Hey guys just wondering if anybody can give advice on setting up the Z suspension wise. Ride height needs to ideally sit chassis rails 100mm or more from the ground. From there the alignment guys will let me do the tweaks myself, i have got adjustable front and rear traction arms, adjustable front and rear camber, and adjustable rear toe arms (n/a subframe, no hicas), also have rear subframe lock collars. the coilovers are body adjustable BC red's, body adjustable so i can change ride height seperate to the spring pre load. I've read a fair bit of suspension stuff regarding ride height and the effects of having your lower arm mount aligned with the lower ba…

Sometimes with the very best of intentions somethings just seem destined to go wrong. Case in point, a very smokey zed we saw a year ago returned with a very unhappy owner. With the help of a mechanic mate he had removed the engine and removed and replaced the turbo`s with newly refurbished items. During the change over the oil lines were replaced as was the oil and filter, the turbo`s were pre-oiled and the oil lines filled as per the turbo companies instructions, also when all refitted the engine was turned over with the fuel pump fuse removed to prevent starting, this done until oil came out of the turbo oil returns. So all good and now running, howeve…

How come we dont have any proper monster zeds on here. Ive been on the fiat coupe forum for a few days now and omg every year they just keep getting more and more power out of it, and they seem to be really easy to mod. When i had mine 280hp was the norm and i was running about 350hp which was alot, now it seems to be alot are running around the 450hp and this is the norm and a lot of them doing track days and on stock internals  This is a wicked result. its Barbz car and he tuned my coop and he just keeps getting more and more power. Also look how smooth the power is. there are one or 2 now over the 600hp mark. Looking at todays fig…

After a slightly nervy drive down in my poorly zed, Jeff quickly spotted the problem (loose pipe) so while it was there I had some niggles sorted. The heater no longer clicks annoyingly  So after a cup of coffee from Lynda to recover from the horror of having to use public transport the drive back home was much more pleasant. great service, ta!!

Looking to completely isolate the rear lights (tail lights, brake lights and number plate if not all). The plan is to flick a switch in the front while driving that will just cut all of them out. I'm thinking they must all just have a main ground wire terminated onto the bodywork somewhere, if I cut that the lights should go out. I can't find anything like that for the life of me! Anyone out there tried doing similar and can point me in the right direction or anyone know these cars back to front, inside out and upside down that can help? I'm an electrician so no replies talking to me like a 4 year old. answers on a postcard to theusual address.

Have done a search but cant find much....... A couple of times since the weekend my 'power' light has flashed 16 times when I turn the ignition on and the box appears to be pulling off in second gear, as it seems to require more revs than normal to get the old girl going.Has anyone else had this problem and know a possible cause?. I am changing the box for a manual shortly, but dont really want any problems between now and then.any help or advice appreciated :)

When choosing a clutch you need to ensure your covering the performance requirements, your driving style and cost of course, however cost can sometime get in the way of making clear decisions, information, research and recommendations are the way forward. We all like a bargain but you need to be careful that any clutch you buy is matched so that all of the components work together as one unit. Below are the results of a mismatched clutch, removed today in the workshop from a zed with little in the way of drive when under power but amazingly what appeared to be complete drive at lower speeds. The 4 puck clutch plate has very hard ceramic splinter pads that a…

As the title says really..... Occasionally when I decide to give it a boot full on a motorway for example I can be doing 70, foot all the the way down. It'll kick down and usually go through that gear and without any warning part way through the next gear it just cuts all power. Bit as if I've all of a sudden plonked it in to neutral. No noises or smoke or anything.... It's a 91 tt auto import. Running 14 psi with usual stage 1 mods. Any ideas? Like I say, there's no hesitation apart from occasionally on full throttle. Cheers Joel
