hey guys, my z has been in my mates storage for the last 3-4 months, ive finnaly got a lil bit of cash to get it on the road, went up to get it tonite , took my new HID kit with me cos the lite wer crap anyway, after filddlin around with the flat battery, shoved another one on for now...i plugged the hid kit in and they wer flashing like strobes, figured i got a bad earth, so ive ended up having to earth each bulb to the body with a spade connector some wire onto the rad bracket. then only one side was working for some unknown reason, i think its because the h3 connector on the harness im only using the live from it, as ive earthd to the body so dont use the second s…

at the end of the month,I am going to get some bits and bobs for the zed, these are a boost gauge ,but i was wondering should i go for one that shows the pressure in psi,or bar? and where would i get a good chip for the ecu,my car is an auto,so would i have to get an auto specific chip? so this month I will be busy, with the chip, boost gauge and the series 4 spoiler from jap.slapper,I take it there is no difference between the lwb,&swb spoilers?

I was just wondering, how many engine re-builds the average zed owner has: (a) carried out by themselves or (b) had carried out by a garage/specialist and what the results were

After taking on a contract some distance away and handing my hire car back last week, the Z has been pressed into service for some serious miles over the next 8 weeks. 140miles a day, 3 days a week. After hopefully sorting my smoking exhausts out (oil weep from sump plug washer) I've got a new one, the Cat overheat light. Problem is the car doesn't appear to be missing and seems to be running fine, although it does feel a little lumpy at idle, but never when driving. I've had this issue before but before I could track it down it went again. Car is returning an average of about 23-24mpg so fuel economy isn't horrific but I'd hoped for better sitting on…

Well as most of you know we have been panning for ages to design one. So it was down to my old man to do, to go with the bumper he does. Sooo this was well over a year ago. people kept asking me about it and i kept going on and on about it to him. he just kept say yeah i will get around to doing it. Yesterday i was having a clear out and i found it again.Said to dad ive had enough of seeing it and im going to do it, so he said yeah ok  So ive started it. We took a shot of the bottom half of the 99spec bumper so I can work with it. Anyway one day on and the lip is well on its way :) Pic of some random lip made up and screwd on Next w…

Sorry if a repost. I thought I was quite good at cleaning cars and never really knew how much there is to it. Have Just been looking around at various sites regarding detailing and was wondering what does everyone here use and why? Stages and the cleaning product.

As it's Julia's birthday today, I took the day off and we went to Twycross Zoo. "Which car should we take?" I asked this morning - "The Z of course" came the reply..... Yes!! ......and what a great day it was for giving the ZX a blast up the (almost empty:wink:) M40; twin turbos certainly love the cold dry air. Plus a TK3 blue ZX looks even better in the sunshine!! And to finish, we have a taxi coming in about an hour to take us to the Thai restaurant down in the village..... Richard:cool2:

So how many of you have people in the know? I don't wanna lose my zx but I need help doing it. Do you know any welders, painters, fabricators who could spare some time to get my car sorted. Here's hoping. She is a 2+2 in ford electric orange. I need some welding done under body kit at back wheel arches I want to install my iPad into the dash and also build a Perspex/wood speaker unit in boot. Oh and I have to get new rubbers. I'd love to repay her. The idea is to make her like the fast and furious supra. Thanks all

How many pins does your OBD plug have? Mine has space for 14 but only 8 are present, is that normal? What's the small dial on the front of the ecu with the flat head screwdriver adjuster?

Now ive got rid of my series one daily runner for a BMW diesel.. i thought with the cash i'll be saving on fuel, im going to treat myself to a 99 Spec Type R as a fine weather /weekend car I love the looks of the 99 spec and the interior, so the only thing i will be changing is wheels and exhaust, with maybe a few mild mods, boost controller etc.. the one thing i dont like is the new heater controls, does anyone know if the series 2 controls fit the 99 spec? and last but not least Who is a good reliable importer in the UK? ive heard so many horror stories when it comes to importers Cheers

Not that I want to rag my Zed from cold, but I was curious to know if there is an inhibitor when the car is cold to stop the turbo's cutting in? I know there is a safety mode, but the car seems like the turbo's don't cut in until the car is fully warm. The difference in power is very noticeable! The boost gauge reads correctly (as recommended in the buyers guide). Thanks for any help given.

Just bought my z32tt manual, I did so knowing that the engine missed/spluttered occasionally at low rev range when holding a certain speed. On my journey home I noticed that if I went upto 4500 revs I got what I suspect is fuel cut, can anybody give me any advice on how to go about solving this issue??????

As standard they are a kinda dull manky whiteish type colour which looked ok I suppose. However now I have a triple guage pod mounted at the top of my centre console with balck face dials ith white numbering and red needles. I thought to myself, "Damn it would look good if the standard dials matched that colour". SO I bought some super bright LEDs. didn't work, came out a pale blue through the dials with concentrated spots where the bulbs where. so then I bought some super white normal bulbs (The ones that have a blue outer surface but glow white. didn't work either, better spread but still a pale blue. I see the standard bulbs are the old style yellow ones with blu…

Well after a bit searching and bleeding the system i have discovered that the UJ that goes on to the rack seems to be my fault and is giving me hard steering. I have wd40 up the joint and at the mo all seems well My question is, is that all i need to do or will it go back to the way it was and i need to replace it? hope that makes sense.

I've got the DW Traction rods, Camber arms and Tension rods to go on and was going to order the DW Hicas elimination kit. I've been told that the toe rods that are supplied with the kit don't fir the Zed?! Has anyone else got the same setup and what did you do with the toe rods? Did you use an alternative arm or not? Matt
