Before i ring my 'mechanic'... Does this sound like steering rack failure or could it be something else? Was at Le Mans last week and the old girl has developed a whining noise which became louder when using the steering... When parked up i also noticed a loss of fluid, (after using air conn) which was not coolant, and the noise became more noticable after that. The steering is no prob on long straight roads, french and uk m'ways, but the steering tightens up on slow tighter corners, esp turning left. :confused1: Obviousley i'm not driving it right now i'm back in the uk... :whistling: Pete

COULD THIS BE A RESULT OF:the car is idaling at say 750-800 rpm sound lovely not lumpy not noisey in any way, then you touch throttle now, it dos'nt rev sothly up to were ever you want it holds back for a secound almost if its staving of air then the revs come in thick and fast , now it doesnt matter if you rev it from 1000 rev 2000 rev 3 or even hold it at 4000 revs also it dosent matter if the peddles down hard or soft.THE DREDED DET SENOR

Hi Guys, Me and the Zed got stuck in a traffic jam and after about 40 minutes the (stock) temp gauge suddenly hit the top stop! I pulled onto the hard shoulder, turned the car off and watched plumes of smoke come out from the bonnet. After getting home on the back of the AA truck, I discovered that I have plenty of coolant in the rad and no burst hoses. I started the car and let it run for a bit as it sounded fine. Suddenly, there's odd noises (bubbly spurty sounds) and oil smoke coming from the drivers side of the engine. I can't spot the source of the oil leak and pressure seems OK. Any ideas what might have popped?

Has anbody had any of these on there car? i have read good reviews and bad reviews about these aluminium. inodised nuts. Some say they are poor and dont do well with high speed and can sheer off etc, some say they are good. then the quality of the d1 wheel nuts seem to be a let down that when trying to put them on they just end up scrapped etc. Tho......the ultralite ones seem to be pritty sought after. just wonder any anybodys thought about the good and bad reviews of them? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/D1-FORGED-WHEEL-NUTS-BLUE-NISSAN-300ZX-300-ZX-FAIRLADY_W0QQitemZ270595440722QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=66b731101280a0aad31253c2ff575692…

I want to put gauges into the spare din slot on my dash board. I have a "normal" stereo in the top slot, and just empty space in the bottome. I do have a rather nice CF effect dash insert (well I like it!) will the gauges fit below the stero or should I move the stereo down (if this is possible?) I assume there is something better than this, not sure about the staggered affect tbh but I was thinking along these lines? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RADIO-SLOT-BOOST-GAUGE-POD-3X-52MM-STD-DIN-SLOT-CARBON-/190405397573?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c550bcc45 I would like: Oil Temperature Oil Pressire Water Temperature Being a…

i'm gonna be changing my stock rubber rear spoiler for a fibreglass replica stock spoiler in very near future just after some tips for bonding new spoiler in place, is it best to use the bonding glue close to the edges of the spoiler so to stop water getting underneath or as they did on the one i just bought 2nd hand halfway back on the top surface and sides? my only concern with that of course is water getting under spoiler and getting in through holes left, i also notice they never bonded rear edge is that correct? other one is do i need to rough up paint before applying bonding glue? and does spoiler need to be clamped whilst glue is setting bonding glue…

I have owned 3 Zeds and enjoyed everyone. My current Zed is probably the best and the most powerful that I have owned and the most expensive. I have just showered money on it to get it just the way a Zed should be, fast, reliable and desirable. But when I drive it now it is beginning to feel toooooooo quick, both on power and handling. It feels like a rocket propelled go-kart which is probably partly due to my everyday driver being a Disco TD5. I am now aware that someone of my age getting out of a Zed must look a bit odd as I am closer to 70 than 60, and really these motors are a young mans pocket rocket. I feel that I now should be driving a Masseratti Quadroporti, or a…

So I don't know if he has posted photos of it yet but we took a walkaround vid of his freshly painted car (Nissan Qashqai 2010 Mineral Grey) for your enjoyment. We filmed in High Definition if your PC can handle it! Really does look fantastic in my opinion! See his journal here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=139248 See the video below:-

My CC is tempramental. I can switch it on/off, but when I try to set it it will work the first time, but not again. Is it likely to be the switches on my wheel or is it more likely to be the ECU?
