Hey guys, thought I start a thread about my progress with my 300zx. Well I bought it for really cheap which now I am not surprised at all :P Most would scrap this car but I have a lot of spare time and I do a lot of work on cars so I'll do most of the work by myself. The Z I bought had a blown headgasket, destroyed main bearings, busted and rusted chassis, the whole interior had fungus and mildew all over the leather seats and trimming....if this won't draw you back from buyinf it than you are as crazy as I am :cool3: Soo I started stripping the car to pieces, the engine is already out and dissasembled, interior is out also and now I'm stripping the other stuff …

i recieved my clear front bumper indicators today, and confused as well my indicators are next to the number plates and a side light] i undid the ones at the side of the bumper and they were just blank moulded lights, anyway ive pulled wires across now have indicators where i thought they should be, Now thing is the ones next to the bumpers have no use, so is the a blanking kit or can i order a clear lens or unit to replace it with?>:taz: Thank you guys PS i need a auto box if anyones got one:death: JJ

Right 1st off all before i did anything my car run as sweet as a nut lol Right i have put in 550 injectors so obviously plenum off job. and the boost has been raised to 1.1 bar. Set off and it went pop pop bang and could hardly get up a hill and sounded like a rappid miss fire/ machine gun. Pulled over and noticed the hard pipe had poped off (not tightened up ooppss ) So poped that on and away she flew :) But now i have noticed a very loud turbo noise. Like spool up but really loud like an uprated jobby you get on the skylines. so to give you an idea it sounds fookin mental lol!! Any ideas what i can be? i still seem to be holding boost at 1.1 ba…

After fitting the newly built tubs and replaced engine i have finnally got to stage where im checking everything. I turn here over she starts up perfect on the buttom im checking iol pressure that sits nice and gose up with a blip of the throttle then im looking at the boost gadge i have a uk tt. The gadge when running on tickover reads -14 and as soon as o blip the throttle shes up to o in the middle but shouldnt she go further is she in safty mode or something i cant run her down the road because its on ramps there is one other issue about breathing but ill look at that tomorow. if she is on safty how do you get her off? cheers.

well i've just bought a set of eibach springs and stock shocks for the zed am i right in thinking these drop the car 35mm (i bought them low milage/used) will this lead to needing to adjust camber/caster settings ?

I have just bought a replacement engine and I am about to receive it over next couple of days, I have bought it without turbos and I believe the engine is out of a manual car. Will the turbos off an automatic fit on the engine as one of them is bigger on the auto car aren't they?

after the thread started on wrong injectors, checked mine and found this? 2 purple 4 greenish? im confused, i think the purple are SR injectors, but what are the others, ?

Got a slight drip on garage floor from rear center of engine.It is sort of light brown with a bitter taste.Any ideas Peeps.Checked all fluid levels and there spot on,I.E Brake,clutch ,power steering,engine oil,rad.

Hi guys. My stock boost gauge wont go above about -5mmhg, is this the sensor or the gauge itself that's playing up do you think?? It's not a huge problem as I have an AVC-r which is still showing the correct boost but I'd prefer it to be working properly. Cheers H

Guessing game, we have seen a surprising rise in a particular fault with twin turbo zeds, all of the case we have dealt with are new owners having just purchased the zeds from garages usually sold as seen. The latest zed in question been dealt with today is pictured below, starting with a simple plenum removal can anyone see what is wrong yet? will reveal more pictures in a bit, plenum had been off before and as we see many, many times the old (useless ) gasket had been used ....priceless eh? oh and there is no known garages involved here so its just a little fun guessing game not who did that game!! Hi Got the conzult cable out, connected it to my "zx", no red and green led coming on with the ignition??:angry: Has anyone got a wiring diagram for the ddl connector. have looked and cant find one. :no:Would be nice to trace the wires back. Have got no warning lights coming on with ignition apart from alternator light, was hoping that was the bulb check relay, which I havent checked yet. Right, my current suspension consists of Koni Sports all around, Stillen sway bars, poly bushes and OEM springs. Handling is great but ride is stiff around town even on the Koni's softest setting + they're a PITA to adjust. I want to replace the Koni's and am considering Tokico HP's, KYB Gr2's or even replacing with a set of new OEM's. Not really fussed with adjustability. The sway bars control roll very well, so need the shocks to provide a firm (equal to OEM or +10/15%) but comfortable damping. Any feedback, opinions, recommendations greatly appreciated. Cheerz

Just a thought, has anyone put a GTO spoiler on a Z? if so, what did/would it look like? probably pants, just seen a GTO, just a thought...
