After having 2 zeds for a while i want to compile a basic list of regular checks that us as owners should be doing to help maintain and keep out cars alive. other than the usual checks such as oil, water, lights etc, what else should be checked in order to keep the car as good as can be. couple of ideas i have so far. 1. Targa drain tubes, check at least once a month, to ensure the pipe is clear and draining away. As nissan decided to join two bits of pipe with a metal insert. if it gets blocked over time, the insert then rusts away, thus emptying water into the bodywork, causing sill damage. 2. wind deflectors. check every 2-3 months. just a bit of silicone spray w…

Well i think the time has come to finally take my engine out!!! I have got poor idleing at the mo plus i sometimes get blue smoke on idle and i have low boost! so im thinking i want to check and recondition the turbos. plus the tax is due and im buying some down pipes and de cats. i also need to do the rocker cover gaskets, the centre prop bearing, some welding, new det sensor and a water by pass! Im also thinking ill change the clutch while im there but is there anything else i should do while the engine is out? Cambelt has already been done. Also can anyone recommend a company to replace/recondition my turbos? thanks

oh, just a question..... This wont fit on my 300 ;-/ the plastic blue clips are in the wrong places and the brake light plastics where the screws are set in get stuck on the metal ‘o’ rings they’re meant to go through to fasten. It wont be pushed in the old brake hole for the old spoiler, any ideas??? I've now developed a bloody hairline fracture in the thing and think I am going to have to go over it in silver to match the bodywork... maybe mould it into the tailgate ggggggrrrrrrrrrr, I was so careful too! If you do get one, the Z Centre sells them and is fookin' lush!

had a small code brown emergency tonight! was sitting in traffic when the lights went green, so went to pull away and heard an almighty bang and then a constant kinda fizzle sound:cursing:. anyway pulled into a street a few yards down the road expecting death as the noise was seriously bad and was still doing it.... looked underneath...bone dry, lifted the bonnet to see that my bloody viscous fan had pulled a plastic bag of the street and tangled its self and was shredding it up and throwing it all over my bay:glare:. pulled it all off and all is well but what a scare i got, the noise was so loud i really was expecting the worst... but happy days:chinese:

Hi guys, Just wondering, this is for the new system I have bought in bits.... I have the divorced downpipes, the decats and the rear backboxes... I'm sure there is a piece missing in the middle where the original H pipe goes, what would go there with the new system as I gather the old H pipe is back to 2" from the going to be new 2.5"??? :helpsmilie:

My local trye garage only sells ZE912's, at £75 each. This seemed pretty reasonable to me, but is there a big difference between the ZE912 and the FK452's?

I've acquired a brand new fibreglass 89 spec spoiler from a member. after rubbing down with wet and dry, done 3 coats of primer, wet n dry between each coat, now had 3 coats of KH3 Nissan black, again with wet n dry between. shine looks fantastic. My question is. Is it better to polish to a super shine then lacquer with say 2 coats. or laquer then polish the hell out of it. I want it to last the way it looks now.

Driving along the other day with a mate in the car and he said that I had either a noisy wheel bearing or possibly diff. Q1. How do I tell what causing the noise, jack up car and check for movement by rocking wheel? Q2. How easy is it to fit new wheel bearing, do they need 'pressed' in? I don't really want to contemplate a new diff but, if so, how easy/difficult to fit a replacement? Q3. I've seen bearings on 'ebay' circa the £60 mark, would these be ok or should I be looking to spend more for better quality? As ever, all comments welcome from knowledgeable Zedders. Regards
