Just upgraded my boot install with an additional Genesis amp and a JL 10W6. 1st thing is the silver ring round the W6. Although it's a signature feature, I'm finding it jarring on my eye. Opinions please!! Any suggestions welcome. Was thinking of spaying it satin black. 2nd thing is - any ideas on pepping up the plastic boot panels. Mine are looking a little tired with a few scratches and marks. 3rd thing - do you like my two amps side by side!! LOL!! I've always liked the finish on Genesis kit let alone the awesome sound quality. Did it all my self you know!! (which is evident on close inspection hence the poor quality photos!!) :tt2:

Hey Guys. All the info is in this thread: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=152933 I figured I posted it in the wrong area, the update is at the bottom of it (last 4 or so posts). If anyone in this section can help it'd be much appreciated. Thanks

right this is my maths. (rim width/half) to find the wheels centre. then plus or minus the offset to find out where the rear face of the wheel would sit. by that centre line so. (rim width/half)+? then measure the resulting number from the hub face out to the arch and see where it lies..... is that correct? ie a 245 rim with an offset of -33 would sit 89.9 mm away from the hub face. :detective: i think im right its just i cant spell very well and the maths isnt exactly top notch neither.

Got the engine and box out in one today, only pain was, although i drained the gearbox oil, more gushed out the back as we lifted it at an angle, managed to catch most of it, but had to jetwash the drive off ready for tomorrow. Cleaned the engine bay of grease and grime, ready to paint then hopefully new engine and box in on thurs :thumbup1: Had no major problems apart from a subframe bolt spinning, but got that welded to get it off and a new one to go back in, so far so good. Took a couple of pics with the engine in the air, would have taken more, but got covered in oil. Will take some pics of the new one going in as its nice and clean

I bought a sump plug a while ago from Z1 and fitted it yesterday whilst doing and engine flush. When I dropped the second lot of oil I saw some debris on the magnet. I thought - that's cool it's obviously doing it's job. But NO! The magnet on the end of the sump plug had fowled a baffle plate inside (I assume) and half of it had disintegrated and the debris was the broken bits of the magnet its self. I'm not sure if i have all of the magnet pieces but I hope so. If not, then that means there are bits of magnet debris somewhere in my block! When I compared the length of the two sump plugs, the magnet was about 4mm longer than standard - just enough to cause …

How is an Engine Oil Made? There are two main components that all engine oils are made of, basestocks and the additive package. The base fluid typically makes up the bulk of the oil (70-95%). Additive chemicals are then added to enhance the positive qualities of the basestocks and to overcome whatever negative qualities there may be. There are two main types of basestocks, petroleum and synthetic. Petroleum basestocks are a purified form of crude oil and have been used as the base for automotive lubricants since motor oils were first developed. Synthetic basestocks, on the other hand, are chemically engineered in a lab specifically for the purpose of l…
