I have HSK adjustable shock absorbers and find them a very hard ride. it has been suggested that i replace these with the originals to soften the ride. The current ones could be adjusted to soften the ride a little but not a lot. Does it make sense to do the swap ? If so what is a decent price range for the originals...........or has anyone got a set that they have knocking about. I will be putting the HSK set up for sale after the change over. I've also been told that the originals are a bit taller, is this true? The ride with the current ones is great on flat roads and corners/roundabouts are a pleasure. The local back roads are a nightmare for bumps , lumps and pot…

Follow on form this thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=141126 So a seized cam and a stripped cambelt can spell disaster but having faith in the robustness of the zed engine can often be rewarding. The zed was recovered to us from another garage that had partial stripped the engine, mainly the radiator and cambelt covers which had revealed a destroyed cam belt and a seized right hand exhaust camshaft and of course the remaining cams and crank all wrongly timed. Removal of the plenum, upper and lower injector assemblies, the timing sprockets with back plates and both of the camshaft (rocker) covers reveal the camshafts. …

Well managed to sort out the power steering leak, and for some reason today when reconnecting the belt for the water pump, i bought it up to temperature and no leaking anywhere, very strange even made sure there was coolant in the rad. So thought id decide to take it down to the local for some go go juice. put £20 in it, and started driving home, took it around the local ring road as i wanted to see if she would hold her temp, went to put my foot down to over take a pug 106, the moment i hit boost, there was a very loud pop and no power? it drives, just no power at higher boost levels, it almost feels as if something is trying to drag the car backwards in spurts is t…

The seats I bought from 'Sandy Z' the other week arrived on Wednesday (Cheers Sandy) and I've just finished fitting them. They make a huge difference from the grey tweed interior originally fitted. All to do now is decide which colour trim I'm going to have (not sure if I want the blue or silver/grey?) and get it ordered and fitted. :) I'm well happy  :) what do you guys think? Matt

Got my 89spec this morning along with my 99spec front bumper form Car.mad this morning. so thought id go get some spray and have a go at the spoiler, wasn't much prep work to be done on it as the quality is spot on. no bends or twists and very clean already, a testament to the skill in making it. So nipped off down to halfords to see if they had any rattle cans of AH3, well nothing on the shelf so went to there paint department counter and asked if they could mix me up a few rattle cans. having checked the code the dude got to work and made me some 300ml spray cans. with a fan nozzle. anyway, 3 coats of red undercoat and 3 coats of red paint later here are the …

I am really struggling to get someone to have a look at my ZX gearbox. I have a 1993 twin turbo automatic and my gearbox seem buggered. I don't know a lot about cars so I am in desperate need of a decent garage to look at my gearbox and give me sound advice regarding getting the issue fixed or replacement gearbox sourced and fitted. My Questions to you guys: 1. for a replacement used gearbox and fitted - how much should i expect to pay? 2. I live in the North West nr Warrington, does anyone know of a reasonable place to take my car to be looked at - I am desperate as no one seems to want to look at a 300zx. Many Thanks Jeff
