... said with the pure innocence that only a young person can posses: "Oi brokeback... you wanna come for a walk to the toilet?" I shit you not, having spat my beer all down my shirt, I very nearly pissed myself there and then! What was your favourite quote of the weekend?

With this being only my second week of zed ownership I was wondering about cambelt changes.ive come over to zeds from a v6 calibra (3.0 omega engine) and with those you have to change the tensioner and rollers at the same time as the belt.is it the same for zed engines?.i changed the cambelt kit on the calibra myself, is it any harder to do on a zed?, obviously the parts that have to be removed are different but I suppose the principle is the same.are any special tools needed to lock the cams etc Any advice is appreciated, cheers :)

hi all, in the middle of the timing belt change. (done changes before on the old 200sx) was reading the manual for the timing belt change and came to the section about Removing the SparkPlugs. do i need to do this? (cant see a reason to remove them) Why do you have to move the crank 10Degs when installing the auto tension tension, seen on page EM19. is it to bed in tensioner? was just going to line it all up and rotate the crank just to make sure nothing hits inside last question, honest.. what page is the timing setup on (strobe light etc) cant find it cheers :clown:

I've just fitted my HKS din panel, which fits nicely above the CD player but now I have to find somewhere to mount my electric gizzmo's gizzmo's include the following: - Greddy boost controller - Greddy turbo timer and - Tein EDFC controller I don't want to hide them away in the glove box as I wouldn't have ease of access to be able to adjust boost and damping. Where have you guys mounted yours??? any suggestions???

Just parked my 19 year old red zed at a certain fast food outlet at the weekend and walked in the door to overhear a little lad tell his dad "that man just got out of the fastest, bestest, most fabulous car on the planet!" Nothing like a little exaggeration to make you smile!

Grrr!! This is doing my nut in now, for every one thing I reinstall I have to remove two others to give myself space to work! I wouldn't mind so much but the first time I pulled the engine I had no real probs at all! I'm now at a bit of an impasse, engine and box are in, just come to reinstall the steering UJ/knuckle and find the 5 bolt downpipes I bought with the Z1 turbo kit are right in the way, the pipes need to be about 5mm toward the passenger side or vice versa for the steering connector shaft. I've read that some folks have made some mods to allow 3" downpipes to be fitted, how is this done?? Mine are only 2.5" Z1 items. Short of hitting it with a l…

I bought some mesh to cover the bottom section of my 89 front bumper. Want to stop all the leaves and crap getting sucked into the rads. Anyway the stuff I got is a 15mm x 8 mm diamond pattern, now that it's arrived I'm worried that it might be a little small and end up causing a problem at speed. Is the mesh to small or am I worring about nothing?

Right having spoken to a lot of you at JAE and heard the obvious concerns in relation to what other clubs had to offer, plus going around and seeing other club stands. I think for next year ill be concentrating on getting a bit of entertainment going on. I have a projector so thats not a problem, and also we have sound. but what i was thinking along the lines off was something a bit special. My friend who i DJ with runs his own DJing business and gets hired out for all sorts of events. and if we can get the correct generator that doesnt induce spikes into the system id like to see about hiring him out on the saturday night. (though if i paid for his ticket…

Thought it might be interesting to collate some of the information from the ConZults we done at JAE it shows some particular similar issues and an increase over last year with thermostats failing in the open position, some of the missing info was due in part to not having pens and paper that work well in the rain! Jeff TT Nick d 300z Mileage 104, 829 J reg. Faults found 1 ) Det sensor circuit failed 2 ) Loose connection to idle solenoid 3) Timing 1 deg retarded 4) Throttle balance adjustment required ........................... Wide arch Mileage 122,…

Well peeps for those who are interested here is the full nine yards!! This has always been one of my favourite Z photos- I think Nissan got the front end almost right from day one apart from 4 small things. 1. The tram lines that run along the top edge of the bumper (I don't know what it is with nissan and two lines!! - don't get me started on 99 spec rear lights!!) 2. The bars in the intercooler ducts were too fussy. 3. The side profile had a bit of an overbite. 4. That bloody stone guard! So I decided to look around at 99 spec, Greddy Gracer, Twinz, Abflug etc but found myself wanting to keep things faithfull to the old design. …

Check the fuse box first, even if you think there shouldn't be a fuse for it, check anyway. Well I had a brainwave whilst snoozing last night and I have all the bits to complete my project perfectly and I know you will all love it and want to copy. Just at the trial stage at the minute but whatever 'it' is, it looks very very nice - here is a sneaky peek of just a fraction of it, sure it will give it away to some who know me too well

No matter if I put the temp at the lowest, there's still heat from the vents, I'm guessing the valve is operated by a motor, any ideas on what to try/where to look? Cheers

Hi guys, stupidly forgot to check which line went to which metal pipe for the oil cooler when I took the engine out. Can someone confirm that the drain line to the sump is connected to the lower of the two pipes please? i.e. drivers side of the cooler. Also would it really matter which way round they went?? Any check valves etc?? I can't find a reference in the online manual :( Cheers H

i took me zed upto zedworld a few weeks ago for a conzultz test due to the boost not giving me the kick it used to be. jeff diagnosed the problem as retarded timing and put it right, all was good for a few hundred miles, but now its gone back to lacking power. is it possible for the the timing to go out in that short a time? i know the engine was rebuilt about 7000 miles ago so can only ssuming the timing belt was replaced then. also it has new hybrid turbos fitted any ideas please
