As you'd expect, the windscreen trims etc on my zed are all showing their age and damn new ones are expensive! I'm sure someone would have refurbed theirs before. What paint so I use? Currently doing the scuttle trim but I wanna do all the window/roof trims and the wiper arms.

Hi guys been having weird backfire and misfire problems for a while now Stripped the loom off the car gonna clean it up and do some checks. Had a little look all ready and there is an earth/ground which goes to the coil packs looked really rough. Anyone reckon this may be cause of problem. It's weird cause can remove each injector/coil 1by1 and rev it to 2000rpm in neutral and get a backfire. Only does it once warmed up. Seems it's on all 6cylinders. Running standard psi and ecu Also pulled the plenum and noticed it has a lot of oil around the edges. Is this normal. The egr that connects either side of plenum near throttles were really oily so re…

When I bought my Zed I realised the driver side mirror didn't work at all. I added it to my list of things that need sorting. I've now got to it on the list and found it wasn't plugged in. But alas, it won't plug in! It's clearly not the orginal mirror as the wiring loom from the car has a 7 pin plug and the mirror only has a 5 pin lug. It's a 1993 JDM Zed. Who knows what model Zed I need the mirror from as I have already bought a JDM mirror only to find out it's also only got a 5 pin plug on it. Here's the wiring loom plug on my car the mirror needs to connect to...

I need to do a plenum pull to redo rocker cover gaskets as it seems i have an oil leak on the pass side, (burning oil smoke coming up from battery side) I cant see any oil lower down so i think its oil leaking from the rocker cover and burning off on the manifold. I have already done EGR, AIV deletes and water bypass, Can anyone suggest anything else worth doing while the plenum is off?? Im thinking I change the oil feed lines to the tubs while im at it as then thats another future possible prob replaced. I know I need the following but anything else I need 1x Idle control valve at rear of plenum, as mines not working. 1x idle control valve gasket …

Hi, I'm new on here and am looking at buying a 300zx TT... Pretty much every single one I've seen for sale on Autotrader/Pistonheads/Ebay is an Automatic. I know that UK spec cars came with a 4-speed Auto and the ones I am looking at are all Jap imports. I'm slightly concerned at the prospect of having a 4-speed Auto as I know it will completely drink petrol... or do Jap cars have a different Auto box to UK cars? Ideally, obviously I'd like a manual car but practically none of them are around... unless of course Jap cars have a 5-speed Auto or a different gearbox... My budget is about £3.5k and wouldnt want to get one above about 80k miles, but if anyone kn…

Managed to hurt the rim of one of my BBS alloys today. With the force I hit the curb I am lucky that the wheel and my pride appear to be all that's damaged 'I hope'. Looking at repairing, although have been quoted £100 as its a polished rim. Does anyone know what the name of my wheels are ? I know there BBS but that's all. Just in case one were to pop up. Doubtful I know.

Looking for a mechanic that knows their way round my car a little better than my local guy. Some of the jobs I need doing are not expensive in the way of parts but more labour and I'm sure it'll be a lot quicker for someone who knows these cars well. Anyone out there wanna be my go to mechanic?

I've just had the car in to a 'specialist to have a few bits looked over. He put it on a dynomometer.. It's only delivering an estimated 280 BHP!! :crying: (It's faster than that!!) Anyway, the reason for my post is this. He reckons the front crank seal is weeping oil. Go on tell me, how bad a job is it? I'll be drowning my sorrows if you need me!!

Chaps, I know this has probably been asked a million times, but for the life of me i can find an actual how-to on removing the top two spark plugs. I.e the 2 under the balance bar. is there a trick to doing it without removing the bar completely??? If not what do i need to look out for before removing everything off the bar.... Thanks again. James
