So ever since I've started using my zed again, I'm getting used to all the noises she makes again. But the continuous faint whining (of viscous fan bearings?) is doing my head in, I can hear it faintly over the engine noise. Is this a common problem (viscous fan bearing noise) and easy to fix? Or is it something else common? Noticeable on idle, drops away a bit on revs.

Hi all, Ok, whilst stripping my rear sub-frame assembly today, with the plan to replace the rear disc guards; with the ones from the turbo sub-frame assembly, I noticed that one hub nut is way smaller than the rest, plus the treads on this one are much thicker, wider threads - I'm assuming this isn't normal? My thoughts perhaps that someone re-threaded it, or used a driveshaft from a different car... Will a turbo driveshaft fit an NA, so that I can replace this oddly threaded monstrosity? Also, will my rear turbo hubs / guards even fit on my NA, I do realise that the HICAS bush hole, on the hub arm, is smaller (and different) than the NA 'suspe…

went for trip to surrey rolling road today, was amazed the zed got there let along ran on the dyno and came home under its own power :blushing: it ran well 236.8 bhp, and 192.4rwhp, fueling was good, mods are full exhuast (headers, decat, catback), dual intake, and adjustable fuel regulator, still on standard map, will be interesting to see what it like once its mapped, and got it light prop and flywheel in. and im off to brand hatch on thursday for its first go on the track, to see where it needs improvement first. sorry for poor picture, will post some more once i get them, dont think its bad for an NA with 115,000km on the clock:blu…

I have this really annoying squeek in my car, I know this is a long shot asking here, but, I have had it about 2 years now and was convinced it was behind my dials somewhere, I have stripped it all and put back together and its still squeeking. Best heard coasting in neutral as the car goes over bumps. I am thinking now it may be the A pillar!? Its really bugging me now especially as I was convinced it was fixable by stripping the cluster area, and reinstalling everything tight together. It sounds like a bird is in my car, anyone else had this before? Thanks, Dan

Ok, so I wasn't sure where to post this, but bear with me. As some of you know Jimmer is doing an engine rebuild for me, which will soon be in my car. :cool3: My current engine will obviously then be in need of a new home. This engine has a full service history and is the original fitted to my car (a UK 93TT) 67k miles, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and has an extensive history with the cambelt, thermostat, etc being changed within the last 3k miles, the only reason I'm swapping it is I wanted some more power. I will need the ancillary items once it out like the power steering pump alternator etc. (turbos will stay with the engine,) but apart form …

Was changing the oil earlier today and to my surpise noticed that one of the front springs has snapped. It is broken in exactly the same place as a thread Jeff put up back in April regarding seeing lots of cars with broken springs. Not something I can tackle myself, so will have to get a garage to do it. What sort of springs are out there, I'm quite happy with the way the car drives, it's using Tokico shocks which were replaced before i got the car and I've no reciepts in my history for springs, so assume they are older and standard, but not sure how to check if they are standard or lowered? Cheers guys.

Today was the day, she has sat on the drive for 2 years, whilst he sister got all the attention, prior to that, she did the south of France 4 times carp fishing with me, blew her engine up playing with a DB7 in France, had a transplant from Uno's old zed and was bought back to life, attended a few meets, and destroyed 99% of the chavs in sussex. I owned her for nearly 6 years, she never complained as it was always the drivers fault. As she supplied bits to help her older sister out, but to have no rust and a very good shell, i just couldnt bring myself to send her to the scrappy. I advertised her on here. But no one wanted her, lots of lookers but no home, poor fairlady…

Hi I am refurbishing my Advan wheels and have removed the bolts in them, 160 in total, but sheared one of them. They are the 12 point flange bolt with dimple in the top, size M6 x 20mm Has anyone got any idea where I can get a stainless, zinc plate or titanium bolt or full set from. Want this as going anthracite with shiny bolts around. I have tried alibaba.com and got quoted $325 for 200 bolts (minimum order) plus shipping for titanium bolts but this is too expensive. Rob

Hi My wheels have no mark on them stating the offset, so i am trying to work it out. The front wheels are 8.5 J and the inside of the hub on the wheel is 15.5cm from the inner edge. They have 2cm wheel spacers on but what is the offset? My maths is shocking obviously. Anyone have any idea? Cheers

Hi everyone, it's been a long, long time. Just like Steve (Cybernet - how are you mate?), I promise I haven't been in the slammer doing time! Just been busy with family, work etc etc. I have a 92 Jap TT and have barely covered 10k miles during the past 12 years. I know, downright embarrassing. Having sat in the garage for the past 8 months, I was encouraged by a few mates to take it to Japfest. Apprehensively, I reconnected the battery, pumped up the tyres, fired her up and.......absolutely beautiful. I'd almost forgotten the howl from the V6 and the deep purr from the exhaust. Drive to Japfest was fun to say the least. It always amazes me how well these 20+ year ol…

Went for a nice short 10 mile drive tonight whilst it was quiet. Anyway, down a hill I gave it a few beans to 69.9mph and I hear a poof and then lots of white smoke suddenly appeared from the exhausts in the rear view mirror! So, I drive to a layby and see what is causing it and when I open the engine I see this... http://s265.photobucket.com/user/gregthay/media/20130606_201531.jpg.html So there is oil over the fuel filter, battery and on this side of the engine only. I notice white smoke from both exhausts though.. So I look underneath.. http://s265.photobucket.com/user/gregthay/media/20130606_201555.jpg.html Then ontop... http://s265.photobucket.com/user/gre…

YEAH!!!!!! After months..maybe years.. i have finally fitted the replacement gearbox into the car, i know its still got a long way to go but this has been a big milestone, i can finally crawl under the car without a massive lump of ally and a 3 ton trolley jack in the way. However, i have one question...how the hell do i put the 4 bolts through the starter gear into the Torque Conv. there's no bleeding room for them!! The starter hole has no gap big enough for the bolt Rich
