Hi, I'm new on here and am looking at buying a 300zx TT... Pretty much every single one I've seen for sale on Autotrader/Pistonheads/Ebay is an Automatic. I know that UK spec cars came with a 4-speed Auto and the ones I am looking at are all Jap imports. I'm slightly concerned at the prospect of having a 4-speed Auto as I know it will completely drink petrol... or do Jap cars have a different Auto box to UK cars? Ideally, obviously I'd like a manual car but practically none of them are around... unless of course Jap cars have a 5-speed Auto or a different gearbox... My budget is about £3.5k and wouldnt want to get one above about 80k miles, but if anyone kn…

  7. Managed to hurt the rim of one of my BBS alloys today. With the force I hit the curb I am lucky that the wheel and my pride appear to be all that's damaged 'I hope'. Looking at repairing, although have been quoted £100 as its a polished rim. Does anyone know what the name of my wheels are ? I know there BBS but that's all. Just in case one were to pop up. Doubtful I know.

Looking for a mechanic that knows their way round my car a little better than my local guy. Some of the jobs I need doing are not expensive in the way of parts but more labour and I'm sure it'll be a lot quicker for someone who knows these cars well. Anyone out there wanna be my go to mechanic?

I've just had the car in to a 'specialist to have a few bits looked over. He put it on a dynomometer.. It's only delivering an estimated 280 BHP!! :crying: (It's faster than that!!) Anyway, the reason for my post is this. He reckons the front crank seal is weeping oil. Go on tell me, how bad a job is it? I'll be drowning my sorrows if you need me!!

Chaps, I know this has probably been asked a million times, but for the life of me i can find an actual how-to on removing the top two spark plugs. I.e the 2 under the balance bar. is there a trick to doing it without removing the bar completely??? If not what do i need to look out for before removing everything off the bar.... Thanks again. James

I'm seriously considering putting an NA subframe/diff on my TT, and just wondering what I could get for my TT rear end, it has all 4 HICAS ball joints just replaced and only driven a couple of miles, and has all been off the car, angle grinder wire brushed good style and all painted in gloss black smooth hammerite, you could eat you dinner off it, how much do you think I could get for it? I understand it wouldn't be much normally, but as it has all new ball joints and is all painted, it may be what someone is after... Cheers, Tudor...

On my car I have aftermarket 17" alloys with 225 45 17 tyres which are all knackered. I like the rims and planned to replace tyres with goodyear eagle f1's or Michelin pilot sports or something like that, but now I wonder are the rims and tyres too skinny and should I be looking at a wider rim and tyre set up. Why do owners go for a wider tyre set up, surely you would think that Nissan would have designed it with the super icas to give optimum handling?
