I'm a bit confused at the moment, I need a new Exedy clutch cover and Z1 have said that they can supply but here's the problem: Pic 1 is the Exedy twin plate clutch that I have for a 300zx TT Pic 2 is the Exedy twin plate clutch cover that Z1 stock and Pic 3 is the Exedy twin plate clutch cover that is available on Ebay any suggestions as to where to get one from; Exedy won't supply spare parts for some reason?

I may be getting a black zx early next year thats running around 450bhp at only 1bar of boost. Seen it run a 12.7 qtr mile at only 0.6bar. This wont be a keeper for me but a car to sell on. Question is.... who will be interested in it if i get it to move it on. would be around the 2k price and would have a full mot put on it. Its a black import with the very rare 1/4 light light up window glazing panels in. Lots of goodies including a AVCR boost controller, huge turbos capable of handling 350bhp each, nismo 555 injectors, lightened flywheel. and has full bodykit(although could do with tidying up). Inside has a one off alcantera/leather finish. Will g…

I reckon that the starter motor is on its way out on the shortie. Over the last few days, everytime I turn the key in the ignition to start her up it sounds similar to if you try turning the ignition on a car when it's already running.... on the second attempt it fires up ok, but only a matter of time before it fails completely. I've got a spare starter motor on my '91 LWB TT; I assume that it will fit a newer '95 SWB TT? The clutch needs replacing as a priority (the new one comes with flywheel already attached), would it make sense to do both at the same time, as I haven't got a clue where the starter motor is on a zed? Is it an easy job, chang…

well i today thought that id give her some more attention and do an oil flush using the wynns stuff so i did a little experement, i bought some cheap halfords oil and droped all the old oil out and put in the new halfords stuff followed by the engine flush just so i could see how much crud came out with the fresh oil anyway i put a dab of fresh oil on a white piece of paper and when i dropped the treated oil i put a dab of that next to it heres a pic of it, quite impressive really bearing in mind this oil was only in the car for the specified 15mins at 2000rpm and it was fresh

First had to replace my alternator - has been getting more & more lazy in the mornings to kick out a charge & put the light out - should have done it ages ago LOL. Got that done today. Next gave the paintwork a coat of Gard X protective sealant that our valeters use - should help in the winter months as will be using my car as always & not sticking it in a garage for the poorer time of the year LOL! Couple of pics just taken out the back of my garage

Been a shaky month really, car got left untouched for at least 4 weeks, i just wasn't happy with my progress the car is in the final parts of the main build, more plans to come gradually over the next 2-3 years. Has taken about 17 months so far, and i often found myself in the last month thinking about how close i am to completion, really how little there is to do to get it on the road. Usually i just can't seem to turn that desire into actualy working on it. I just think, i'm over it, and really feel like i'm getting nowhere with it. Today was a bit different i looked at her sitting there and decided it was time to get the dash and heater out and start running …

Just getting the exhaust on my Z and have gone blank on how the exhaust mounted by where the gearbox crossmember is. There is a big u shape bracket off the back of the gearbox with holes in it, but the rods from the exhaust are at the same height so i cant see how i could put a rubber piece on each one like the rest of the exhaust mounts at the rear of the system. Anybody got a picture of how it mounts up? i suspect i need another bracket or something but would have no idea what i'm looking for. Cheers!

As above really on two stupid items, one was the examiners fault = emissions, i had to prove that the car was 1990 let alone trying to explain that the zed isnt in the database, but he said now that they need proof for a pre cat test. I took it to him last year with no problems, so i wonder why it should be any different this year  Second item, which to be fair i knew about, but after double checking everything was working i totally forgot to sort it = the japspeed drivers manifold touching the steering rod  forgot to hammer it :cursing: Anyway its going back in monday for the retest which it will now pass, so im not too unhappy :phone:

well its been 30mins since i did the block test kit and guess what? it stayed blue this is the kit i got http://www.uktools.com/block-tester-p-12508.html well its still blue... so what on earth is causing my overheating issue. The car has only ever reached 127degrees once. all my testing I've never let the car get higher than 105 as I've shut the engine down once it approaches 100c So im now stumped But im glad its not a blown head gasket.

Lads. I hope you can help. it seems to be one thing after another at the moment with this car :( :( Ill start with the current situation. There are no major engine mods to the car Std turbos 154k miles One turbo has a leaky seal. It used to be stood for 90% of the month but is now my daily runner about 30 miles a day. has a proofec 2 boost controller. which is set to off at the moment to preserve the turbo until i cant get it fixed in the new year. Problem Every now and again say twice per tank of fuel.. at diffeent levels of fuel in 3rd gear foot to the floor accelerating it gets to 5.5k revs and can only be described as makes like it has h…

Kinda confused about wich ones are better...good friend of mine focused me on this on a comparison: On the Teins, there is no dampening adjustment so your spring rates basically change as you adjust your height. At full drop you'll be a lot stiffer than at normal ride height With the BC's, you can basically adjust height and dampening independently. So you can be at full drop and still adjust your dampening to suit your liking. So now I am dounting strongly if my best choice would be BC or Tein, are Tein softer than BC? and what other things to consider on eachother?
