With this being only my second week of zed ownership I was wondering about cambelt changes.ive come over to zeds from a v6 calibra (3.0 omega engine) and with those you have to change the tensioner and rollers at the same time as the belt.is it the same for zed engines?.i changed the cambelt kit on the calibra myself, is it any harder to do on a zed?, obviously the parts that have to be removed are different but I suppose the principle is the same.are any special tools needed to lock the cams etc Any advice is appreciated, cheers :)

hi all, in the middle of the timing belt change. (done changes before on the old 200sx) was reading the manual for the timing belt change and came to the section about Removing the SparkPlugs. do i need to do this? (cant see a reason to remove them) Why do you have to move the crank 10Degs when installing the auto tension tension, seen on page EM19. is it to bed in tensioner? was just going to line it all up and rotate the crank just to make sure nothing hits inside last question, honest.. what page is the timing setup on (strobe light etc) cant find it cheers :clown:

I've just fitted my HKS din panel, which fits nicely above the CD player but now I have to find somewhere to mount my electric gizzmo's gizzmo's include the following: - Greddy boost controller - Greddy turbo timer and - Tein EDFC controller I don't want to hide them away in the glove box as I wouldn't have ease of access to be able to adjust boost and damping. Where have you guys mounted yours??? any suggestions???

hi folks, have got a Greddy turbo timer to fit and there is a wire that goes to the speed sensor wire on the ecu.does anyone know which pin this is and the colour of the wire.thanks in advance :)

Grrr!! This is doing my nut in now, for every one thing I reinstall I have to remove two others to give myself space to work! I wouldn't mind so much but the first time I pulled the engine I had no real probs at all! I'm now at a bit of an impasse, engine and box are in, just come to reinstall the steering UJ/knuckle and find the 5 bolt downpipes I bought with the Z1 turbo kit are right in the way, the pipes need to be about 5mm toward the passenger side or vice versa for the steering connector shaft. I bought some mesh to cover the bottom section of my 89 front bumper. Want to stop all the leaves and crap getting sucked into the rads. Anyway the stuff I got is a 15mm x 8 mm diamond pattern, now that it's arrived I'm worried that it might be a little small and end up causing a problem at speed. Is the mesh to small or am I worring about nothing?

This has always been one of my favourite Z photos- I think Nissan got the front end almost right from day one apart from 4 small things. 1. The tram lines that run along the top edge of the bumper (I don't know what it is with nissan and two lines!! - don't get me started on 99 spec rear lights!!) 2. The bars in the intercooler ducts were too fussy. 3. The side profile had a bit of an overbite. 4. That bloody stone guard! No matter if I put the temp at the lowest, there's still heat from the vents, I'm guessing the valve is operated by a motor, any ideas on what to try/where to look? Cheers

Hi guys, stupidly forgot to check which line went to which metal pipe for the oil cooler when I took the engine out. Can someone confirm that the drain line to the sump is connected to the lower of the two pipes please? i.e. drivers side of the cooler. Also would it really matter which way round they went?? Any check valves etc?? I can't find a reference in the online manual :( Cheers H

i took me zed upto zedworld a few weeks ago for a conzultz test due to the boost not giving me the kick it used to be. jeff diagnosed the problem as retarded timing and put it right, all was good for a few hundred miles, but now its gone back to lacking power. is it possible for the the timing to go out in that short a time? i know the engine was rebuilt about 7000 miles ago so can only ssuming the timing belt was replaced then. also it has new hybrid turbos fitted any ideas please

Just started to remove the headbolts 13 of them came out without a problem but 3 of them were torqued down so tight that they've rounded off....not my f**king day!! short of strapping some PE4 and det cord to this piece of shite engine, any ideas how to go about removing them now? thanks in advance

just a quicky now the car is running smoothly im going to take her for MOT on weds, But im just wondering does anyone know if there is anything that says your rear fog has to be a certain brightness?? I know its not allowed to be pink. I ask because I have done and LED conversion in the centre panel and had it tinted (see my rides) however it isnt as bright during the day as id like?? ive got a stick on the bumper jobbie to hand just incase but hoping i dont need it.
