ive just done the center bearing today on my zed . anybody thinking about doing this make sure you have a new 27mm nut for the middle . what a complete PITA getting that thing off . i had to reuse it but christ it was butchered . also make sure you have new gaskets for your exhaust . i managed to buy a kit and make some new ones up but i was lucky that my local car spares place had this in stock , you might not be. one other bit of advice is to make sure you put a really good mark down the shaft for realignment . i just put a couple of little marks on mine and with all the struggling getting the bloody big nut off i scrubbed all my marks so im just hoping its not too…

hi i have been having intermittant hesitation on my z for a while , it generally occurs between 1-2k rpm and i have been able to catch a spike on datascan as you can see from the screen grab it goes loopy! i have a duel mapped ecu and was going to illiminate the crossover switch just incase this is at fault and is trying to switch maps while driving. any advice on anything else it could be? i was in traffic doing approx 8-15 mph

Just got a second hand idle control valve and air reg of ebay gave it a good clean and got a new gasket from nissan for idle control valve .When i took the new valve apart i notoiced a rubber washer on the idle screw .My old one never had this i wonder if this is the cause of my varible idle probs.not fitted new one yet, is this washer important will it leak air past it without 1 thanks.

My standard fpr has given up the goast, if i fitted a adjustable version is there a way to set it to the right pressure with out a gauge or will it need a gauge? all so is there any thing else i will need to fit one, eg an adaptor plate?

Hi, I stumbled by this picture when looking at vg30dett engine conversions into S-bodies (my friend has one). This engine bay, single turbo conversion looks mint; but can anyone explain how it is done? and what is going on under the hood from this picture? It confuses me!

hi guys it sounds like the exhaust on my zed is blowing but its coming from the front drivers side, is this an easy fix ?

Hi I am in the middle of my manual conversion and cant say evrything is going smooth but it is getting there. I have an uprated clutch to fit - it came with all bits including allignment tool - in the packet was the new spigot bush sitting on the end of the tool - now bush is fitted (and it was ok to fit) the tool is way too tight and i cant push it in at all - i dont want to sand it down as then i know the geabox input shaft will not go in - what has gone wrong now and what can i do - do i have to get a new bush - is it possible this has reduced size as being fitted - if it has to come out and a new one in how do i get that out --oooohhh sooo many questions -- any he…

Hi, just took the zed out for run, drove great pulled realy well, had a great dive until it suddenly cut out! i was was accelorating quite hard but had to brake quite harsh as i was coming to a bend and i felt the steering go stiff, i looked at the clocks and the car had cutt out, it fired up straight away and it was fine again. this has happened a few times now, ive checked the ecu and its showing no codes. could it be a boost leak? any commemnts greatly appreciated cheers Si

Can this just be removed from the car, having taken my UK spec front bumper off, i have no need for all the pipe work (looks like garden hose lol no expense spared i guess) they didn't even work anyway. its all headlight threads today, think we should nominate this day as headlight Sunday lol

I'm buying some refurbished headlights that have 99 spec inserts in them (or they will have) I am unsure of what colour to do them to best suit my car. I was thinking black, but silver has also been mentioned? Can anyone suggest any more/better colours. Its to fit to my Silver SWB.

I've been on with this niggle for a while now but not actually done much about it. The problem is my headlights are very poor (full beam is fine, infact very good!) They are so bad that if I have a passenger in the car they do ask if I have even got the headlights on! I have decided to buy some refurbished headlights that have been cleaned and have 99 spec inserts etc as an upgrade but also to try and help with the brightness. I do have a set of 35w HIDS, they were fitted to the car when I bought it so I am unsure of the quality. I was under the impression that if they worked then they worked if you know what I mean. Hi, Can anybody reccomend a insurance company I can try, I want to keep the impreza insured but would like the zed to be on the same policey so I can use my no claims on bother cars if you know what I mean. Iam 28 with a clean licence and 7 years no claims. Cheers Mark

Just done the maiden voyage after doing the auto to manual conversion and i have no brakes! (It was a very short journey but it was my first clutch pedal and gear change experience in my little shortie:thumbup:!!) When I depress the brake pedal I hear a hissing sound and the pedal goes very soft. When I start the engine the softness off the clutch pedal doesn't change. Here's what I have done that may give a clue:- Used the Manual brake servo and master cylinder from breaker. Re-routed clutch/brake reservoirs using silicone (no pipe clips/clamps though) Used the reservoir valves. T'd clutch servo into Brake servo line in between one way valve and plen…

I'm finally making a start on my sound system tomorrow, was just wondering if anyone knows the easiest place to run the power lead for the amp. not sure if there is a easily accessible grommet in the passenger foot well or not? any tips and advice would be appreciated. Steve

Hello all, is it possible to purchase a SWB exhaust system for a LWD and fabricate any extentions needed? i was looking at the Kakimoto/HKS hi-power but havent been able to find any for the LWB. Also, how much power can and auto box take safely? mine has done 48k and runs really smooth but i dont want to ruin that with more power, plus a manual convertion is expensive and being an import and me being 20 years old the insurance would torture me. good day in all, got through 3 sets of tyres, came down with a few mates, first time id driven the 300 on this track, iv driven a 200 on it, the video isof my 2nd run in that car so ignore the first 2 spins :P and the final spin was because id out stayed my welcome by 1 lap lol!! probably got in about 35 - 40 laps overall, i could drift that with my eyes closed by the end :P lol! Hi all, just been to pick my car up from the Bodyshop and it looks absolutely awesome. Mercedes Arktic White blows the hell out of crappy old Pearl White anyday :) had Front bumper fitted, Side Skirts, Rear bumper extension and Fiberglass spoiler fitted as well. Peter
