I have a set of fairlady shagpile mats in my zed but i cant seem to get them clean! I've tried all sorts of interior cleaners and carpet foam cleaners with the old dyson, but nothing seems to get them clean again. I can get most of the dirt out but still have brown patches and what appears to be sand in them. Anybody have any tips on cleaning them? They really let the interior look dirty at the minute :(

would UK rear lights fit an import ? What about an exhaust? Is it basically the same or not? Is there a list anywhere that says what fits and what does not? Cheers

Hi There, This is my first post and i have the following issue: I'm having a real problem getting hold of the light switch assembly for my 87 Z31 NA (for under £103.00!) but i found an identical unit from an '84 so got hold of it really cheap. As you probably know, the connector blocks are different. I was wondering, it must be a pretty straightforward job to remove the '84 plastic connectors and re-attach the wires into the '87 block. the stalks have exactly the same functionality right? (off, sides, headlights, flash and indicators) Just wondering if anyone knew why this wouldn't be possible? Cheers Mike

Hi guys, does anyone know the easiest way to drain the water out of a none running block? Just conscious of the fact it's getting colder by the day and the tt lump is still full of water.

Typically after selling my 360+hp mint 300zx (short of respray needed on wing/bumper) manual with long MOT/TAX for 1k , I was informed I could work from home, meaning I could afford the rediculous petrol costs... I have a raw CRX mk2 vtec modded up but it needs a little bodywork before itd sell for good money, and as we all know that's not cheap! I really miss being able to turn the world with my rear wheels and hear 6 cylinders and 2 turbos ripping up the tarmac :( I've looked around but prices seem to have soared for 300's.. I cant find any twin turbo manuals for near 1k and those that are seem to be rusy or have problems. I've emailed the guy who boug…

a job im planning on doing over the winter is a brake upgrade . ive searched through old posts and forum comments regarding calipers and discs etc etc . up to now im edging towards evo 8 calipers with 350z discs along with the neccesary relocation brackets but are there any alternatives from other doner vehicles . i read somewhere that jimmytt used porsche calipers . i cannot justify the outlay for a specific taylored set up like the d2 big brake set up so what are you guys using . caliper , disc combinations . any help on this would be much appreciated ie which caliper matches up with which discs and the work involved in making them fit . i have looked at some bigger…

Well I spent an hour or so today swapping my old stock rad for a Koyo upgrade As always it was a straight forward job, with the only real bit of work involving the cutting down of the SAMCO lower rad pipe to accomodate the new hard pipe section. The only question that I have really is regarding the lower hard pipe. At present in doesn't catch and sits nice and snug however there is an abvious lack of bracket to secure it in place and as such it appears to be just swinging freely, not much but still not completely secure. Is it going to be necessary to fabricate a bracket or will it be fine?

I've been given an estimate of £2,220 for my full respray. The bloke came over today and had a good look at the car and took lots of pics. The work they will be carrying out includes; Picking my zed up and dropping it back off (about 20mile roundtrip) 2pak paint, high build primer. Fix a large dent on the pass side rear qtr. Spray and install my 99spec spoiler. A little bit of welding on the sills (not rust related) They will be removing the bonnet, targas, front and rear bumpers, nose panel, doors and tailgate and spraying off car plus they will be doing the shut lines. The colour will be changing from GL1 black to KH3 black. I've done the maj…

Hello mates Imagine that i arrive to mechanic and see if the car is ready and then i am told that it should be but there's a problem that they yet to find why. The service asked was to make the 120k maintenance. Also 5 hydraulic lifters, injector and coil plugs were placed new. Problem is that even they say that timing belt is put right there's no compression on cylinder 5 and 6.... They say that the engine started a little rough and a few seconds after was much better but not 100%. Then they went to check compression and found the issue. Also these are cyl where lifters were swapped. The car was running fine before, just made the noise from lifters. …

Well i have got my zed running again. the trouble im have is that the left bank has a miss. (Can hear the exhaust spluttering) the drivers side is fine and idle seems ok. I had this fault before i removed the plenum as i thought it was the injectors. The connections where all s*** but i have now replaced all the connectors with new and have spent loads of time cleaning and replacing some of the injectors. there is also new seals in all the injectors. Also all my coil pack connectors are good. When i unplug the coils in turn there is a noticable drop in revs on all 6 cylinders which is why im confused as i cant work out which cylinder is at fault. Is there anyw…

Following on from my "Whats it worth thread", I wondered what kinda money people have thrown at a 20yr old car, I know as with any enthusiasts car there instant money pits, And ive come to the conclusion im never buying a project again!!! Without including the cost of the car or general service items ive had a tally up today and im at £14,885 since October 09. I know ive prob missed stuff aswell. Christ you can pick up a complete modded car now for half that. So why do we bother??????? I know its all down to personal circumstances on what people can afford but are we nuts or what??? Just wondering what other peoples thoughts were? Craig

Having some issues with getting my car running right. Wondered if there is anyone local who knows how to set up the basics like CAS, TPS etc and the erratic idling i'm having. Thought We had it sorted at the weekend, but it still doesn't seem right and wondered if someone could share their expertise before I start to run the engine in after the rebuild. We've got this far and don't want to screw it up right at the end. Thanks in advance. Ant

right i started my new job with Nissan today nothing fancy im just running their parts dept, but on looking around in the storage car park i found a white TT auto zed just sitting their, apparently it was kept after the owner couldn't pay for the repairs and actually belongs to the garage now. they have done most of the work before it got stored, found the only fault (apart from being put back together is the main oil galley is block (not flowing right) on one bank, descried as a fluttering noise whilst running, any idea on fixing it, id hate to leave it their the old owner was a body shop guy its mint (apart from a years worth of dirt. )

As i burst my second braided hose last week (and z centre are taking the piss sending me a new one) I have being thinking about changing the layout. I have a single hose from the master to the slave and unfortunately it is running dangerously close to the exhaust/turbo's. I know there is a few bits "trunking" to run the hose through to keep it away, but i still think it's a pretty shit system. My initial idea was to somehow get a longer hose and reroute it a completely different way, however i came to the conclusion that it would have to be custom made and may well be more chew than its worth. So after speaking to the ever helpful zedworld team, the idea was put in my hea…

Am almost finished rebuilding my new engine, but would like some help with doing a egr delete, and water bypass. I only have this evening available to do this and then not got any chance to do much more for the next 3wks :-(. So if anyone local has done this and could spare some time to help then it would be a great help. Thankyou. dave.

Unfortunately im considering selling the zed, I dread to think how much Ive spend on her but its over 10k in the last 2 years as theres very little that I havent replaced or upgraded, and she needs very little now to make her just about perfect, Engines running sweet as a nut just needs zedworld to give her the once over and get the AVCR setup. she has 12months 12 months tax. Looking at a new house and work is so busy. I havent completely made my mind up yet I just wanna get a feel for what its worth, I know ill loose a fortune. Take a look in my rides for full specs. All thoughts welcome. Cheers Craig
