Well ive desided to try and make my zed a little quiter from the inside. So ive striped everything out of the boot and all interiour trims. plus to waxoyl every little panel. costing me a small fortune lol!! Where my spare tyre is it was rubbing on the paint and made a little rust line, so i Kurerusted it and a few tiny little bits. once dryed i then used underseal inside the boot so everywhere is like rubber. I also took up the swirl flap did both sides kurerust the top of the swirl pot. The way im going this shell will last forever  Today once the boot was dry I used the sound deading (dynamat) stuff, it stook like sh1t and has done a good job. its got r…

Wiring an window auto closer into my car. The unit will be in the driver's door by the window controls but it needs a 15A battery supply. Where's the closest/easiest to tap off?

  3. As the title explains. I don't have streelights in my area and It's a pain finding my car in the dark. Many people with their modern cars take this novelty for granted. I've even heard that some Zeds do it however mine does not. I've already got my auto window closer and mirror folders to trigger when I lock it so the next trick bit is the interior light. Enlighten me, what's the simplest way?

Nicely done with only one advisory of my rear fog as its still wired up for my old round lights and needs moving onto the fogs fitted in my rear bumper. And that's with my mate doing the MOT and he didn't need to bend the rules apart from that. Unfortunately my headlights are just crap and not point down like I had hoped :mad2:

well had a day off today so thought id actually get around to fettling with my EBC, id already wired it in, but was yet to plumb in all the vacuum hoses. God what a nightmare lol, thought id give the engine a polish while i was in there with all the pipes off. well what can i say, think i need to set it up correctly now, god it boosts fast and hard though im yet to push it as im scared . ive left the OEM boost solenoids in place and left them plugged in as well, but ive removed my OEM boost controller box type thingy, as it wasnt doing anything anyway, didnt even give me a boost gauge movement on the OEM dash one.

Having spent about £1,000 on new Air Con parts (and fitting) last Autumn, so solve my gas leak, I now find myself back where I started. I suspected this in Jan/Feb, but can now do a proper test, on these lovely warm spring days. Has anyone got a good tip of how I can stop the system leaking ?, without replacing a load of expensive parts and getting nowhere ? Is there a magic gas that A/C companies can put in & seal the gaps ? Thanks, Tim

ive been trawling vosa and mot regulations, can anyone shed any light on the matter. For 2012, for any vehicles that were made with a cat, it must be visible and working. cant find the answers to if your decatted, what age does vehicle have to be, some areas state after 92, some state after 95. deisels are not covered as its only a smoke test. anyone who is decatted had an mot in the past few weeks. ways around it. it its for a 94 tt. stu

I'm going to be giving the zed a wash tomorrow with some zymol shampoo. The car was resprayed professionally in November in 2pac and I was wondering if it would be safe to give the car a wax as well? I've heard that you shouldn't wax a car for ages after a respray, pretty sure I read somewhere that mentioned six months. I've got some meguires carnauba (sp.?) wax for it. So would it be Ok to wax as well or should I just leave it for a while longer? cheers steams

Hi, I remember someone asking about refurbing their turbine alloys with the awkward little plastic nuts to make it look like split rims. I cant remember what site it was on and wondered if anyone on here can remember seeing a thread about it and who it was. Want to find out where you got them done?, what you did with the plastic bolts? (have them removed or repainted) and if you have a pic of them now? Thanks

Got the car up on the lift at mechanics today to have a good look around before booking it in for the suspension changes and discovered a one piece prop that I didn't know was there! Underside is very clean, only a couple of wee bits and pieces to pick up before getting it set up for the summer

Right, well I managed to do a couple of little bits this weekend. Nothing major, but I did manage to treat a couple of leather seats and swap them with my old ones, and I finished off the window trims with the plasti-dip. I do like this stuff, but i do see it as a temporary fix and will look to buy new trim as and when i have to. Here are a few before and after pics: Seats: Before - After - Window trim: Before - During - After - Next on the list is the interior swap, I have a series 2 alcantera one sitting in my garage which i just bought, but being out there in the sun today..... First Zed I've seen in bloody ages! I couldn't go by without flashing my lights and giving a thumbs up! Driver grinned and returned the thumbs up  Busy weekend, so the details I spotted are limited to that fact it was a Zed, it was black, and I think it had a vented nose panel. For the record I was in the missus's Rav4. Mark
