As you can see the wheels are in a bit of a state, mainly because they are laquered and water has got under it! The good news is they are save-able with a bit (lot!) of work, this is the first one,240 grit to 800 and bloody sore fingers!:sweatdrop: Just started to buff it tonight but got too dark -if they all get to this stage I'll be chuffed as I love the rims.Oh! and I Won't be laquering them! Only three more..........................:surrender:

I have been having vibration issues lately so jacked the car up today and checked for play in any suspension components at the front. I have discovered when holding the wheel at top and bottom i can feel play something but is so difficult to see or feel what it is when you need both hands on the wheel to make it clunk backwards and forwards. I "think" its coming from the large joint with the rubber cap which covers the upper castle nut. can it be re-packed with grease or is it a new component? Its either this or the upper camber arm as i can actually see the movement in this but i feel its not this thats giving the movement.. has anyone else experienced thi…

Guys looking at replacing my standard d/pipies for some nice divorced s/steel ones. After looking at it from below, looks like (f***all access this way)and talking to Andy (Ish) I have been told that it is doable from attacking it from above and the underside. Has anyone done this with the engine in place? if so apart from growing arms like MR Tickle, could anyone give any usefull pointers. If it helps I will be removing the plenum later on so that should be easier right? :hammer: thanks H

Stupidly i just thrown out these hoses as they were damaged, what i never checked was if the hoses contain any restrictors or valves inside. Can anyone tell me if these can be replaced with straight hoses or not ? Heres a pic of the covers with the missing pipes in the middle : Cheers Lee

Well, stripped the front end down to day trying to find this water leak, well i can now rule out. Front intake pipe's Rubber hoses connecting intake pipe to engine. The water pump is leaking dead bottom of its seal. but I'm having trouble getting the lower cam belt cover off, due to the fact i have nothing to pull the bloody cam pulley off with lol What am i going to need to pull the bugger? may as well change me timing belt as well while im there i suppose as its now open to the elements. So she is officially off the road again lol

Just found this plug down the passenger side of the plenum, just below the dipstick. Car was running fine before I put her up on the axle stands to swap the IC's, and I've only removed the CC and haven't (KNOWINGLY) disconnected anything else. So I am assuming that this is some redundant system. Probably nothing to worry about......I hope. cheers, H

its a thought that keeps poping into my head, amougst the things i want to get done is an manual conversion. I think it will really give the car a funner edge and better driving experince. Im aware that zed world offer it as a service for a cost and taht is possibly an option, but whats the price difference doing it yourself? Ive done plently of clutch replacements so im not to bothered about the nuts and bolts of it. just the electrical side of it. im assuming i would need: manual gearbox manual gear selector flywheel uprated clutch(standard is crap?) clutch and brake pedal manual master cyldner? what else would i need and how much would should i expe…

Ok here is a fun one for you, customer removed his own gearbox when rebuilding his engine, was surprised to find the damage you can see in the pics, so he replaced the front gearbox section ( the new silver bit) when unfortunately the box was removed again ( another issue) he was disappointed to find the damage had occurred again, so hence we ended up with the task of finding the cause and the cure, so ok guys get guessing. Will add more details / clues as we go on. Jeff TT

Recently had my fronts replaced and now time to get my rears done. I'm having Falken 452 all round. Had them on a previous car and really rate them. However, just wondering how you guys are finding prices at the moment? been quoted £120 each for 265/35/18. Is this good? Thanks for any input. :yinyang:

Just wondered if anyone had taken a Z onto the track - how do you find it? Are greasy/damp tracks a worry with rwd?

Gear selection problems can be caused by many issues but one that seems to rear its head occasionally is pivot ball failure. For many years now up-rated ones have been available and usually come part of upgrade kits, we always advise fitting these as part of any change upgrade or standard as its not worth the hassle later. So here is a classic pivot ball failure with a little twist in the tail, the ball head breaks away but is often kept in place by the retaining clip, as a result the breakage can go unnoticed for a while however every time the clutch is depress the ball head is mashed in to the remaining pivot shaft until the lever arm slips sideways. In this case …
