When tightening the valve cover it cracked, did'nt even give it that much  This was the top one without the oil filler. Do you think I will get away with it, its on the over side of the gasket plus its a middle bolt rather then the outside ones.

i have searched every thread i can and possibly started to confuse myself with different scenarios - as i understand it after the manual box is in i only have to wire the reverse lights and sort out the neutral switch - from what i gather the two wires from the remaing inhibitor switch go to the reverse lights but what wire goes to the neutral - some leave it but i dont want the hassle with the base timing out - do i need to bother with the starter relay in the inner wing on the clutch does everyone bother with the booster side - i want it easy to drive but is it much more hassle to fit all the bits kind regards dave

Ok folks...I need to pull my finger out and get myself a new clutch. Have been putting it off til my existing clutch is properly knackered and it's almost there now so... ...I have an RPS Max Street at the moment as recommended by most on this forum. However...for a variety of possible reasons, it's knackered (within a year!). It's been looked at by a few very trusted mechanics and the conclusion is that I need a new one. Now...my issue is that I'm a little apprehensive of getting another RPS Max Street as it has to come from the US and as such, if anything goes wrong with it, I'm pretty much dead in the water! So, I thought I'd post up on here to see if an…

I know there's been a few threads about this in the past: On the way to work one of my boost pipes came off and caused the Z to belch black smoke and refuse to run/idle. Luckily I was next to a petrol station so I pulled in and managed to temporarily get the pipe back on so it would at least drive. Unfortunately it's not giving me the key back. The thumb-push refuses to go in and allow the key to come back to first position and come out. I'm sure this is due to the car stalling because of the pipe as I've never had this problem before. It's a MANUAL, with an Apexi Turbo Timer. I've tried wiggling the steering lock, I've started the engine, turned the key of…

Greetings all, first off I know that everyone has "their shop" and their preferences, so on and so forth. But is there any one shop in the UK that has the top reputation, no history of shenanigens, and a solid record of integrity, that most everyone can agree on? I'm considering getting my Z tuned properly, but want to make sure it goes someplace that will actually do it properly and has a solid track record with Z32's. I'm not sure if there is any significant difference in petrol between the UK and Germany, so it might even be a moot point. Anyway, this will require a ferry trip and certainly at least one night, possibly two, as well as using up leave time from work…

Had my tracking set up by laser,Had it checked three times now ,and didn't need any adjustment, all my tires or the same size and inflated to the correct pressure , cant see any play in the bushes and the power steering is all topped up , so what might be causing it to pull to th right , on level roads as well as camber roads.

I was driving along in my z31 at a sensible speed today approaching a red light in the rain, gently applied the brakes and the car really shot off to the right. Get to where I'm going and have a look to find that my offside track control rod is snapped in 2, half of it on the road somewhere at that set of traffic lights I imagine. Just started searching for a replacement rod and came across this thread which set alarm bells ringing as I recently installed poly bushes...anybody had any problems or heard that poly should not be used for this part of the car?

Hi Had my aircon filler valves changed on my 92 tt import and a special gas with oil for the old type compessors put in.everything was perfect for 2 days then no more ice cool air.Checked the compressor and can see the clutch is not working (wiring has been checked) 1)can i replace with the newer type commpressor (series 2 on i think ?) 2)If so is that an advantage ? and is that all i have to replace or do other parts of the system have to be changed over to match the new type compressor? thks Kurt

  23. Finally started the car after getting everything together and both the clutch and brake pedals seem to go to the floor way to easy. When I depress the pedals the revs drop too! Have I set up the one way valves on the vac reservoirs wrong? Why is the brake pedal going to the floor? :confused1:
