hey there ive been driving my na 1990 zx for about a month now and i love it although i cant believe how much fuel its using ? Ive had 2 other v6 engined vehicles before that wasnt as bad as this one, ive had a 194 bhp 3.0 v6 laguna and a 205 bhp 3.2 v6 frontera which i was gettin about 25 mpg . IN the 300zx i put 20 quid fuel in took me from the red to just over a quarter and its got me 91 km ?? which is pretty crap, does my car need a service or are they juust reli bad on fuel ?? and i dont drive it fast most the time im below 3000 rpm ?? thanks dave

Hi, i have just started the prepping for the attempt at the manual conversion - i have removed the cover hiding the fixings for the clutch pedal/booster assembly and there is a large wiring loom from the alarm going through it - the wires go everywhere so does the large hole have a air tight seal when the clutch system is in or can i enlarge the hole (like a v in the bottom) to house the wiring loom as well - hope that makes sense - otherwise i will have to cut the wiring loom and rejoin about 30 wires - many thanks dave

Well, I have not long got home from Jae, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend, even though I'm shattered from all the running around I did prior to and over the whole long weekend. The weather started off quite poor on Thursday and Friday with Rain, but it didnt seem to dampen anyones Jae Spirit. but luckily the Hot sun cam out to play for most of Saturday and ALL day today. we had over 20 Zeds on the stand at it's peek on Saturday which is always nice to see. yes more would have been better, but so long as the members who showed had a good time, then I'm happy. We had some Regular Jae attenders as well as some Newcomers. it was nice to mee…

Right seeing all the photos and posts going up i thought that i would post my own thoughts: Well the night before going my gearbox decided to pack up so i was gutted that i wouldn't be able to take her there, so the weekend started poorly, On top of that we got stuck in traffic on the way and ended up doing about 2 mph for some considerable time. My mate, me and his two teenage kids finally arrived and had a bit of a laugh trying to put up our tents in the windy conditions. We cracked open a few tinnies and went for a walk. I was still gutted that the car couldn't make it but wandering over to the 300zx area put a smile on my face again as i saw some old fr…

I missed out on JAE last year due to working, but really pleased i could be a part of it this year. The weather started off a little wet, but when youre there, youre there, you just get on with it. It didnt dampen the sprits, good banter, most enjoyable. A good turn out and atmoshpere, a plentiful supply of food and coffee, many thanks to Kim for hosting this event, a great job as always. A great size marquee to sit in later on in the evening. Of course doubled up as a garage for Jason's Beast, to keep it looking spotless for the show and shine, and gave us a nice light and sound show lol. Lots of news to come in follow up threads, with lots of pics too. A …

liek above. my car never smokes on idle apart from the morning when its a bit steamy looking. I have noticed that when i decelerate in second gear and start to apply a tiny bit of throttle again i get some blue ish smoke puff out the back. but on hard acceeleration its not there. Is it unburnt fuel because my car does smell of fuel from the exhausts?

Having had swb's and lwb's you'd think id know the answer to this one, but I don't! Are the targa panels different on shorties? I've just caught a glimpse of my swb through the window and the T tops look odd - one sits flatter than the other. If they are, this could be one reason why they leak so bad! Anyone know? Cheerz :)

Hi guys, hope everyone is well? - its been a while since i have been on here as i sold my last zed and went travelling up the east coast of Australia - absolutley awesome i tell thee! however i have returned to beautiful sunny all the time England and first thing on my list after getting a job was to save for a new Zed! That plan worked as it is sitting outside on my drive now- a twin turbs jap import - 2 previous owners and low milage needs a few jobs doing to it and will most likely have loads of daft questions to ask in the coming weeks, just relised it is still very early, i work nights probably not many on here at this hour anyways just a message to say hi to yo…

I've just sawn mine into four pieces and thrown it into the bin (couldn't get it off without removing top rad pipe which I didn't want to do as I'd only just replaced it last week) and then managed to get one of the fan blades stuck inside it, lol!). I'm running a Koyo. Can I get away without it, as I notice some of you have also gone shroudless.

Right guys looks like im going have to re-do some of my leather trim. What is the best glue out there for sticking this stuff down?? Tryed evo stick but it still seems to stuggle with the heat with it being a black car and all that:yawn:

I bought some new crystal clear indicators and some of the crystal rear lights. the indicators were the only ones that supplied lamps, and they were orange (which deffied the point of being crystal clear) and don't fit. and the rear lights didn't supply any, so i still can't fit them. My existing indicators lamps are a bit of a wierd fitting, the pins are slightly different hights, but opposite each other. and only have one point of conection in the holder. was just wondering if i can get the silver lamps to fit the holders, or do i need to get new holders. also is the black grease stuff on the rear lights really nescecary?

I've got my zed up on stands at the moment to change the prop and I want to set about tidying up the underside while im there. The sills need looking at but I'm hoping to get them done by a professional so I just want to dab a bit of paint over the suspension components etc and any rust I can see both for protection and for aesthetics. Then I'll probably use something like waxoyl/shutz/dinitrol to underseal it once everything else is all cleaned up. Can anyone recommend anything for painting the suspension arms? Is POR-15 still recommended for this sort of stuff? Cheers, James

  20. Started by Kashchristian,

Evening All, I decided to change the front tyres on my zed today and noticed a grazed mark on my coolant bottle just above the low level mark. After closer inspection and a low level of coolant i decided to top it up slightly and noticed the grazed mark was actually a small minute hole and it was seeping coolant. Checked the radiator water and it was fine, it didnt need topping up. Wanted advice really.Would it be best not to drive the car until I change the bottle?...or is it something I just need to keep an eye on. Regards Kash

  23. As above, seemed to be generally doing circuits of the Battlefield services (Two Henrys) and the bypass! I'm was pretty sure it was Little REDZED's car, but just looked and I think it's been sold to someone else, but pretty sure that is the car.
