General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi guys - I have a spare NA ecu that has a socketed EPROM, which i plan to fit a TT remap EPROM into. I have checked the PCB part numbers inside and they seem to be identical between the NA and TT boards, so i am rationalising that the only difference between the NA and TT is the EPROM which i wil be changing anyway. Is this correct or have i missed something?! Cheers M

My brakes are worn so was going to put in new pads . But i took the two pins out and the the spring but which bolts do i undo to left the caliper up so i can replace the pads. As i have not done this before the car is a M reg thanks:huh:

Detailing the Zed or Member on here that does it need my pain work polishing due to getting paint over spray on body work ... had the car covered up but did some spraying in the garage with silver paint and now i have big patch's of over spray on my body work ... most of both sides little on boot lid i have tried Tcut and that did some but not all Mark

went out in my zed this evening and had to use the lights for the first time ever as it was starting to get dark i noticed the light on the window switch but not one on the switch below for the other window ,,does it have a light or is it just on the switch for drivers window any one know?

Hi all! :yes: Just took Z For M.O.T today and it passed with 2 advisories!! :clap::clap: The car has been off the road for 4.5 years so I am quite surprised!!! It is running quite rough though and I suspect one of the cylinders is not firing, although it seems to do this once its got up to full temp!! Once this starts to happen it does not want to rev very high? Any advice on what should be changed after standing for such a long time would be appreciated... Many thx... Felt great to be back in the old girl!! :biggrin::biggrin:

Ive had the power steering pump and belt recently chagned on my 300 with new steering fluid. however the hicas light and the abs light remained on. Anyhow the car worked fine till now, everytime i turn the steering it makes a loud grinding noise and i can see the steering fluid has gone significantly low. could the grinding noise be due to lack of fluid or am i looking at a greater problem? Thanks

Currently sitting in the zx marquee with an ice cold beer! The atmosphere is great don't want this to come to an end but know one thing I'm coming back next year! Wish you were all here, as Tony the tiger would say its grrrrreat!!!!!

Hi guys. I've been running with an LC-1 temporarily fitted to one bank for some time now. Two problems, firstly (and obviously) this only shows the status of the 3 cylinder bank that it's applied to, the other 3 cylinders could be doing something completely different. Secondly, I've got it hard wired onto the battery with an 'on-off' switch which I have to manually operate when I start up/shut down, need a nudge in the right direction to help me wire it in a bit more permanently. Well I read in the paper today that the EU are trying to put in place that all cars in the UK to be completely standard ( as they came out of the factory) in order to pass an MOT, this includes wheels, exhausts and lights etc... any modifications whatsoever. This could effect over 28,000 enthusiasts/workers let alone us guys who go about our daily fix of modding. Wondering what are your views on this subject and could you see it being enforced?

I've been getting poor mileage lately and the car hasn't felt as sprightly as it should. So I hooked up my Consult and found that the near-side lambda sensor was 'stuck' at 0.2 volts, reporting a constant lean condition so the ECU was overfueling one bank during closed loop operation. A normal lambda sensor should fluctuate from 0.1v to 0.9v roughly once every 2 seconds on idle. So if you're getting poor mileage and are a bit down on power yet with no DTCs, don't rule out a shonky lambda sensor :thumbup1: I hate OEM lambda control with a passion so rather than bother fitting a new sensor, it's now completely deactivated in my ECU :ninja:

Well 10 years ago today I bought my 300ZX Twin Turbo!! Had many a happy time with it, lots of highs and lots of lows but above all its been my daily drive for the past 10 years!! Yes I have spent lots of money on it but not as most as some, the main thing for me was and still is to keep it maintained and running well. Love it and it will love you back!! Done lots of tasty performance mods along the way without compromising reliability...
