Still got problems on the NA as originally stated here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=153847 Not tried the advice given on all connectors as yet as it has been mothballed since posting that. Checked all plugs as refused to start yesterday. Were coked up. Cleaned and fired up fine (though very rough idle around 600rpm and run like crap). Today, i ran a ECU diag and it came up as 55 all clear. Did this 3 times after an hr ECU reset and same result. Then, on each occasion while in Mode 2 i tried the heated o2 sensor monitor. On the left 02 at 2k i just got the EM light on constant so 'open loop' & running rich (lots of black smok…

Not running spigot rings on your aftermarket alloys to correct the centre bore is frowned upon because it put excess stress on the bolts. Thats fine that makes sense. However, if your running spacers even 5mm ones arent they going to have the same effect as the centre bore isnt touching? While were on the subject what is the maxiumum size spacer that can safely be used on the standard studs?

well ...today i thought i'd go see about some prices for paint or wrap. didn't realise the work and equipment involved for a quality wrap! paint was the usual quotes 1000 to 2500. but rumour told me you can get a wrap for 400 ish. well that turned out to be way off. 1500 to 2500 for a properly done wrap! well **ck that. may as well get her painted.

  6. Started by Dave Brock,

I recently noticed a small patch of oil on the drive where I park my car. Had my mechanic take a look when it was in the garage last and apparently it's coming from somewhere above the oil filter. It's not coming from any part of that area but dripping down from somewhere above. He could look into it further but he'd basically be working blind while clocking up the money he's gonna charge me for labour. Anyone had a similar placed oil leak or does anyone have an educated guess as to where it's likely to be coming from?

I'm having really big issues fitting the rear bumper back to my car. I got a new (OEM) bumper back in November from Zed world from one of their UK TK3 breakers, and the support brackets (on the side of the car) just wont line up! At first i thought it might be the new bumper, but putting my old one back on to see if it will line up end me up with the same problems! All of the screws on the back of the car (below the lights) line up no problem, its just the 3 (maybe 2) on the side of the car that just wont go in the holes with extreme force, then the bumper looks like its on the p1ss from the arch as it comes in far to short to line up with the arch :pinch: . Any advice?

  15. Just a general questions to the community. Many of us searching for high-end adjustable suspension are face with many choices. As it will be a huge investments for most of us, we all want to make sure that we are making the right decision. But ultimately, it comes down to prices and what we can afford. We would all love to ride on a set of Ohlins DFV, but at £2500 a set it is just a bit outside of the budget for many of us. So the questions here is what "High End" suspension do you think you can afford? How much is it? And why would you choose that over anything else in the same price bracket? As the keyword here is 'affordable', lets try t…

Ive started polishing up the plenum off my old 'Wasp'. Trouble is, every time am on my own with the dog and try to use the dremel, he goes out and howls! I'm strating off with the dremel and grinder attachment to knock off the worst, and the casting marks then is grafting away with the wet n dry after that. Going to be slow progress but taking pics along the way... :) Original: Now:

  21. I've been waiting for a dry day without having to defrost to bring the new zed in and give it a good long run and walked out the front door this morning to find no frost or ice on the car, grabbed the keys and set off. It's a good 29-30 mile commute in with a bit of stop start traffic. The car didn't bat an eyelid, perfect temp and oil pressure all the way in. I behaved myself as the prob is a bit wobbly and kept it below 60 most of the way but got to the last long 3 mile straight and some mazda 6 ts decided to try and undertake me so i dropped a cog and demolished him :) I love it - back in a decent driveable zed for the first time in ages It's good to b…

As title really, know there are many threads about each. But im wondering, for the occasional trackday and general spirited driving and a highly modded engine, which is best suited. My car has full interior, dont want an oil can in a footwell or anything in the boot. Wana keep what practicality it has. So things i wana compare: Cost of each. Ease of use/servicing, i like regular servicing and dont want it to be 8 litres at a time. How good each is at doing there job of protecting from oil starvation. Availability. And anything anyone wants to add. any advice welcome. thanks in advance. danny

  24. Is it the top or the bottom pipe that gets blanked off....I can't remember which I did last time? One of my Arc bov hard pipes has one pipe blanked off already so no need for a bung to that end I've got to get this: to fit either the drivers side or the passengers side and then get a second hard pipe fab'd to fit the opposite side tomorrow
