Had it in my mind to take the Z somewhere to get it waxoyled but after searching on ebay I found that there was similar products in rattle cans. So I purchased the pictured from my local car parts store for a fiver :wink: and then spent 40 mins with car in the air at my local garage, torch in one hand and spray can in the other doing it myself. Able with the straw to get in all nooks and crannies and am very pleased with the job, very very worthwhile :thumbup1: The car is very sound and I just have very slight rust on the inner sills, but coated everywhere and just had enough. I managed to find a guide the other day that showed photos of all different engine bay shots/ under arches etc i think it was the Australian forum but not sure. its not the one in our faq though. i need a photo of the layout of the pas hoses on the crossmember, can anyone help

Its time for me to start my engine bay blinging, so just before I place my order`s at z1, z-centre ect, has anyone got bling for sale?? Chrome balance bars, throttle/fuse/ covers, pots, brackets, nuts/bolts? anything really to tart the bay up. let me know one here or PM. Thanks in advance :cool3:

i use my Zed every day, to and from work at the very least, and was wondering how many others on here do too. and does anyone have any advice as to how i can keep her in the best nick possible whilst using her all the time?

Not that I have an autobox but just out of pure interest, according to wikipedia the NA and TT zeds have different autoboxes, is this true? 4-Speed RE4R01A Automatic Transmission for the NA 4-Speed RE4R03A Automatic Transmission for the TT I always thought they had the same autobox! (If it is the case, TT's fitted with a replacement NA autobox probably arnt going to last long!?)

My zed isn't the best zed in the world. I wanted to sell it to buy a nicer one, but got that many time wasters i decided to keep it. There is 1 Zed for sale at the moment i really want. I dont know if its best to spend loads on my car, or just buy this other one. I'd try 1 last time to sell mine as a car, but if that doesn't work, is it worth breaking, or only break a car that is damged/blown up etc??? My car doesn't have any problems, just need a good tidy up...

Does anyone run their Zed with an Optima battery in it? Was thinking about a yellow top one if the dimensions are gonna let me fit one in. Or are there any better batteries on the market?

I'm about to have a re-spray done, and the workshop has asked a number of questions which could make the difference between a great job and a bad one. One of the key activities to a good job is to obviously remove as many bits and pieces as possible so here goes: 1. The black horizontal strips on the windows. How easy are these to remove? Are there any special clips that hold them in place and is there a special technique to ensure that they do not snap? Can the clips be re-used? If not, where could I get replacements from? Also, can new strips be bought and how much? 2. Scuttles below the windscreen. Is there an alternative to re-spraying them as m…

Hi guys, Managed to get a consult reader and the free software. Not sure how to use it really, but hooked it up to me car, got the screen shots of the car idle on cold start idle, warm idle and then warm idle after adjusting the idle time... it said it was out and made the car idle way past the green ok bar on the software, so adjusted it accordingly, then done a screen rip after it was done....... Can someone help and tell me if my car is ill? I also noted my o2 reading was moving quite a bit on warm idle instead of looking stable. Is this normal? Ive removed the 4 8mm nuts each side and two in the centre. But it wont budge. Ive tapped the bolts with a hammer but no joy. Whats the trick here.

Right then, Went out for a run a week or so ago and just pulling out of a T--junction, the steering went very heavy (unassisted) for a brief moment. Then all was fine again. Went for another run yesterday (about an hour) and when I was reversing onto my drive when i got back, the power steering went again. Only this time it didn't come back to life again. Parked the car up, checked the fluid level and visible connections - all fine. Scratched my head for a bit, started it up - all fine again. Spookily I had exactly the same problem with my R32, which eventually went and never came back. Am I about to loose my pump - any suggestions. Cheers

Hi Guys, this is a fairly common problem on these cars. I have a light steering wheel shake under braking. It occurs at any speed and under any load of braking. It seems more noticable under light braking at around 30/40mph. Had this problem on/off since buying the car. I have changed:- The rack bushes ARB bushes Droplinks Tension rod bushes (new OEM's) Brakes (brand new K-sport 330mm kit) Track rod ends. Took my car to a garage this morning who put the car on shaker plates, but couldn't find any play said suspension was all ok. ive been using normal unleaded for the last well year i spose. probally about 2.5k miles. just read through some old posts explaining dont ever do it its bad for your engine due to pinking! ooops! it drove so much better when i threw some superunleaded in today. i wonder hopw many others have been doing this not knowing

I had driven my Z for approx 20 miles today before stopping at a set of lights, as soon as I had stopped I noticed lots of smoke blowing past me, it was coming out of the exhaust. It was quite a substantial amount - enough to make me close my window as it began to come inside the car, it soon cleared and by the time the lights changed it was completely clear and didnt smoke again for the rest of the journey... The smoke smelt, but I dont recall it being very blue in colour. Although it did all happen quite quick as I wasnt expecting it. Is this a sign of poor turbo seals? or something else? Looking into replacing my tubular manifolds with cast ones, but a little confused on which is the best. AMS seem to be a cheap copy of the Mike Smith ones is this correct and if so would you stay clear of them, and buy the more expensive MS ones? what you peeps reckon? Just wanted to say a big thank you to John Dixon, whos been helping me with the next part of finishing my car off, the engine management and tuning. Went round to Johns a few weekends ago, for a trial fitment and prep the car ready for tuning, John spent a good day working on the car. The other Monday, set off early, picked up John near Coventry and drove over to Emerald. Unfortunately time wasnt on our side so didnt get the car mapped that day. I saw these rear kits on some forum and literally felt in love specially with the black one; I´m not sure if it´s Strosek; don´t look like to 2 me..but was wondering if someone knew exactly the Kit; and where to buy it and get it installed? for wot it looks like I might have to remove the spoiler? or perhaps it could be kept also..while installing it?
