after 2 years of ownership i finally got round to getting a Zedworld chip upgrade done today . Truly Awesome is the only way i can describe it . on start up she sounded smoother and a bit quieter . ran her around for a few minutes to get her warm and then gave her the beans on a straight bit of road . the difference was amazing . she absolutely flew , i nearly shit myself and the mrs squeeled like the time i came home from work early and caught her sitting on the washing machine . every zed owner should have one of these fitted . i thought she was quick before but i reckon she must be at least a second quicker to 60 now . go on boys treat yourselves . thanks j…

Boost and air leaks are a way of life for us in the workshop, but occasionally even we see odd ones that merit a photo or two. So to start with the leak was too large to build any pressure in the intake system and this makes it harder to locate as there is no sound, so we insert a smoke bomb into the afm intake and then when we pressurise again the general location of the leak can be seen as the smoke is forced out of the leak point. So having done the smoke test the general location was at the passenger side towards the back, so following a quick battery removal there now was more access to check it out. So with the extra access we again did a…

The old one is knackered and proper rusty underneath, quite amazingly the bootlid is almost completely rust free :sweatdrop: My mate started up his own bodyshop a few months back so did my spoiler for £30 as I wired up his booth for him, its gonna be the shiniest bit on the car, but I think it will prompt me to get my Z resprayed - he's already quoted me £500 for that. Anyway heres my new spoiler, its a D-Speed one, similar to the OEM one just a little longer :cool2: Off to get some tiger seal or equivalent tomorrow and get it fitted, more pics to follow.

The plenum off my other engine is polished and powdercoated and to be fair it's a pretty good job (what is it they say about polishing a turd???anyway I digress...) What I want to do is change the colour from the current silver powdercoat to a shade of blue similar to that of the SAMCO hoses I was wondering if anybody could tell me, what would be the best course of action here? does the plenum have to be sand blasted and then re-powdercoated blue or would a simple rub down and re-spray suffice? thanks

Not really a kick in the nuts as I was going to upgrade the rad on the shortie' anyway I saw a similar issue highlighted on a recent thread where the top connector on the stock rad had deteriate over time and eventually had gone brittle and broken away. The piece that's broken away on mine is still in the stock upper radiator hose so it won't be causing any dramas later on down the line I was in the process of fitting my new SAMCO hoses, then figured that if I was going to have to replace the rad anyway I might as well hold fire on fitting the lower radiator hose (still need to fit jubilee clips obviously) What I wante…

Ok I've spoken to Greg (Protuner) and the shortie's off up to Redditch shortly Greg's gonna' put the shortie' on the dyno in it's current guise so we can see what figures we are starting with Currently the shortie's stock apart from: Single intake (Blitz I think) Straight through de-cat full exhaust system *possibly boost jets fitted??? Now the 'Tzech' engine has to be rebuilt which will obviously take some time and money (it's confirmed it does have forged internals :sweatdrop:), therefore in the meantime I want to utilise as many of the bolt on parts as possible and cross deck them onto the shortie' It looks like I'm going to ha…

Following on from my prepping the zed for paint thread; I've taken some pictures of the dent on the pass side rear qtr. I could fix it myself with the worlds supply of filler but that would probably only end in tears. lol. I'd much rather that a body shop pulled it out as much as possible and then filled whats left. How much roughly would I be looking at to have this pulled and filled by a bodyshop? I don't need it painted as the car is getting a respray. Or would it be cheaper to cut out and replace with another rear qtr of a breaker? I'm thinking that it would be better to replace the dented sill with a new panel anyway. The door…

I'm in the middle of prepping my zed for a professional spray job. I'm doing all the prep myself, except one dent I can't fix, to save some money. The problem I've got is knowing when to stop..lol Should I just sand and fill the little dings etc, then primer on the repair. The rest of the bodywork will get a key/sanding for the fresh paint. OR should I do all the above and primer the whole car (primer will be a decent rattle can quality). I would then flat it all back ready for paint. The main dent is on the pass side rear quarter and will need to be repaired by the body shop that does the paint job, it's far beyond my abilities to fix :( So I won't be touchin…
