Another mystery power drain, I've had a search and I have a couple of ideas now, mainly rear demister (doesnt work on mine) seem to have caused a couple of issues. Basically, I came to my car last friday to try and use it, it had been stood for 6 days and it wouldnt start due to flat battery. It tried, turned over once and then the solenoid clicked. There was no one else at my parents, I couldnt be bothered so simply went back to my house in my van. I thought it a bit odd as the car had stood for 5 or 6 weeks before this, and then started on the first turn of the key no battery issues etc. Now, I've been back to my parents tonight to jump start it but I got in t…

hi guys just got my car and find it to be quite wallowy in the rear, and if you hit a pot hole or lump in the road it seems to snatch and grab at the back, feels like the wheels are loose, ive had a look around but not 100% on what i need to check, im thinking its drop links and arb bushes, also ive been advised to check the hicas, there are no warning lights, but would like to lock it off any way, does anyone else have any ideas as dont want to pay out if i dont need the bits? thanks

I bought some UK clocks a few months back and have just got around to fitting them  been busy. Anyway my car is non turbo jap and all the connectors fitted and went in fine but the rev counter doesn't move at all. Water, oil and fuel gauge move for definate and the speedo works I think. The car isn't road legal at the moment so just went dowm my lane and it moved slightly. Any ideas please? Cheers Should of said my car is a G reg 1989 if it matters

OK, stupid question. I believe it's related to the power steering/HICAS given it takes a feed from the tank but what exactly is it? I ask because it needs to be moved slightly on my project car for some welding on the inner wing. I need to make sure it goes back properly but it would help if I knew what it was!

I have searched, in fact I have looked into this many times before, but for some reason my memory isn't functioning today... So, after a manual conversion, and the neutral switch NOT connected, should the timing always be 25 BTDC, or 15 BTDC? Cheers Tudor... Also, just to add another question, I need to temporarily connect the neutral switch to do an active HICAS test, I know it's pin 44 on the ECU I need to ground, but I don't fancy the hassle of grounding it from the ECU, does pinn 44 go to any of the redundant plugs in the engine bay from the auto loom? Cheers...

Hi everyone, I have just fitted & connected my turbo timer (Blitz FATT advance+) and all works correctly. I have yet to connect one wire for the handbrake signal, is this best connected near to the ignition barrel or on route to the actual handbrake. Also what colour is the wire from the original harness to be connected, i have all the info including set up which i have already done, the only thing that is vague is the handbrake signal termination. Thanks Bob.

I have done a bit of searching and have found conflicting information on the amount of oil to put in my tt including filter. Anywhere between 3.4 and 4 litres. I don't want to overfill is 3.7 a fair guess ???

Hi guys, My z sometimes suffers light steering, I can be driving and steering will fill quite tight and heavy (which to me fills how it should light when going slow- heavier as it speeds up) But sometimes it will fill light and loose- like it is stuck on the lower speed steering. Checked sensor on side of steering rack and i have a leaky master cylinder which seems to drop the fluid straight into the plugs. so cleaned them up and have taped/sealed them up to i replace cylinder. and checked joints on speedo which seem ok. I have not drove it since so may of cured the problem (i hope). But what keeps going through my mind is that i reshelled my…

Well, after getting an awesome deal on my insurance a couple of days ago, at 12:00am this morning, I was straight on the DVLA website and taxed her, and went for my first real drive in her after almost 6 years of graft, and it was epic :) Battery had been off for a while, so she was still learning, and after about 20 or 30 miles, she really woke up, I was expecting some teething problems, but nothing really, well, my radio without the front on it would snap crackle and pop, and ghostly static and noises would come out of one speaker when I went over a bump (which shit me up, as it first sounded like something breaking), an annoying rattle on the drivers A pillar trim…

i seem to have a running problem, that has reared its ugly head in the last two weeks, under load she pulls fine but when cruising she coughs splutters and farts like an old hag, ive checked out all the plugs YES all the plugs generally in what you would call average condition, ive checked all the coil packs for splits or breaks, nothing i was told by lee dent who i trust implicitly that it could be the pcv valves is there anything i should check further?

have to say that the bailey dump valves are nice. i was a little let down at first as my last car sounded like a lorry air brake when dumping! but then after a little run round i realised a nice reserved dump is the way to go.!! thumbs up to baileys.
