Thought id post a quick result of the mapping session with John Dixon Well, it didnt quite go to plan. Basically, the conzult data port on my zed has some of connection issue that ment that johns software couldnt get a consistant live stream of information, which basically meant it was nigh on impossible to map. We also found the the Deatschwerk 550cc injectors were doing some very odd things. For some reason on the mapping scales they give the scale values of 440cc injectors. All very odd and ive contacted CZP and Deatschwerk to find out whats going on (the injectors came with a flow chart which showed rates of between 545 and 549cc). The combination of th…

I've been intrested in getting my car dyno'd and also getting a custom map done. Recently found out from a day trip out to Ace Cafe (london) that there is a local 4WD dyno that do custom mapping. Without giving to much detail as i dont wanna step on any toes, iv spoken to the owners and i popped down while they were having a audi/jap dyno day last sunday and after a bit of conversation they did say that theyre happy to accomadate a dyno day and there special rates would be -10 cars booked would allow a power run at £30 each, i have to say, it sounded cheap so thought id enquire on here first and see If anyone thinks they would be intrested then let me kno…

It is very seldom my 300 is out in the rain but as I am going to be doing a lot of miles next weekend (JAE)and havent driven it in three weeks I wanted to make shure I have no issues so took it for a drive today and it drives like a super car should:biggrin: but comming home it started to rain and I have just put it in the garage wet! I have secure parking at the back of the house but thought it safer putting it in the garage but hate it being in there wet with no wind blowing it dry.So here is my first pictures of my 300 wet and dirty

So today I drove over 200 miles down to Wellington and I contacted Lee Dent just to go and meet some forum members etc. Lee offered to have a look over my car before I go to get it tuned by john dixon tomorrow. Lee was very hospitable and fed me and my orher half with a few drinks of coffee and We had a great time talking about cars. Lee helped me do a smoke test and we found 1 very small boost leak which got sorted very quickly, he also had a general look around the engine and car. Got the car in the air and took the plastics off to sort out my washer pumps (replaced with the ones mark sent me the other day). Also sorted me with some exhaust hangers. All …

right i was looking for two things regarding this, advice on how to proceed with the rebuild, and a list of parts or consumables Il need to do the job gaskets etc etc. so after looking into rebuilds cost seem to run from around £200 to £350 each tub. rebuild kits are around £100 for a genuine garrett kit. plus £63 to balance so around £163 per tub id be perfectly happy to rebuild my tubs myself, as after doing a bit of reading them seem very similar internally to the water pumps i build at work on a regular basis, so i feel i could handle this. although for the saving of about £40 a side the stress and risk dont seem particularly worth it. that £40 is worth it f…

Saw you yesterday on the a446, just pulled out a petrol station going up a hill, you stopped at a set of lights. I was the guy in the white van that pipped and gave you the thumbs up. Maroon, polished wheels, silver front lights, very clean, looked lovely.

Went and picked up my new zed yesterday, mucho respect to Richard smith for that, and what a fantastic AMG he has, me wanty First off a question, did OEM injectors ever come in the color purple as thats what colour my injectors are. Right now thats out the way, 2 kinda major issues. I have no headlights, you turn the dial on, i get no dash lights and no head lights, no rear lights, but i have full beam only, so most likely dodgy wiring connection of some sort. Right i have a hunting idle, the car (i have to check first) is supposed to have 555 nismo injectors, z1 uprated ECU, it has racelogic traction control plumbed in and a HKS turbo timer and EBC t…

I'm finally going to get the car tuned by john dixon on Saturday. So I thought it might be nice for people to guess what power I will come back with (providing it doesn't go tits up) So a basic run down on the spec that'll probably make a difference... Forged internals - eagle rods etc etc Greddy td05 16G turbos 740cc nismo injectors AMS Underdrive pulley New splitfire coilpacks All the usual stuff like air filter and exhaust etc. Southbend clutch and RPS segmented flywheel Can't remember all the other basic stuff So come on guess away. Feel free to ask if anything else is done
