Just been to my local tame mechanic to ask about some suspension bits. ANyway, the last few days the car has been juddery at light throttle applications and lower revs so I was thinking TPS, sure enough popped the bonnet and the spring clip holding it on has disapared so its loose. Anyway it was pissing me off today so I thought i'll disconnect it and much to my suprise it made no difference.

 

So I got home and began to have a proper poke around

 

Bearing in mind the car drives just the same as it ever has above 3000rpm and even below if youve got a heavy foot, just tickling the throttle gives this juddering.

 

Okay so picture time, firstly On this picture there are two connectors, one into the tps and there is another grey one with a wire into the tps as well, what do both of these do?

 

And then this picture, what is this connector for that isnt plugged into anything??

 

 

I assume the box attached to the inner wing is to do with my adjustable FPR? if not what does it do and why does it have a vacuum feed? :s

 

 

Just to clarfiy, this is connector (one on each side the same that are disconnected) is for the stock boost solenoid?

 

 

And then last but not least, this vacuum hose appears to go from the main boost pipe up to a tee piece to do with my EBC... its had a bit of an accident and has become cut inhalf some how, no idea how as i've never touched anything in the engine bay on this, it looks like its been done some time though. Obviously this cant be good!

 

1st pic is normal. TPS connections

 

2nd appears to be Det sensor connetor. Bypassed? - Check for a Resitor at connector, or it may have been done at ECU.

 

3rd pic is the stock PRVR solenoid. Its job is to prevent vapour lock in the fuel system during High fuel temperature situations and during warm starts. It recieves signals from the ECU to release excess vacumn in the fuel system which inturn increases fuel pressure. Its not important and can be removed.

 

4th is Boost solenoids. connectors.

 

5th - If its Tee'd into the EBC then the other end should either go down to the Wastegate pipeing directly below where its at now, or it will go to a nipple on the metal intake pipe next to radiator. Look underneath those pipes for a missing vacumn pipe.

3. Ah right, if this wasnt working properly would it cause slow starting when the car is warm? As in seems to have to turn over for a while before catching?

5. Both ends of the pipe are connected its just split where you see in the picture, im just interested as to what it might bec ausing the car to do? I need to get some hose to replace it but I might just try bodging it with tape tonight and see how the car reacts! Sorry i really know nothing, would that pipe be under vacuum or pressure? It does go to the intake pipe near the radiator.
