  6. Bought some Volk Racing wheels in desperate need of a refurb. That's being done but in the meantime I am after some new centre caps for them as the ones that came with them have also seen better days, but I can't seem to find any anywhere! They have a 75mm diameter and are just basic flat plastic ones. Anyone got any idea where I can find some? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Well today i thought i would pop into work to start work on my rear arches. So first i had to pop into town to get some petrol. So as i came to a roundabout (little on no island) there was a bloke in a corsa wanting to come the other way. so i set off and i noticed a transit tipper comming down the hill and the guy was looking at the Zed. so much his head was following me around then oooooppppsss he went into the back of the corsa:scared: Everyone was ok and there was little damage. he was doing under 10mph, so my zed caused a crash:whistling: Anyway got to the petrol station put £45 in and i got 3/4 of a tank from empty, normally about £75/£80. B…

  8. I want my interior light to come on when I unlock it so I can find it in the dark. It seems it's a novelty that's taken for granted by most people with modern cars. I wanna bring my Zed up to date with a few little trick bits like that. Does anyone know of some kind of aftermarket kit that will do that? Or maybe even one to bring the sidelights on...

Well I finally got round to getting my spare set of front calipers rebuilt and all back together. I striped them down monday and sent them off to be shot blasted and powder coated. I bought 8 new pistons from godspeed and a new seal kit from fleabay (biggred) and done as follows. Insert new seal in the chamber Then I put the new piston seals onto the new pistons Then insert the piston into the cailper chamber Then put the C clip round the the rubber seal of coarse you need to this 4 times then remeber to put the rubber seal that go between the two halfs of the caliper before you bolt them together …

Tried to do a compression test on the engine before it comes out but don't think there is enough life in the battery as result were all over the place 50-125psi and the turnover speed wasn't great. I only wanted to have a quick check to decide whether or not to change the head gaskets while the engine is out. Do I spend time messing about charging the battery or shall I just do the gaskets to be safe?

Hi All, I've search the site and look through FAQs and model history etc but can't see anything about LWB and SWB models, however when looking at the cars for sales I notice that some people list their car as LWB and some as SWB. Whats the deal? whats the different in length? When was each made? Which is regarded as best in terms of handling? Anything else you think I should know!? Thanks in advance. Matt

Last week a recovery truck tipped up early evening at the workshop with a broken zed on the back and an owner 150 miles from home, a recent soft spongy feel had been replaced with a sudden loss of clutch and no way of engaging gears with the engine running, a quick look at the clutch fluid, master cylinder and slave cylinder looked all good. However by removing the actuator fork rubber boot where it enters the gearbox revealed the problem a broken pivot bolt, not unheard of but not that common to be fair. Nothing for it but to remove the gearbox, a clearer view of bellhousing and the operating fork pivot bolt. The clutch plate and cover were n…

How easy it is to get caught out by an everyday zed job that should be a run of the mill cambelt swap , this one was hindered by a rather stubbord lower pulley, this is nothing new and did not phase me, but after 15 minutes with my trusty puller I was thinking something was definately going on. Normally when removing the crank pulley once the centre bolt has been slackend off the puller is attached and a few moment later its off, but not this time, best part of two hours! but this was the only way to go as once I had identified the potential disaster of rushing I went for the slow gradual route of loading the pulley pressure to almost breaking point and waiting 10 m…
