Hi guys, need some help here, been collecting a range of parts over the years and about to start my forged build. My aim is for max useable power stricktly for street use. The power related parts I have to date are: Wiseco 88mm Eagle rods Cometic mls Large side mount intercoolers Z1 GT675RS turbos and down pipes Std heads port matched and flowed Manual cams and possibly my limiting factor...my 550 injectors. Question is would I best be getting 720 injectors for the job?

What fuel do I run it on? 95? 97? or shell v power? tescos top fuel? its a 1990 model twin turbo 3l manual with just a powerflow exhaust no more mods, also think its got abit of a misfire through the revs at different rpms every now and then it takes off then bogs down feels like its holding back, any idea what it could be? Thanks

Evening all! Glad to see the club is still going strong after another long time away for me (no, I've not been inside, just yet another addition to the family and mad at work!) After covering only 500 miles in the last 4 years of Zed ownership (since "that rebuild"), I've finally decided to get her mapped. This has been partly prompted by my understanding MOT tester's ultimatum on my emissions ("I'm not passing her again next year Steve - get it sorted!"). Not sure what you call them... front corner splitters ? Usually mount 1 or 2 each side on the corner of the front bumper on a 45° downwards angle, only short ones maybe 30cm long?

Right I took my car round castle Combe at japfest, Last Friday I was sat at traffic lights and noticed smoke (blue) out of drivers side exhaust, Got home and left her running with no smoke after 5 minutes there was smoke again out of drivers exhaust, this kept happening while sat there 5 minutes nothing then 2 minutes of smoke, The next day I started her, there it was again this time more constant but not as thick, I topped up the oil and took her for a drive, for the first 10 minutes there was intermittant smoke then the rest of the journey (1/2 hour) there was nothing apart from a little puff from passenger sude( don't think my exhaust has a x or h pip…

I have no idea how the stock horn is wired in and while refitting my horn from the photos it shows the feed coming from here and the earth straight to the chassis nearby. The reason im questioning it is there was a relay with several wires coming out of it zip-tied to the live which I believe are junk now but I need to be sure.

So, after a good outing to Japfest last weekend, and a good run, I come to use the Zed yesterday and...nothing. Absolutely nothing. In this I mean, the Zed won't start. The alarm pings correctly, and when I put the key in to start up, I am reading 12.4v and all the gauges/instrument panel come on (including the battery light and exclamation mark as usual), but that is it when I turn the key. No sound of starter motor, fuelling, engine. Nothing, then within a second the TT comes on to count down its 30 seconds. Then the alarm kicks in as usual. I did notice also that when I tried to alarm/disalarm the alarm, it beeped at me four times on the disalarm. So, I am think…

hi guys ok iv put a tt gearbox manual with n/a flywheel clutch do I need a n/a starter motor or a tt one as I try to start the car and it sounds awful iv pulled the starter off and the teeth on the flywheel look as if I will damage them if I keep going, the starter will freeze and whine cheers ted

hi all need help with my boost controller. it says warning on the display and the gauge is illuminated in red. it used to be blue. is that a separate warning or fualty wiring causing it to change color? i have no clue how it works or if its even working at all. jeff said it was an old unit and i would like to have it replaced. when the car is off thats what is it reads when i think its working, engine on at idle and when i think its not, engine on at idle jeff also said that because its an old unit the afc was used to bypass the ecu pre chipping days. so would i just need to get it remapped? chipped? and drop the afc. i foun…

i'm looking at sending my front calipers away for a refurb,this means my cars layed up for a week but i dont want to crimp the pipes for that long ,can i buy some planks to go on the nuts i take out the calipers so i don't waste any oil if so what size thread is ? or maybe i could borrow some off a fello zedder

Saturday change over is always busy but today the phone has been red hot, which suggests many more zeds are getting Summer ready this year, lets hope the weather makes it a good year!! When we closed up we had a little trouble squeezing them all in but as always we managed it, however it seems a particular little red number sneaked in!!!

Would SMIC's with a total width of 410mm fit with the standard bumper ? ive removed the washer tank, the header tank and the CC ( im fitting smaller tanks after ive removed more of the excess crap in the engine bay) and the standard SMIC mounts. The coolers are 300mm high, 75mm thick and 410mm wide at the inlets ( well they will be after ive cut and welded them :offtopic:) just need to know if they would fit before i buy them :winkiss:

Hi all..ok this happend tonight and i some advice to what it could be. comeing home from work the car suddenly made a sort of whirring noise,at the next set of traffic lights i stopped and as i went to pull away..nothing,just revs and not moveing. i turned engine off then on again,put it into gear and for about 10/15 seconds it drove then once again lots of revs but not moveing. any help?
