General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Anybody know of a place that does CLEAR side indicators and not the tacky FROSTED side indicators that are being called clear?? If not, anybody know of any grey tinted or smoked silver ones? ... YEAH I'M FUSSY! :euro:

I saw this drive through the middle of town a couple of weeks ago, and my work collegue who lives in the Bicton area says he's seen a blue one around a few times near him?

White Jap spec, black wheels with red rims. I stopped and stared as you went past! Always nice to see a Zed on the way home from work!

Just in case anybody was wondering, this is the shifter once it`s been dismantled prior to installation. Will add more as i install.

I am really struggling to get someone to have a look at my ZX gearbox. I have a 1993 twin turbo automatic and my gearbox seem buggered. I don't know a lot about cars so I am in desperate need of a decent garage to look at my gearbox and give me sound advice regarding getting the issue fixed or replacement gearbox sourced and fitted. My Questions to you guys: 1. for a replacement used gearbox and fitted - how much should i expect to pay? 2. I live in the North West nr Warrington, does anyone know of a reasonable place to take my car to be looked at - I am desperate as no one seems to want to look at a 300zx. Many Thanks Jeff

just wired a switch in to the one side of my reverse lights, put an led fog light bulb in and it was very dull- how can i make the light look brighter, do i have to aluminium foil the inside of the reverse lights hole or is there a normal bright red bulb i can buy ?? Thanks :D

I've been told the ECU on my Zed has been modified (not sure how exactly) but I want to change it for a standard one. Is there any differences between ECU's in the newer 300ZX's or can I just simply take one from a series 2 and put it in my 1990? Reason I'm asking is I have a series 2 sitting for spares so wouldn't have to get another ECU :)

So what to do do if you wack your sill on something, well below is someones idea of what to do COVER IT UP! Spotted during a regular MOT test, the cover up was not unsafe in any way but as it was starting to peel away it had the potential to be rotten behind so had to be pulled off to look. The repair had been done with little preperation but was surprisngly convincing and in fact had been in place for a few years before showing out. So the only way was to get the metal work pulled back into shape, then the lightest skim of filler and then underseal and paint, should have been done this way the first time around. …

Especially when I have been driving quite hard the back of my car gets a film of oil/fuel?? over it. I have had the cats removed, would this make a difference? What exactly is this film I am seeing? Thanks guys Dan

why does my air con blow hot air only regaudless of the set temp? i have noticed before that the relay has been removed. but it still blows, it just blows hot air and i cant stop it gently realisng this warm air into the cabin. only starts after a good drive or leadfooting. wouldnt be a problem but now winters here and it rains alot i hav eto whack up teh window and it gets rather toasty.

Want to lower the zed , using the standard tires and wheels and shocks ,how much should i drop it , and how much firmer is the ride going to be ?

As ive recently moved to essex from london i have no contacts here and dont fancy letting any cowboy touching my wheels. Anyone local who has a tyre machine who can change mine for a good deal? Im not paying £15 a tyre, thats day light robbery for something that takes less than 20mins. Just bought a full set of federal semi slicks and i cant wait to try them out on the road.

Any one ever had one? im looking in geting the z done ive been quoted £1260 so far. any thing i should watch out for?

I also have an Apexi S-AFC Super air flow converter which again will be fitted or selling so please let me know any feed back on these. Hi All, I've seen some smoked front indicators on Z's before (not the '99 ones.) Are they standard on some Zeds or aftermarket? I think i read somewhere that Car.Mad was working on a cup holder project, anybody have a clue what I'm talking about? Anybody else working on a cup holder device? looking through the search bit i found a thread with someone selling one a while ago that came from the din slot, had a tray on top, and two cup holders underneath, all in one single din. to be honest it gave me a bit of a semi. are these still being made?

Has anyone delt with this guy, bought a tps from him through ebay and its worse than useless and he is not taking calls or tex and his phone is now diverted to a foriegn answer machine !!!

Thinking of getting a kaminari wing off them, do they ship at reasonable rates?

im looking for the pro,s and cons with polyurethane bushes over oem bushes .ive gotta replace the front anti-roll bar bushes to start with and have a good look at all others and replace as necessary . my way of thinking is nissan put rubber on them in the first place even though polyurethane was available when zeds were being made . mines only used on the road . have any of you guys had experience with new rubber bushes and polyurethane . im looking for a comparison between the two as im not too sure which way to go at the moment cheers guys andy

As above really, car smells quite heavily of fuel (this is according to others as i have no sense of smell!) and the rear bumper is quite blackened above the exhausts. I've been told the FPR needs replacing, does all this sound related and if so how easy/much to rectify? Thanks, Daffy.

Hi all, been a while but I'm back with a new Zed. Just bought this last weekend from croeso, some of you will probably know it.... ...but those who dont I'm sure you'll see it at future meets and events. These are some of croeso's pics as I've not took any myself yet. It's really good to be back behind the wheel of the Z32, especially this one. Must say I prefer this to the 350Z I had previously which was something of a let down after owning a 300ZX TT before that. What do you all think? Did I do good?
