Electric mirror won't work...

When I bought my Zed I realised the driver side mirror didn't work at all. I added it to my list of things that need sorting. I've now got to it on the list and found it wasn't plugged in. But alas, it won't plug in!

 

It's clearly not the orginal mirror as the wiring loom from the car has a 7 pin plug and the mirror only has a 5 pin lug.

 

It's a 1993 JDM Zed. Who knows what model Zed I need the mirror from as I have already bought a JDM mirror only to find out it's also only got a 5 pin plug on it.

 

Here's the wiring loom plug on my car the mirror needs to connect to...

    How do you know for sure you have bought JDM, sounds like you have bought UK mirrors to me.

     

    7 wires are required for heated, fold in and for adjusting on my 1994 J spec :thumbup1:

    Yep, sounds like you have been sold a UK mirror, i'm afraid. As footmuncher has mentioned the JDM has a 7 pin plug.

    If there a well known mate, they should have no trouble giving you your money back. Probably just on honest mistake.

    I'm really confused now. I've just had a look at my JDM mirrors and they have the same pin out as my UK ones, 5 pins :confused1:

     

    The JDM ones are definitely folding ones but the UK S2 ones aren't, or at least don't have a switch to fold them. I don't know what's going on to be honest.

     

    Sorry for the confusion I've caused, maybe somebody will be able to answer this one?

    From what I'm guessing, the later models have the 7 pin plugs on them and have defogger glass.

    either way, I'm after a 7 pin one.

    Ok so I'm just gonna put it out there..... Zeds may of had heated mirros from '93 onwards.....
