would a failed water pump cause the heater not to blow hot air through the vents, although both upper and lower rad hoses are warm and the radiator is warm on both sides. this is with the car up to temperature, and yes after a few mins the temp gauge goes up so i shut it down.. i dont have any water leaks at the front, but when i rev the engine i do hear a 'squeel' from the front of the engine area.

Was looking forward to racing at Japshow Finale at the weekend. Cruising up with the Hampshire Jap Car club boys (yes I know - Asot is not in Hampshire) and some spirited overtaking insued. Oooooh some of us where doing up to 70mph!! Not any faster than that at all I swear on the bible. Not at all, not even a little bit over! Any way, after booting it a few times the car started to hesitate under load!! It got progressively worse down the rev range until pulling away from a junction was like having an epileptic fit! Luckily by this time I was right outside Sant Pod!! Not a good start to my morning!! Unpacked the wendy House and set up be…

Hi folks. My car has developed a really bad idle. i couldnt adjust it with the aac valve adjusting screw so fitted with a new iacv unit. still lumpy. ive checked all connectors and the one going to the ficd solenoid is only gettin a feed from ground side. ive traced it back to the ecu where its sending the feed and tried a known working ecu too which hasnt helped. it might be a broken wire somewhere in the loom. so ill need to try that. but also when i did a leak test there was a slight leak in the plenum. so my question is this, would the ficd cause the revs to bounce on idle and almost cut out or could it be the air leak causing this. it seems to be getting worse. befor…

just wondering if anyone has had similar issues, was driving home from work at midnight last night, put my foot down to overtake some idiot doing 40 in a 60 and when i took my foot off the throttle, the throttle stayed where it was and the zed carried on accelerating!!! managed to get it into neutral and get it to the side of the road before anything worse happened, got the torch out and lifted the bonnet and on of the metal pipes that comes out of the rocker cover had moved out and wedged against the throttle body!! pushed it back in and got the car home, was just a really strange thing to happen, had i not been on a straight road could have ended badly...

Don't even think about it!! lol!! I come back from Japshow Finale and every thread with club suggestions is deleted and/or closed!! You lot can't be left on your own for five minutes!!! And as for the members....:whistling: Only kidding! Right so, back to the point - For me, it's simple. 1. The club bank account grows by "an amount" per year. Fact. the figures are here http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=94723 but I can't tell if it's £1,500 or £2,500 after expenses per year. This is great news!! 2. The club account presently has £25,000 of the members money in it. Fact 3. Since the inception of the club there has never been a £25…

With the window down on my Zed, I can smell exhaust fumes even when driving around 40~50mph. I seem to remember this on my last zx too, and just wondered if it is an inherent fault to all Zeds? There's no smoke from the exhausts, no oil dropping onto the exhausts/turbo's and no smoke from around the turbo area? I have the UK version and wondered if the front outermost lights in the spoiler were meant to be hooked up? Since I don't have fogs, the indicators and sidelights are there instead...

I was wondering if Zeds came from the factory with a fob for the cetral locking, or was an alarm usually added to achieve locking via a fob? I seem to remember the pulse wires were in the drivers door? I bought this car with the air con not working - the belt was removed. I have fitted a new belt to prove that the idler etc isn't running noisy, I'm guessing now that there isn't any gas in the system. I want to get this up and running but would like to know where the pressure sensor is located so I can verify that the e/m clutch on the compressor works/rotates before shelling out for a re-gas. Cheers.

zeds been running fine for almost a week now, but the other morning i went out and started her up and she has developed a rather noticeable misfire, like shes hunting on tick over, which is bloody annoying. Just to let everyone know, its a new wiring loom on the zed. day before id taken her down to the garage to get some milk, got home and it was running fine, the next day it was hunting. also gave it a few beans the other day while joining the dual carriageway as wanted to see what she could do, the auto box seemed to take ages to change gear (think it might of done it when it reached the rev limiter) i had a double pop like back fire, and then crap loads of sm…

Firstly apologies, I hadn't forgotten about you. It's been a hectic summer with the problems i had that ended up finishing off the V8 project for good but i'll fill you in later on that. As i replied to Ian in another thread I haven't had a chance to organise anything so i was thinking get the summer out the way then sort something out finally. So if you guys are free bonfire night weekend (bonfire night falls on the saturday) we could have a meet up on the friday or sunday for a bbq? Let me know if that's good for you and if not we can shuffle dates around a bit. Cheers again for you help guys :) Nick

Eventually I've managed to get the engine out of the LWB zed, without the benefit of an engine hoist and with every nut and bolt seemingly taking the p**s, it wasn't the easiest job that I've carried out on the old girl, but hey it's done now....all I can say is thank God for creatine! *The internals are forged carrillo and Arias parts thank God* the hardest part was carrying the bloody thing on my tod through the house and garage without dripping oil everywhere anyway, it's currently up on the work bench but I'm planning on putting it onto the engine stand in the next day or so, which would give me some spare…

hi all I'm on with an engine swap in my 1990 tt manual. I'm just about to put the new engine into the car but have noticed there is a noticable amount to oil in the drivers side plenum when i open the butterfly valve, the pass side is clean with no oil. The engine seems to have had the pcvs changed and the turbos are apparently reconned. they have turbo technics id tags on them. What could be the cause ????? I really dont want to go through all the chew of putting the engine in, box on and everything else to find out the engines a dud.
