Time to change. Any suggestions for a good aftermarket manufacturer of quality cam belts. I don't need racing or track day spec, just a highly recommended make. Cheers.

I am trying to make room for a full size battery in my engine compartment. The previous battery, now dead, was the wrong type being too small and only just man enough to start the car. The problem now is the Hornet car alarm siren is taking up the space needed. How easy is it to relocate the siren unit? If I cut the wires when the alarm is unarmed will it set the alarm off? Actually I would like to remove the siren altogether [it goes off always at the wrong time when voltage drops] and just use the keyless entry and engine immobiliser, is this possible?

I need to replace my original spoiler with a fiberglass copy of the same type. Does anyone know if I can get away with just painting the spoiler, or will the tailgate have to be done too?

...a job I thought I'd never get to do easily as one of the screw heads was rusted so bad it was coming apart when I tried to undo it, but eventually I got the old ones out and the new smoked 'reflectors' in. I take it the US-spec Zs have (or had) to have lit-up rear reflectors because the new units come with small bulbs for which there is no visible connection in my Jap bumper. I love the look though - the red really clashed with the blue, but now the rear quarters match the darker alloys and also the smoked side repeaters up front. A great mod for about £30 delivered from the US

I am trying to buy a new battery for my 1990 TT auto import, as the old one died. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information from suppliers. H******S and two Internet suppliers want to give me a battery far to large to fit in the limited space. They also have three different specifications for the battery. Does any one know the official Nissan specified Reserve Capacity and Cold Cranking Amps [its not given in the online manual or handbook], I can then find one that fits. The old battery I think was wrong anyway being only 45 Ah, but it did fit.

It had cracked underneath near the exhaust, i was jacking up the rear and forgot to put something under the wheels to stop them rolling oops. But its ok, I got to work and made a few changes. Covered more of the lower of the fender with perspex and brought the diffuser in deeper. Might make a difference... might not..... the high pressure air should escape easier out the rear than before. These aftermarket bumpers kinda act like parachutes but a few changes and all is transformed :) before: after:

I have a pair of Carmad ducts to be fitted which I've been putting off due to various other commitments. I want to try and get these in soon but I have UK spec sidelights (at the front). Obviously I need to switch the sidelights into, I believe, the side position (Jspec?). The lense I have in there at the moment has the housing for a bulb (a hole anyways!) so my question is...is it simply a case of removing the bulb assembly from my existing 'front' sidelights and sticking them in the 'side' sidelights or do I need to go and buy some special kit for this change?? I had a search on here but couldn't seem to find any detailed writeups, etc...

I have had this issue for a while, its had it since I bought the car. Its intermitant and there is only one circumstance where I can almost be sure its going to do it. The problem: When driving along at light throttle the car feels like its holding back, and almost sounds like its missing. If you increase throttle a little bit the car doesnt respond as you would expect until you put a little more throttle on and then it accelerate away cleanly and as normal. Its annoying in traffic as it just feels sluggish and it can begin to jump/vibrate as if it had a miss. The "fix" If I accelerate, or just put my foot down for a couple of seconds its gone and t…

Well progress, the hesitation issue has now gone. car running smoothly again, then today got her up to temp went to move her, and low and behold a bloody swimming pool forming under the car. turned the engine off and checked. Water leak is back, but noticed it does it when the engine is warm, when its stone cold, it doesn't, so going to empty the system out over the weekend and check the top rubber pipe work. also going to get the rad out, take the plenum off, clean everything check the water pump, flush the radiator through, and if needed change the water pump, top inlet pipes, clean all the radiator rubber hoses, water by pass, and polished plenum on. may as well…

Just thought I would say I used a pair of wire cutters CAREFULLY... Then snipped bits away... It was still a pig, I was lucky that I never broke anything. I'm not sure, but I had to mod these to the 3 prong version from the 2. Here are the pics/progress for anyone asking to put these up. P.S: You need to get rid of the stopper inside the housing on some bits (as you progress you will see why... Just go slow!). Marked the points where I was going to chomp! Oh by the way, run some superglue around the rubbers and stick them to the housing itself as it's a sod getting the new indicators in! (the…

I'm not that keen on people splashing cash on me, even at Xmas. Just think that there's so much more they could do with it! But as per usual, my folks are pestering me about what I want for Xmas, so in a bid to silence them and not have them go and spend more money than they need to, I thought I might get them to buy me a pair of skirts for the Zed (inc door fillers off course!). Problem is...I can't decide what would suit as I already have A/M front and back. So...anyone have any opinions? I'm not a fan of skirts with the little holes in them but will consider all otehrs. I am a big fan of Carmad's work so have been checking his skirts out and quite fond of the…
