Following on from my previous post i have done a compression test this morning and pleased to say all 6 are at 170 or a couple either side but non of them are down on compression. However i still have the poor starting problem and all 6 plugs are black surgesting over fueling. Anyone point me in the right direction on what could be causing my poor starting? No boost leaks new engine wiring loom all injectors tested and all have 12 ohm resistance new injector seals please help its doning my head in!

I'm getting a noise. Kind of an exhaust heat shield rattle but a much lower tone and nearer the front. It happens at low revs briefly when there is pressure on the engine (i.e. pulling away). Had it in the garage but can't make it make the noise at standstill so my mechanic can't find it. It's certainly not a heat shield on the exhaust as I have a full mongoose system now with decats and it's still doing it. Been like this since I got the car about 10 months ago and I've finally had enough. Any ideas..??

Just wondering if anyone drifted their 300? It's not something I've been able to find much evidence of so just wondering if I'm looking in the wrong place or if there is a reason why people don't...? My 350z drifts lovely but is worth too much to me to be driven in that manner too often....... My 300 is also of value to me but isn't worth as much (just before anyone gets offended) :hang: I get that an N/A 300 has an open diff but is there some other reason that people don't seem to drift these cars? To me it seems an ideal candidate for the task really??? What do you guys think? :)

I did post something on this last year but it's now worse than ever...OK...here goes... At ANY speed from 50mph upwards my steering sometimes shakes quite severely. The challenge is that is doesn't do it all the time. Sometimes I can cruise at 70 and it's completely shake free and then some other times I can be cruising at 70 and the steering wheel is shaking very severely! I have tried to look for speed trends, road type trends, car hot trends, car cold trends and I can't find anything that triggers it! Some journeys will be as smooth as you like and on other journeys I arrive at my destination feeling like I have Parkinsons disease. To give you the full p…

See many cambelt adjusters set wrong or failed by seizing, there can be different reasons for this but either way its not good for the belt or your wallet! The zed below was in for a cambelt replacement, no drama, sounded ok so stripped it down. Once stripped it was clear the auto tensioner was stuck and not applying any tension on the belt. The belt had as normal streched since installed but without any tension was so loose you could pull the belt off the pulley. The adjuster can be seen here to be closed, it should be wide open with no belt on. The bizzare thing with this and one`s I have seen before was that the engine was qu…

As soon as I have reached my target speed of 180mph (gps) in this car I have to move on to faster things. The challenge is to hit 200mph before I'm 30. I got just under 4 years left. Set a bet with my mate years and years ago. First one to hit 200mph in their own car before they're 30. Some things I've read in forums have made me wonder though.... Is the Zed capable of the fabled 200mph mark with a little work...?

Have already done a couple of the targa drain tech write ups but having done another zed today on the drivers side I took a few more pics this time and with more details so here we go...again, hope it will be of help. This particular zed had a very wet set of carpets and as a consequence has suffered from floor corrosion so it was of importance to stop the water ingress as well as repairing the floor. Both of the targa drain pipes had become disconnected due to shrinking back of the pipe that then causes the exit rubber end to become detached and any water going down the targa drains to end up inside of the cabin, this can result in all sort of electrical issue…
