General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi does anyone have any experience with wastgate adjust ? I bought new turbos the pe1420 and I am not sure about actuator setting I will be running around 18 PSI, an Power enterprise web page is said that is comes with 14PSI spring in. But I dont know how much I need to adjust to get right setting to work on 18psi turbo boost.

Im getting a cable and serial to USB converter to connect it to my laptop. Im planning on getting them from eBay unless anyone has one they want to sell? Does anyone have a link to download Datascan as all the ones i've found are dead? Cheers:thumbup1:

Ok does any one have any Pics of both turbos together as i needed to send some off to be copyed ( clocked )... and i have just looked and they both seem to be the same so looks like i got duped on ebay .. lol

after fitting my new rear lights and as phutumsch pointed out the center panel looks a little out of place with the style of the rest so what im thinking about is can you get a plain fibre glass middle section? if so id like to mod it to have these in it in the same places as they are on the standard panel then have a blacked out oval recessed section where the 300zx is on the standard panel that lights up with 300zx when the lights are on. does that sound stupid? should i just stick with the standard one?

anyone on here live in or near andover ,ive had 3 zeds now and never see any others in or around my area ,maybe no one can afford to run them round here,

well after spending 4yrs and almost 17k on my zed its time to hang the coat up and call it a day. In the last mon ive fitted 2engines in it and both have been no good. Unfortunatley now ive not got the time or money left to redo it all again. So will be taking it back out this weekend and start stripping the car. In the past ive had a house broken into and burnt to the ground and that was nowhere near as upsetting as this decision has made me. So watch out as the parts start coming up for offers.

On my way to the station the car stalled at a junction (does this when it is very cold) but would not start again. I think it has something to do with the fuel pump as I cannot hear it activating when I turn the ignition. I am hoping it is a fuse or relay but if it is the pump whereabouts is it and is it easy to replace?

Finally my new momo steering wheel has arrived and I have a Nissan boss which I hoped would fit my steering coloum But it wont fit the first pic is my Nissan boss the second pic is the steering coloum I dont have cruz but still want to use my hicas setup. There has been over the years a growth of dedicated trade and non trade supply of used zed parts been sold in the main by ebay traders. Now this is purely hyperthetical (yet again) but I think that it's fair to say that the biggest issue that the zed has during any prolonged period on track, is cooling.... well I've just been looking at a few other builds (non zed); some in the UK and some in the US, across a wide variety of track focused builds and a lot of modifiers and tuners seem to be opting to re-locate the rad to the rear of the vehicle in thoery it seems like a decent idea, and the number of pro spec cars that have adopted it as a setup proves that it does work as long as the right ducting and aero is in place to supply and extract the moving air efficiently now here'…

:smartass: needed . .i have a tt auto jdm. 1990. also just broke na jdm1994. i've had to use complete suspension,hubs etc for the tt as most it was well worn and neediing attention. but i've found the offset on the na disks are different to the tt. so is it for reasons to do with the power...or is it because they made changes on the later models. ?????? will the na 94 brake set up do for now?

Got half a day yesterday to finally fix the mess the auto electrician made when fitting my new clocks.. God it was cold..... The amount of clips and screws that were missing amazed me. If even got some pods from Kinugawa Turbo the K*** even managed to crack. However all back in place and tight now. Everything now works, but the petrol gauge is showing qtr of a tank more than the old gauge. I would assume this is due to the memory. Any way of resetting this of changing it to reflect the value of my tank? The temp gauge now reads permanently hot. hi can i use a UK ecu on a jdm 300zxtt just that super unleaded isn't very close to me so if i used a UK ecu i could use ordinary unleaded.

I know there is alot of info on the site regarding plugs but I still have questions The standard spark plug heat rating for the TT is 6 right? When you increase boost pressure along with adequate fuelling you increase BHP. The purpose of a colder rated plug being to remove the extra heat created by the higher performance from the cylinder quicker right? So at what increase in boost/bhp do you move up to 7/8/9 etc? From what i've seen there are three options of manufacturer: NGK, which seem to be the most commonly used by Z32 owners - HKS, which are bloody expensive - Denso, that i've been told make alot of HKS plugs but are alot cheaper and have a different…

well today got the z in and done a bit of bodywork so all the rust has been cut out and patched it was all to the back end and rear sills. now its been left at the paint shop with a bodykit to be fitted so i have a paint list 1: 2.5l 673g base 2: 5l upol lacquer 3: 2.5upol hardener 4: rocket i was thinking it would hardly take that much its about £250 for that alone starting to get expensive ahhhhhhhhhh.............

Just put some standard wheels back on my car,i cant believe how much better the car feels,steering, ride ,seems to go better aswell.Has anyone else noticed this?i know they dont look as nice but quite liking the standard look.I might be putting my deep dish 18's on ebay me thinks.,have to see ride over looks?

Right folks, done a bit of searching and it appears my o/s/f creak is from the upper link.every other car I have had has had standard macpherson strut suspension, not multilink like the zed. How easy is it to remove the top link to clean it/lube it ?, do I have to remove the shock etc?.hoping to replace all the suspension arms with driftworks kit soon, but the creaking is doing my head in!!!.......any advice guys?
