Hi Mate, Any chance I could buy SMW license plate off you before you sell silver streak?. Been trying to get this back even since I sold the car to gubbins with the clause of getting the plate back once he put a new one on. Also tried with Leigh but everone seems to sell it on before I get a chance. I feel like I'm chasing my tail now. Thanks Stu

HI All. Does anyone know if the centre light panel is the same part for the UK and Jap cars, as I am about to get a Jap one to replace my damaged UK one? Are all 4 lights the same also, ie reversing? Cheers

I swapped the transmission fluid again yesterday and cleaned out the filter again, really thoroughly this time, loads more crap came out - a kind of light brown fiberous type material (again no sign of metal shards or anything to sinister) I got caught out in the rain yesterday so didn't get to refill it till this morning so it was with trepidation that i refilled and started her up.......... All good, no whirring noise like before, so i gently took her for a little spin....... All good, no foreign noises from the box and the changes are as smooth as they have ever been..... Took her to work and probably did about 20 miles today.... All good, sou…

HI FOLKS FIRST EVER POST! i am stumped, 1989 import tt manual, hot or cold car starts and runs perfectly, when you pull off ,will not rev in gear more than 2000 revs ,if you dip clutch will rev cleanly through to 7500 revs, engauge gear will not rev ,you can drive slowly provided you change up the box before you hit 2000. had series 2 ptu 4 years ago may 4000 miles use new air flow meter engine rebuilt 1500 miles still running in max 5000 whilst driving new coolant sensor 3000 miles this fault has been on car to some degree for last 10 years but very random ,used to clear when it happened ,if you sat with engine running for a few m…

today the car was running sounding very rough, so i did a conzult. no errors and everything looked right. balance test showed revs drop by about 50rpm on clyinder one and 400 to 500 rpm on the other five to me this reads that cylinder one is working slightly but not fully. am i right?? recently i had a new front bumper fitted and they forgot to refit the splash gaurd over the cone air filter, the car started running ruff the day after i washed it (and i have a vented nose pannel) so i was blaming it on water sucked in the air filter into the cylinder. however there is no sign of water in the engine what else should i check? i had asumed it was not a…

Reet, I had a major problem bleeding my brakes, just couldn't get anything out of the rear, no air, no oil, no nowt. Turns out the master cylinder was faulty. Changed it, now i can bleed them, all four corners fine, and one of the bleed points on the ABS unit no probs, bleeds a treat. However, the over nipple on the ABS unit, the one for the rears, i have bled about a litre out of it, and still loads of air, bled it for hours, and still air, something isn't right, with all the nipples closed, it makes a hissy whirry noise, could the ABS unit be faulty and letting air in somewhere? There is no way there could still be air in it, surely? Everything is tight aswell.... Any i…

I'm doing a clean up and service of my spare engine before it goes into my zed. The engine has been in storage for over a year and I've never done engine work before so I have a few questions 1. Can anyone recommend a good "liquid gasket" for when I fit the inlet outlet pipes, water pump etc? SORTED 2. What type of gear puller will I need to pull the crank pulley off? 3. The sprockets have some surface rust on them (see pic). Are they fubar'd and need replacing or can they be cleaned up? 4. If they can be cleaned; can I take them off without shaggin up the timing, if I do one at a time and ensure the belt hasn't moved, or am I being naive? I will b…

Simple question with a simple answer probably  Will a tt ecu work on a na car? Im guessing it will run crap and over fuel everywhere but im asking anyway! My main reason for asking is I see loads of chipped modified ecu for tt cars on ebay and here but none for a na car. Cheers

Something Ive wanted to do for ages and now after a bit of saving up and a few light taps with a lump hammer I've got the new lights in. Love the look, the only slight downside is the peachy-coloured indicators, but I can live with that! :D These are the genuine article too, so my old 89-spec ones will be up for sale soon, once I can be bothered to clear all the liquorice sealant off them!! :online2long:
