So, a little after 6 weeks of having my car back I think its developing another wallet busting mechanical issue :helpsmilie: I'm hearing too much from the gearbox recently. Particularly 2nd and 4th gear, which I'm guessing means there's a bearing going on that shaft? When I take it past 5 thou rpm in either of those gears i'm hearing a vibration/rattling noise which also transfers to the gear knob? I was hoping it might just be in need of an oil change ('box oil) so I've booked it in at Zedworld next week. But after two spirited driving sessions yesterday I'm pretty convinced it's shagged. It also seems to be getting more prominant. I know the synchros on t…

I've been planning some bypasses and deletes for the zed for a while now and one I really want to do is removing the carbon canister system. Unfortunately with it been a 1997, following the guide on Robo's site it says i should be throwing up quite a few error codes if I do this and I can't seem to find much more info elsewhere. Guide: http://s95014253.onlinehome.us/63104/6901.html I was just wondering given the site is getting on a little now has anyone come up with a way of doing this on a post 96 zed without getting the error codes? can the sensors not be fooled with a resistor or anything?

Just bought some Fuchs Titan Race Pro S full synth oil from Opie on special offer (buy 5 litres and get 1 free) and it was delivered damaged by the courier. Signed for by my neighbour, it sat on her step until I got home, by which time it had leaked all over her door mat and step! Dropped them an email and they quickly responded by sending me an entire 6 more litres and will also be sending me some cleaning products for my neighbours mat and doorstep!! I feel a bit guilty now as I have the best part of 11 litres of oil and only paid for 5/6 with the special offer!! :thumbup1:

A quick guide for anyone looking to fit stainless steel fuel lines, its a nice easy job but I couldn't see a guide elsewhere. Also for anyone looking to get a set, if your anything like myself I always like to see whats involved before I buy something. Engine bay before: 1. First things first, start by removing the following fuse from the small fuse box located by the brake master cylinder: 2. No picture need here, open the petrol cap to release preasure from the system then turn the engine over a few seconds to remove fuel from the lines. 3. Remove the throttle cable cover. Four screws hold this in place, the final one is at the rear of…

Well, nearly! Just got back from my travels yesterday, so there was about an inch of dust and plant debris on my car. I was out of Tripplewax shampoo, so nipped to Asda for a few car cleaning products. Got a carrier bag full of tins, magic potions and enough micro-fibre cloths to make a patch work quilt. There was an offer on the T-Cut and Car Polish - 4 quid for the lot. Then I spent the next 3 hours washing, drying, T-Cutting and polishing the Zed. The paintwork has looked a little tired for some time. Namely because I bought a cheapo car cover (before I got my targas fixed) that scratched all the paint above the wheelarches. Anyway, I could not believe the tr…

hi, just looking at different seats for the zed and would love buckets but i need rear access. has anyone used tilt brackets like these; http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Performance/Seats_Accessories/Seat_Mounting_Frames/Sparco_Tilt_Forward_Bracket/2012/0/17181 if so how are they do they still allow you to get rear access, all be it massively restricted and inconvenient?

Had a change of plan for my seats and these will be up for sale soon, they have been professionally fitted using real leather with red stitching and are less than 1 year old, drivers is electric and passenger is manual, not sure on a price yet but make some sensible offers and I can see what I can do, I havent got my new ones yet so they wont be for sale until the new ones turn up, but I`m just gauging interest first heres some pics, more on request Daz
