its a thought that keeps poping into my head, amougst the things i want to get done is an manual conversion. I think it will really give the car a funner edge and better driving experince. Im aware that zed world offer it as a service for a cost and taht is possibly an option, but whats the price difference doing it yourself? Ive done plently of clutch replacements so im not to bothered about the nuts and bolts of it. just the electrical side of it. im assuming i would need: manual gearbox manual gear selector flywheel uprated clutch(standard is crap?) clutch and brake pedal manual master cyldner? what else would i need and how much would should i expe…

Ok here is a fun one for you, customer removed his own gearbox when rebuilding his engine, was surprised to find the damage you can see in the pics, so he replaced the front gearbox section ( the new silver bit) when unfortunately the box was removed again ( another issue) he was disappointed to find the damage had occurred again, so hence we ended up with the task of finding the cause and the cure, so ok guys get guessing. Will add more details / clues as we go on. Jeff TT

Recently had my fronts replaced and now time to get my rears done. I'm having Falken 452 all round. Had them on a previous car and really rate them. However, just wondering how you guys are finding prices at the moment? been quoted £120 each for 265/35/18. Is this good? Thanks for any input. :yinyang:

Has anyone ever taken their Z out onto a track? Toying with the idea of buying a trackday car but dollars not stretching to a dedicated track toy so wondered if I could take the Z instead? Just wondered if anyone had taken a Z onto the track - how do you find it? Are greasy/damp tracks a worry with rwd?

Gear selection problems can be caused by many issues but one that seems to rear its head occasionally is pivot ball failure. For many years now up-rated ones have been available and usually come part of upgrade kits, we always advise fitting these as part of any change upgrade or standard as its not worth the hassle later. So here is a classic pivot ball failure with a little twist in the tail, the ball head breaks away but is often kept in place by the retaining clip, as a result the breakage can go unnoticed for a while however every time the clutch is depress the ball head is mashed in to the remaining pivot shaft until the lever arm slips sideways. In this case …

My aftermarket Stack Boost Gauge does not rest at zero, it is under at approx 1.5 out  I also know it's 'out' as my EBC records the peak and is always a higher reading than what my eyes see on the gauge :pinch: It is this gauge http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p13905/STACK-BOOST-PRESSURE-GAUGE--30-TO-+30PSI/product_info.html As the thread title hints - how can I get it or adjust so it sits at zero. Thank you. :helpsmilie:

I read on these pages that somebody had what sounded like the exhaust blowing, one reply stated that the AIV as a cannister and this fills up, the noise could be coming from here which is somewhere near the wings on each side? Does this cannister need emptying is another question I have? Mine as been 'blowing' for about 6 weeks now, it just started one day and as not got any worse, not really causing me any bother. I have been under the car with it running and is near on impossible to locate where this noise is coming from, the exhaust is perfect by the way, it was suggested it could be from the manifold? :surrender: Now, lunchtime today, started perfect from …

  17. Not looking like a decent set of 2nd handers around. had my existing 450cc injectors flow tested and wasn't happy {ignore my rides section... was told I had 740's by seller, but just wasn't the case}. if i don't find a good used set Tuesday, I am going to bite the bullet and buy a set of new ones. Any suggestions on where, why and for how much I should and probably will be looking at? I've got a pre '94 car.... so I may have to buy a rail also... depending on which way I go. I prefer 650cc's. am being pushed to get 740's,, but would look at 550's Regardless of cost, I'm going to have to order some by tuesday... so any advice, insight is much …

In the 3 years iv owned this car (na and tt) it's always had a crap battary. Ie it would be randomly flat if I left it over night and would leak from the top after a long drive. So I replaced it after the tt conversion, the exact same thing is happening again it's only been in for a few months and it's flat again not holding charge and it's leaking from the top... Assuming iv not accidentaly bought another duff battary that just happened to have the same problem I'm assuming there is some sort of voltage regulator? I get the feeling it's over charging? Is it a case of new alternater? Or new regulater? Because obvioulsy iv had the same battary fault with two diff…
