ive decided bearing on budjet that its best to get the car to a certain standard things that i have on my list have been dropped in favour of others. as im working on a budjet ive tried to streamline to cut costs. for example my car does not need side skirts or a spanking iced out interoir. but theres something thats a hurdle for me. the air con. ive never known weather it just needs regassing or weather its fubared or what. the project is at a fork where this is concerned. because if it dosent work because its fubar and needs x spent on it it can go. il pull it straight out save some weight and simply the engine bay. but along with this comes the thought process …

Guys, The previous owner of my Z had it down at Zedworld not long back and is pretty certain they told him the car had an aftermarket ECU. I've contacted Jeff to see if they've recorded any details on their job sheet etc but he's not come back to me yet and so being the impatient type i pulled it out tonight to have a look. There's nothing obvious to me but thought i'd post some pics so that you experts can see if you can confirm whether or not it's aftermarket? Any idea what the little adjust-y thing is with the japanese sticker around it? Also, in the last pic what would that black connector plug go in to?

Was a little bored after putting the little ones to bed tonight, so went out to see where i could start on the Z. A little bit of pulling, and tugging and hey presto.... Wiper and spoiler gone :whistling: Can't get over the weight of that spoiler!

Hey guys, Any instructions on how to get a door window out?? From what I can think, 1) door trim off, 2) bolt in A pillar and then maybe 2 on the mechanism lifting the window.. Or is there more to it?? Kind wishes, Zee..:)

Right my water pump looks to have seized. I think im right in saying with the alternator belt off I should be able to spin it by hand???? If so its solid. It threw the belt off Sunday and I put it on again and the car would not start. Removed it and it did. Tried spinning the pump and it's solid. If this is the case the I take it it should be as simple as remove and flush the water ways and replace??? While apart anything I should also check and do??? I'm thinking cambelt while apart. Power steering pump (it's a bit grindy). Anything else??? Where is best to get the pump and belt from???

Hi guys. Merry Xmas! Hoping someone else will have installed the Doolz system and may have had the same problem. Mine is set up with extensions to relocate the filters in the stock intercooler locations (I have an FMIC so no room for two filters in stock location). I doubled the injection multipler (K constant) as the air flow has been halved. It runs poorly at idle like this - despite the idle AFR being quite good (around 14:1), it seems to be hunting some of the time - a bit like an intake leak would cause, it can suddenly increase to 9:1 or drop to 18:1. It may idle happily for 5 minutes or more. So I increased K, to richen it up a bit, it does idle a bit bet…

Hi guys, Don't know who else garages their car over the winter? I usually do this with any performance/classic cars I own, just to keep them in good order away from all the salt/grit and the worst of the weather, which can be bad where I am. This year I seem to miss the Zed like mad, using an MG ZR 1.4 as a daily driver which is painful as it's so bloody slow! Due to the ever increasing amount of grit on the roads and it being wet, the Zed probably won't come back out to play till March/April time, just see how the weather goes. Can always fire it up and listen to it burbling away I suppose hehe.

My wife has got me an open pit lane track day at Bedford aerodrome on 7th April. Never done a track day before and really excited! Will have to spend some time making sure the Z is ready for this and that it complies with the noise regs of 87.5db. Anyone been to this circuit and any hints and tips for prepping the Z? Anyone else fancy coming along? Merry crimbo!

does anybody have pics or diagrams of zx tt automatic jap radiators and what the various stabbings are for, reason i ask is i have just received my new radiator from hollowpoint ( thankyou ) and it seems to have two small diameter additional stabbings ( steel tube) on the drivers side if that makes sense, in addition to the two i was expecting on the passenger side which is where i know the auto box cooler pipes attach, thanks Neil
