Ok, so I have removed the heads from my engine rebuild project what's the correct protective oil I should cover them in?. I was told to place them in a sealed poly bag with oil spray onto the heads etc. Thanks

Have heard mixed views on this come people say i will gain 20hp some say i will lose power. I have a set of factory twin turbo manual cams, thinking of putting them into my n/a auto. Anything really to be gained?

I've been advised by a local clutch specialist that the thrust bearing that was used previously with my Exedy twin plate clutch was most likely too big for the clutch, resulting in it literally melting the top set of 'fingers' and fusing the metal to the lower set. The ID of the area that was worn away was about 10mm+ larger than the ID of the hole in the centre of the clutch 'fingers'. Could anybody tell me, is there a specific thrust bearing that is supposed to be used with the Exedy twin plate clutch, and if so is it slightly smaller than stock? thanks

Stemming from a conversation the other day I was just wondering what the effects (+ or -) would be if you removed the stock recirc valves and ran a single bov setup (obviously with custom pipework/'T' pieces etc connecting it all up in some way) rather than the usual setup of two individual bov's. ****Please, please, please no "I don't see the point" or "Bov's are the spawn of satan" comments**** I'm just asking the question out of curiosity and looking at possible solutions that may work in theory cheers

i dont spose anyone knows if theres a durite part number for plugs that can be used for the injectors and other bits on the z? i can get durite stuff cheap cheap through work lol

Ok, while Alex CAN'T get online to argue the point, lets settle a stupid argument we've been having lol :) On any other car Ive ever had that has had a push button key release, its always been more finished than this (see piccy I putterupperered) Alex (Hollowpoint) will argue forever that "it cannot have a plastic piece that goes around this button, never had one, never seen a zed with one" It's glaringly obvious that the insert and notches are not there by design and there is a bit missing!!! :detective: Does ANYONE actually still have that bit, or are they pointless to replace. :clover:well,tomorrow i will be cracking on with my z. i'm absolutely dreddin it ,but at the same time excited that she's having the transplant. 1st job will be rear subframe swap/hicas delete.which should be pretty straight forward. then front sub frame with engine for as many deletes as poss! so as long as she doesn't fall apart ,i'll be a few steps closer to the next list of to do's. oh s***t nearly forgot about the gearbox .yes conversion also from auto. question. can anyone advise on the deletes for engine. so far i know of , egr, water bypass .......any other to do while lump out?

Just saw another one of those illuminated 300zx panels go for a cracking price again on eBay! Just wondered if it would be illegal or not to illuminate the panel along with the brakes as that would be cool ! As long as its a red one mind.

Got my Zed off the genius that is Jimmer last night. The thing now flys, don't mis-fire or smoke. She purrs like a kitten. He did the jobs I asked him too and did a load of other bits to get the car right. Everyone should take the car to him, you won't be disappointed. Awesome Zed specialist and a top bloke, cheers again mate. And got to see MadMax's car, jesus that thing is awesome, even better in the flesh.

Thought it was about time to give the old girl a service, so got new fuel filter, oil filter, oil change and a new set of platinum plugs. gave my mate £80 and turns out he got some change, so with it he thought he'd treat me to a fuel treatment. after fitting everything started pouring the treatment in the tank, halfway through realised they'd sent him an engine flush, so unfortunately i got 200ml in the tank, to make up for it the parts supplier sent him 2 fuel treatments (even though they still charged him for the engine flush). Haven't driven her yet, but my mate said the new plugs have made all the difference. gunna take for a blast now and see how she feels. …

I drive loads of cars every day, but just wondered if my Zed had 1000bhp how much quicker would it be able to acheive against standard. My BMW X5 has 320bhp, my Merc SLK has 165bhp and my Insignia 172bhp. The little Merc is the fastest of the line, but tops at 140ish, the BMW next and tops at 150ish and the Insignia slowest at everything at 135ish. I no weight and size make a difference but my son has a 375bhp astra that doesnt seem much faster than a standard one, so is it worth all that BHP????

Zed is up for mot soon and checking underneath today and one of my steering rack gators is split so quick question do UK and import zeds have the same gators?

May Z seems to be rather harsh and and the suspension seems quite hard. I noticed a little turn pot on top of the strut and was wondering if this adjusted the damping rate? currently its set to 1, is this correct?

My Z32 will not pass 2500 rpm, and on very low fuel it can cut out around corners. The funny thing is that my car cut out on the same bend on different days 3 times. I have changed the fuel filter but had no luck. Do you think it may be the air flow meter? Regards Dil

Hi All, My brakes are very spongy atm, having had it up on ramps i cant see any issues with discs or pads, also car has braided hoses. Im planning on bleeding the brakes on sat. but cant find a how to anywhere depsite searching. There are also conflicting views on which order to do it in. If you can help can you please advise the following; 1, How much brake fluid does the reseviour hold.? 2, Does it need a specific brake fluid or will any do? 3, In what order is it best to bleed them? 4, Perhaps a link to a how to for replacing the master cylinder???? Just a thought, but if you've got the full Driftworks adjustable steering and suspension package is this possible: When you fit 9" wheels up front with an offset of (ET +45) you will normally require a spacer to make the wheel sit flush with the arch (this will affect the feel and handling), however, is it possible to adjust all of the upper and lower steering and suspension components to effectively negate the use of the spacer (ie. literally 'push' the wheel further out) in order for the wheel to sit flush with the arch? I believe the Driftworks kit offers 20mm-25mm of adjustment.

tried refitting this convertor forn the speedo,so i was trailing the how to bit and i noticed that there is another way to do it.With a different diode,now where would i look for the one that needs to be removed on the back of the clocks and does anyone have the one i need to replace it with if where would i get one from, I have the speedo with 180km on the dial and my car is a 91 many thanks:innocent:
