Seems odd how over the years we have dealt with jobs that seem to follow runs or trends, such as cambelt changes or heater matrix failures, one is a maintenance job which is understandable but the other is a failure that cannot be predicted but we do one and then we will do 4 or 5 in quick succession ?? so over the years we have gotten used to this but this year we have dealt with 3 or 4 engine fires this year? which is very odd, and have seen there is at least 2 more been reported here over the past few weeks. im in need of a good quality cover for my Z . im looking for something that is totally waterproof to go over the top of a breatherbul cover . maybe something that is tailored for a Z . has anyone got one or a link to a site where i can get one . cheers andy

If a Z32 has one fitted where is it located???? Secondly ... the wiring diagram shows a Diode pack in the circuit. Where is that located??

Hi All My 300zx tt auto had an undignified ride home last week on the back of a recovery truck. Upon investigation the conzult told me no signal from CAS. Cleaned connection tried another CAS still no go. Been out there today, stripped front down and found bolt holding tensioner pulley sheared off :( Whats the chances of no damage???, should i be hopeful or is it time to say goodbye. Before i move any pulleys is there any sequence/order i should move them in order to get them back in alignment? Will try and get another tensioner and do a compression check keeping fingers crossed. I am considering removing the cooler for the transmission and diff. I only use the car on the road and track driving not so much to nothing since it's over 400 kilimeters to the closest track. )had the car for 6-7 years now and still haven't been on the track:huh: I am replacing my diff and trans and the other parts do not have trans or diff cooling. Any special reson why I shouldn't remove the cooler ?

As I have just started to put my plenum back together, I thought I might as well check the plugs while I was at it. I always thought that if an engine is set up correctly, I would expect them to be a nice Orange to Brown colour. Would this be a correct assumtion for these motors also? I noticed that there are 2 different makes fitted, will this be ok? Should I also re gap them? if so what would be the correct gap? (1992 uk manual tt) Thanks in advance guy's. Dave.

During general servicing its not a bad idea to check those common issues that can occur and hopefully prevent a breakdown at a later date, last week during a routing service in the workshop the air flow meter connection was removed for inspection / clean, this was despite any running issues or fault codes. As you can see in the picture one of the terminals had started to corrode and had a very different look to the others, a quick clean and all was the same. Prevention been a better route than just assuming all is well, these connection issues can actually be the cause item failure, a case in point is the ptu which suffers from corrosion of the lower set of pins, …

i have sometime ago have taken my front bumper of and bined it along with the front indicators and lights holders in the bumper. My question is how do i wire the front plugs up that are there with the origanal three pin connecter plug so my indicaters dont flash two fast. when on hazard they work fine but when on indicatoe there to quick. thanks guys.

West replaced the clutch on his Z because it was slipping only to find that the new clutch is slipping! any help and advise i know would be much appreciated. dan.

I think this has been mentioned before, but how does the disc back plate / guard come off? I have a feeling the whole hub needs taking apart.

Hi I was talking to my brother about the HICAS system on the 300 im planning on getting the elimination kit from drifttworks but my brother mentioned that when he brought his it just had the fuse removed. What is the pros and cons about doing it this way? Cheers Rich

It would seem that to get the best out the vg block a 3" system is the better option. Now, if your waste gate vents to atmosphere, your not forcing the useless(in respect to producing boost) air down your exhaust system. This is obviously great, less air to be pushed through, less resistance etc etc, is this a correct thought process? If it is then realistically ifyou do vent to the wastegate directly, would you make the same gains on a 2.5" system as your pushing less air down the system, ie less requirement of the exhaust to process air, so a smaller exhaust can do the same job. Now is that legal? because your venting air without a silencer etc, does this still stay wit…

without wanting to sound darft ,my electric arieal worked before i took engine out of car now it dont go up but the radio trys to work but cant tune in cas the arieal dont go up and the fuse ant gone. dont reay want to try to run a seperate live to arieal if i can any ideas.

Anyone got one of these these things, what i need is one of the black little boxes of trix that make the rear lights work. its about three inchs by one inch and clips and plugs onto the off side rear lights inside minds gone .dont know what there called and i dont think theres any diff in uk and jap cas id borrowed mine fron my jap run around but cant steal that one cas than them lights woundnt work.

I was driving my zed today due to the wonderful weather (really enjoying it mind you). Going down a nice stretch of road. Car was perfect but all of a sudden the engine started to sound like a tractor and i quickly pulled over. Switched the car off and had a look, there was a massive trail of oil on the road were i been driving.... :censored: I had a look at the engine bay and couldnt really see anything..so had a look underneath and massive puddle of engine oil!!!! one of the oil cooler pipes had burst putting my engine oil out on the road.. no words to describe the feeling i was having. I called the aa and they recovered it for me to a garage were new engin…

car seem s to race from cold start then settle down to normal idle can any one advise please runs at 1.5 on cold but settles to 650 700 on normal

Hi i picked up a complete rear na subframe inc hubs etc yesterday[thanks tomomotana] i have 2 questions i take i need a swb rear section of the prop as it came off a lwb is this correct also can i use the lwb rear section off handbrake cable or do i need to use my swb one thanks taff .:thumbup1:
