does the UK spec clocks work on a JAp spec car? i know mine read HCG but will it convert to PSI if i fit UK turbo clocks?

  3. Started by zx-eyes,

Well after keeping it off the road for a couple of months, i decided as the weather is looking alot better i'd tax my zed and get it back on the road. So yesterday i taxed it and today i got two new front tyres on it and also i changed the rear lights for the 99 spec replica's i made about a year ago lol. I can safely say they look a hell of a lot better than the old ones!!! Some piccies :) Not great but just quickies to show it off!

  6. Started by FULLER,

I've got an s13 and instead of doing the usual thing of redrilling 5 stud disks and fitting either s14 or z32 tt calipers I took the easy option and fitted pre 96 non turbo z32 calipers on the front cos they run on 26mm wide disks same as the s13 instead of 30mm like the tt's. Does anyone know if the rears are the same?? will the pre 96 non turbo's run thinner disks on the rear same as the front. Cheers.

Going round in circles here!! i have been told by 2 x companies that the power the car is producing requires a twin plate clutch poss exeddy type! My other parts are being held up because of that volcano and now this not sure i am going to make Japfest this year:taz: What do you guys reckon, going to cost me 1500+ for the clutch:censored::censored: Dave

  9. Started by damien,

ok i know im repeating but im making one last double check. i know where the jacking points are to raise the car and where the saftey stands are for the 4 axle stands. aswell as jacking the car from the front crossmember i can ALSO bring axle stands forward from the guides "safety stands points" and place under front cross member? this will in effect help me by not having to raise the front as high to get the clearance needed for the intended safety stand points as i can have them more towards the front of the car under the crossmember?

Hello all, Long time no speak, The Z has failed its MOT and I do not have the time or money to fix it. I would like advice on whether to break it or to try and sell for spares / repair. In summary the Mot failed it on crossmember and break lines. I have set up website if people would like to have a look and request stuff here I am also willing to sell the car if someone would like the project, nothing wrong with the engine, body, gearbox etc just those two points!! Will put the Mot certificate up soon. PS the car has a cherished plate which will stay with the car if you buy it. Worth about £500 (J5 GDL) Cheers zx_steve http://zx-steve…

  11. I'll soon be refurbing my spare TT engine ready to go in my zed. The engine was out of my breaker and was in very good conidtion, with a recent water pump, New big end bearings, thermostat, plugs oil filter. The compression is also very good. Engine has done less than 60k and ran very well in my jdm. As it's sitting on a stand i thought I would do the following on it;(not in any real order) Remove tubs Refurb Tubs, was thinking of asking Jimmer to balance them for me. Refit Turbos new cambelt New drive belts New tub seals Check manifolds for cracks clean plenum Clean hard water pipes clean throttle bodies delete EGR Delete Plenum water pi…

  15. Weather is going to be great on Sunday and we're having a gathering at a pub near Swindon. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=137217 So if you lot are at a loose end, would be cool to have some more people. Have about 10 so far which is quite a nice amount....but would be nice to make it a 'bigun', like the infamous Ross-on-Wye meet of 2005. :)

Hello guys, I am looking for a very good tailor in the london area to retrim my front two recaro seats in leather, and the door panels etc in leather. I have all the leather already, just need a recommended tailor. I would love any suggestions from zed owners who have had their seats retrimmed. Thanks a billion :helpsmilie:

  22. I betrayed you all for a minute :blushing: I went to view a GTO with the bottom end knocking. The car was dirt cheap, had a chat with the lads on the forum, they laughed at me, saying its worth £250 tops, and id spend about £2k fixing it. So im back on solid ground and back on Zeds. These arent as expensive as GTO's surely?

Well a couple of months have gone by now and still no news of my engine or wheels. However it seems the garage involved IS insured and i have a solicitor on the case now. A guy has been arrested although what he is being charged with is still unclear as the police are still investigating. I now have the problem of trying to find all my receipts and im missing a few (wiseco pistons, eagle rods, cometic head gaskets, full gasket set etc) Depending on the outcome of the insurers is the deciding factor as to what i do with the car.Wether to break the car or just to put a standard engine in and run it as that.Either way i can see me selling my AEM ECU and a few other par…

Front member corrosion Found during a new owners assessment, bizzare the rest of the zed is tops, done a fair few of these but this is bad, when we get to fix it will do a write up on it with pics. Was a disapointing discovery for the new owner, to be fair unless jacked up you would not see it, rest of the zed is fine so well worth repairing and not to let it spoil the purchase for him. Jeff
