See many cambelt adjusters set wrong or failed by seizing, there can be different reasons for this but either way its not good for the belt or your wallet! The zed below was in for a cambelt replacement, no drama, sounded ok so stripped it down. Once stripped it was clear the auto tensioner was stuck and not applying any tension on the belt. The belt had as normal streched since installed but without any tension was so loose you could pull the belt off the pulley. The adjuster can be seen here to be closed, it should be wide open with no belt on. The bizzare thing with this and one`s I have seen before was that the engine was qu…

As soon as I have reached my target speed of 180mph (gps) in this car I have to move on to faster things. The challenge is to hit 200mph before I'm 30. I got just under 4 years left. Set a bet with my mate years and years ago. First one to hit 200mph in their own car before they're 30. Some things I've read in forums have made me wonder though.... Is the Zed capable of the fabled 200mph mark with a little work...?

Have already done a couple of the targa drain tech write ups but having done another zed today on the drivers side I took a few more pics this time and with more details so here we go...again, hope it will be of help. This particular zed had a very wet set of carpets and as a consequence has suffered from floor corrosion so it was of importance to stop the water ingress as well as repairing the floor. Both of the targa drain pipes had become disconnected due to shrinking back of the pipe that then causes the exit rubber end to become detached and any water going down the targa drains to end up inside of the cabin, this can result in all sort of electrical issue…

I'm wanting to fit an auto closer kit to close my windows and bring my mirrors in when I lock the car then bring the mirrors back out when I unlock it. I've found many auto window closer kits for sale but none mention anything about mirror capabilities. I presume I would need an auto closer that also sends a signal out when it's unlocked too. Any auto electricians done something like this before and could steer me in the right direction of what I need and if it's even possible...

Have had a couple of niggles with the old girl, so on jeffs advice I checked the connection on the coolant temp sensor (one for the ecu) and it was absolutely minging!, so cleaned the pins in the sensor back to clean metal and did the same on the connector itself and the difference is unreal!.The car is so much smoother and more responsive and running so much better :)

recently had my split rims powedercoated , they look great , tyres refitted , balanced etc etc , trouble is 2 of the foooking things are leaking like a sieve from the back side of the rim , where the nuts screw in, i cant tighten them up, in fact i cant budge them either way , and the powder coaters wont accept liability , and i cant prove they were not leaking before hand, i am so fed up im seriosly thinking of breaking the whole car , it may seem like a small point but im pisxed of with time money and effort being spent hand over fist and getting precisely no where, simply put i dont know where to go from here i dont have a great deal of brass at best , even less so cur…

Some of you will remember my z32 fairlady. I sold it due to running out of money to fund the addiction to a young lad (18) from up north. I found him on facebook and messaged him pleading to buy it back as I no longer cover half the mileage I used to, and he informed me that he sold it to his friend within 3 weeks (who also messaged me about the car), but unfortunately it snapped on him in the wet after overtaking a van and threw him into a drystone dyke. The car was obviously written off, and the poor lad died at the scene. It's a grave reminder to drive with respect, especially through winter.
