I have a Grid boost contoller fitted and last night I disconnected it to move it, and now it appears to have lost its settings as the boost is now a lot lower than it was. Does anyone know how I reset it?. the controller was already fitted and I have no manual for it and can find one on the internet.

Hi all, I was hoping someone may be able to guide me on this one. Recently I've got my Zed back on the road and frankly loving it again. Well apart from the bl**dy autobox. I had always planned to convert it and have a manual donor car sat waiting, but for now the auto has got to stay. If I could get it working properly it would be great. Basically in normal operation everything is fine, the gear changes are smooth. Overdrive button works, power and hold switches seem to do things!?! Dunno whether they're correct things or not? Anyway whenever you bury your foot into the carpet the revs rise to about 6500 rpm and then seem to bounce like its on the li…

Need to get my Z back on the road for next summer so looking around for a trimmer. How much are decent cow hides as one guy I met last week reckoned he would need £1500 up front to cover the cost of materials  Apart from the hides, replacement foam and thread, I can't see any other materials or am I missing something???? ....we me as his owner. Just thought I'd let people know that the Z passed with flying colours, the only thing was headlight aim! Not bad for a 16 year old car! It makes me very chuffed! Just a quick question, the car's now done 61,000 miles. Time for timing belt change....The car is pretty slick and going well, so should I do the half parts change or go the whole hog and do all water pumps, etc etc...Advice please? Cheers, Adam

Its just one thing after another.. Car mad a sound as it was tried to tbe started and then after that all that happens is all the dash lights go out and you get a load of wuring sounds from the car. Not like a grinding gear. More electrical interference. It carrys on for a while even with the ignition off. It sounds like the starter motor might be the noise and maybe the solinoid is shorting. the car bumpstarts fine and drove fine (Until the alternator belt through its self. Ill get on to that) So the RAC came out and said the earth has a high resistance and although is a bit better is not great. Could it be just this or is it still gonna be the starter???…

We've just put my engine back together after doing the upper and lower plenums and the car is running better than ever before, super smooth and sounds much much happier (There were air leaks in the plenum, because of missing threads, hence the need for a change of plenum), but now I have my stalling problem back. Obviously my TPS and AAIV are now way out from where Jeff set them at JAE (Thanks again for that Jeff) and I'm back to stalling at junctions and roundabouts and things :( If anyone near Doncaster has one (I'm happy to drive a reasonable distance to get to you) I'd really appreciate borrowing it for half an hour to set the car back up :D

hi gang, I'm after a bit of alternator advice. I have stripped my alternator to have the casing powder coated. I've had to drill out the bearing. I thought it would make sense to have the alternator reconned. Does anybody know anywhere that will do this? Or, is there anywhere that sells reconned 300zx alternators? Hopefully I could send down the casing and they will send back a lovely shiny alternator. :) Or, can I buy a recon kit? Thanks

Starting to get a bit irritated by this now, seems like most of the time the engine is at operating temp the fan is roaring stupidly loud when the engine is revved. I thought it was only after being parked up due to a bit of heat soak maybe but today I noticed it was roaring away even after a motorway drive when I shifted it to 2nd on the exit ramp. Can I assume that the viscous coupling has had it? Is there a test I can do?

I know a lot of people have changed the nuts and bolts for nice clean shiny ones, but has anyone here ever made a list of all the sizes of them that they would be willing to share on here?. Am now onto the stage of rebuilding the top end and would like to fit as many nice clean bolts to keep it looking as nice as i can, so any help on this would be hugely appreciated.

I'm about to put some split rims back together after powdercoating and polishing. Does anyone have any idea of the recommended torque for the fasteners? They are PIAA split rims with 25 fasteners per wheel. Each fastener is M8. Any advice appreciated.
