General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I've bunged some 1mm mig tips in today, till I get some extra pennies for en EBC, engine is recently rebuilt, perfect health, timing spot on, throttle balance etc. all hunky dory, no boost leaks (well, not since I last tested), runs sweet as a nut, but, after putting the jets in, feels a little bit quicker, not a right lot tho, ticks over a little slower, and my boost gauge reads exactly the same (9/9.5psi), jets installed correctly etc... Any ideas? Cheers, Tudor...

i bought a uk 300zx tt auto last year. the car had been standing since 2008. As is obvious from the pictures it had been used in the scumball rally. The car only had 1st and 2nd gear as the autobox wouldn't select 3rd or 4th. i immediately replaced the box and the car has sat untouched until last week [/img] [/img] so in the last 7 days i have removed all stickers, machine polished and removed the front bumper and replaced with stock, also a new set of wheels, looking better already. As you can see i still need aa light cluster, steering wheel and something sorting the rear spoiler out. and obv needs the front end painting [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img…

Trying to get some dump/blow off valves. My first Zed had a set of HKS valves which sounded awesome. I'm looking at getting some baileys Dv 26 or possibly dv36, but not sure how they sound on a Zed? Had them on others turbo'd cars and sometimes they sounded sometimes, sometimes bad. Anyone running baileys valvesand can offer some input?

Just got a set of GTR Brembos as my old discs were warped and thought id go the whole hog. Please can some one tell me which braided hoses to buy as id like to do the full kit. Should i be buying 300 or GTR 33 hoses? Recommended brands please? Thanks

evening all, Well finally decided to start work on the zed after 12 months of owning. When i purchased it was covered in stickers and had been standing for over 3 years, ive since replaced the gearbox and removed the stickers. at some point it has had a full respray but it hasnt been the best of jobs. there is orange peel in quite a few places. can i just wet and dry and polish or is a respray needed. also the rear spoiler has rotted above the light clusters and there is rust under the spoiler, is this likely to be the tailgate or is there a metal channel running through the spoiler? also in desperate need of an o/s rear light cluster

Recently a zed was presented to us on a trailor by the tired owner, a long project spanning over over 3 years and although the body work was now mostly complete in his eyes the mechanics needed a special touch and hence we were tasked with the job. The very worn suspension was changed wholesale and the rear tailgate was replaced with a same colour one ( lucky) we had in stock as the owner had made a bad choice of using a crow bar to open the boot when he locked himself out!!! Hi all, I just noticed that one of my oil lines coming out of the oil tree is about 25mm (inch) away from the smaller pipe of my split down pipe that i believe is the waste gate side. Will this braided hose be ok do you think? Thanks Dan

I need some help here people...... My 300 is very hard to find 2nd gear, and crunches when coming out from 3rd. No crunch going into any gear. Also, when in 4th only, the gear stick feels and sounds like it is being hit by something, a very random knocking noise, every now and then, but only in 4th. I can only assume the clutch is foobarred, or would it be symtoms of a dry box (no oil) or worse case, a shagged box (hope not). Any advise, as always most welcomed. Cheerz, Alz. Manual TT jap with Z1 premium shortshifter, standard (old) clutch and standard box, btw.

Just an observation,perfectly good zeds are being broke for spares, cars of quite low value are simply worth more broken than complete.Point in case mate cant sell his M reg good condition,good engine,long mot etc etc cant get 900 for it. he is seriously thinking of breaking it .What a waste of a good car.

car wont tick over properly and the belt squeaks then all of a sudden belt stops sqeaking and revs pick up can i remove aircon pump and does any1 know what size belt i would need to use with aircon gone

hello everyone. i want to try and modify and build a one off front bumper. so my question is, has anyone got a standard front bumper that they don't want? a damaged one will be fine. thing is i don't have alot of wedge to spare. if anyone can help then i would be very grateful!

For ages now, what I thought was my door lock (actuator), has been making a really loud noise when opening/closing . On taking the door card off I realized it was actually this that was making the noise! After replacing it the noise has stopped so I won't be waking half the street up anymore when arriving home late! The problem I have now is, when I press the alarm fob the catch inside the door locks and the alarm sets but if you pull the door handle the door still opens?! I've tried just closing the door and using the key but the the catch still goes in to the locked position and the door still opens. Any help would be much appreciated. Matt

i need to have my front bumper repainted but the car has had a full respray at some point. it is still black but it looks as tho it has a gold metallic in the paint. Is this a standard colour?

My zed came into the country in 2006 and just stuck my hand in the sun visor pocket and found a japanese receipt and a road toll card!........anybody else found anything japanese in theirs?

Quick question, Does anyone have the dimensions of the adaptors needed for the calipers when fitting 350Z discs?? Just i have a mate that runs an engineering shop so he can make the up for me, Sadly he is pretty busy so if i can give him the dimensions he can get them done for me quicker than if i take the car to him. I bought a set of samco hoses long time ago just had a chance to fit them last weekend ... 4 intercooler pipes and 2 rad pipes ... have 4 more but where do they go :) or they are not for 300zx ? before after 4 hoses dont know if they are for 300zx

I,d recorded Eddy Stobart trucks and trailers last week , when i watched it they were using a special truck with the canonball run , at the start of the run i spottd this Zed , does it belong to a member ?

Well, I finally done it today....... Got my front Evo VIII Brembo calipers fitted (at last!!) with the relocation brackets, new disks, braided lines and yellow EBC pads. Loads of room behind my Ultralites, and no clearence issues, happy days!! The response is awesome, and they look good too. Only took a few piccies, but enjoy. So now my old set up is for sale..... Nissan 350Z track discs, 300zx alloy calipers, relocation brackets, EBC yello pads with lots of meat left, braided lines and all the hardware. I will post the pics and for sale thread in a few days. Alz.

Does anyone know where i can get them as cheap as possible?? on ebay they want £350/£400 and im not paying that as the bushes are really good anyway. just thought i would swap then whilst the subframe is off I think these are everything for the NA Rear Differential mount bush X2 Rear Wishbone-lower, front/rear bush X4 Rear Radius arm-upper, inner/outer bush - std X4 Rear Control arm-upper, inner/outer bush - stdX4 Rear Toe/track arm, outer bush - excl HICASX2 Rear Toe/track arm, inner bush - excl HICASX2 I have two arms already poly bushed. Its the 2 smallest arms, anyone know what they are called??
