  1. Bloody thing! Two days after parting with £400 to have the wheels diamond cut and lacquered it looks like the Z may have decided to kick me in the nuts... The thing's suddenly developed a mystery noise from underneath, sounds like engine bay area - a kind of rubbing/knocking that only happens only when going forwards, in or out of gear. It's road speed dependent and it's not the wheels/bearings, etc. Nothing's caught between the pads and discs and all the wheel nuts are on tight. In short I've exhausted all the cheap items of wishful thinking. Dreading that it might be gearbox... :scared: And it means losing a day or two's work getting it wherever it needs …

I finally got my 300 out for a test drive after sorting the water leaks but I feels slow and have no boost, it hose to 0 on the gauge but no further, what can this be?

since I've had my car the Speedo has been intermittent. I have posted this before but without success :( I have also trawled through the history/search, but still unsure. Ok, from research I believe the speed sensor sends it signal to the instrument cluster, magic happens and then the cluster sends the signal to the ECU. This is where I get confused..... I fitted a turbo timer this year and took the speed sensor signal from the wire at the ECU. My timer displays the speed accurately and constantly. No problems at all (in km only) So the problem must be in the cluster??? I've resoldered all the joints on the cluster pcb. I've hooked up a voltometer to the …

Has anyone tried or seen a set of 370z alloys on a 300zx?, I love the look of them and would love a set on my car but the rear ones seem wide although I recon they might just fit

We all know the series 4 clocks are different in design so that makes them really hard to come buy, So who out there has a series 4 with cruise that has the cruise lights at the top left of the panel ? I need to somehow see the pcb side and the wiring to get a set of my dash lights working properly. Cheers Lee

After my long road trip to JAE I gave the old girl some pampering. Starting with the front wheels I took them of for an intensive clean and polish plus the inside of the wheel arches were cleaned and sprayed with oiled. Alloy before wash clean and polish (inside) And after Used Turtle Wax Wheel Magic for the inside and Rimwax for the outside.

  8. I carried this mod out a while ago and did the write up here which is very often linked in threads http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/newreply.php?do=postreply&t=117007 I have added the following video to it which shows exactly what now happens, this is Ian Greenfields car and we worked together the other day and got this sorted for him. The sidelight bulbs were changed to white smd ones to match the HID's !! [video=youtube_share;NRWO8u1T4Pw]

Like a lot of people I removed the original Carbon Canister from the car to improve airflow through the larger aftermarket IC. http://s95014253.onlinehome.us/63104/6901.html However, I wasn't happy with the smell of petrol (not strong but definitely there) that resulted. This was most noticeable when opening up the garage, especially on a hot day. I felt this could potentially mask a more serious problem with a leak from the fuel pipework in the engine bay. My solution was to refit a smaller CC from a Skyline GTST relocated to a new position in front the engine radiator and reconnect all the pipes as before (except the one on the intake pipe from the a…

Well anyone with children will know that getting a car seat to fit in the rear of our cars is to put it bluntly a bloody nightmare. When my bumper was cracked and being fixed i came up with a damn good idea. To use the fiber glass past to make a seat base to help my car seats from sliding around on the leather seats. Here is my child seats in question. Now, with cloth seats the child seat isnt a issue as the seat + child compress the cloth and it holds the seat, with the leather seat the added stiffness means that the child seat only contacts in small locations allowing the seat to shift and move. the idea was to take a mold of the seat using…

I am going to treat my zed, I have never had a car that responds so well to a treat. It is sat a bit dirty and my girlfriend bloody curbed it yesterday so its not very happy. So ive ordered some redline mt90 gearbox oil. Ill do oil and filter too. Then clean polish and give it a tank of v power. Its the last drive arround the roads i know before i drive up to Lossiemouth on wednesday in it. Ill let you know how it responds.

  14. So, last week had a bit of a mishap where by my striking arm decided to come apart while driving and left me in 3rd gear. after a quick ring to JeffTT at zedworld, a new arm arrived the next day. A bit of welding work on the old one and i could drive it very carefully to my friends house in Corby to finally get to work on it. Though once welded, you need to leave your gear stick like this, or you will snap the weld when pushing left and right to get 1st / 2nd and 5th / reverse. the removed arm looked like this. Not the neatest weld, but only had to get me 15miles. and worked quite well. the U-Joint actually gives you left and right movem…

Need a new clutch. Something stronger than standard. What's good and where do I get it from? Also, might as well change my flywheel while I'm at it so some recommendations for that too. Anything else worth doing/replacing while I'm at it?

To go along with my new front end, I was wanting to black out the indicator/side lights to give it the black moustache type thing like Andy's was Using the search function I came across some old threads relating to tinting the lights, and some talk from Si about UK spec standard tinted corners, and of course these bad boys http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?167638-Tinted-Indicators-Back-up-for-sale-!!!&highlight=tinted+indicators looking about ebay and from a previous conversation with Tony B I found these ones http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/90-96-NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-TURN-SIGNAL-BUMPER-LIGHTS-SMOKE-/141068602557?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Access…

Vacuum lines? I am running a profec B and have deleted AIV, EGR, Water pipes, PRVR, wastegate solenoids.... I am left with 2 vacuum nipples on the Drivers side turbo inlet pipe and 1 on the passenger pipe..... do I just bung these up? I was just going to connect the 2 drivers side ones together and somehow bung the passenger one up? It's a bit confusing as to which vacuum pipes I need, as this is the first time the engine has been together after the TT install.... I think I understand that:- I take the 2 pipes from the Profec B II solenoid and connect the N/O to the actuators via a T piece...... the Com to the 2 pipes feeding the throttle bodies via a T …

Been on other US and Australian z32 sites and seems to be recent developments in intercooler pipe sizes. See link for some impressive numbers on stock turbos. Apparently IC pipe dimension can have a big impact on power. Any body tried bigger (2.5") intercooler pipes (with bigger ICs too)? http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=205330

Watching the pennies but not that much to buy crap tyres. I have on the front 9 inch wheels 235 40 18 on Toyo proxes T1 Sport and was about to order some of the same tyre on the back only 265 35 18 for £136. online normaly retail in shop around £170 mark. Then i now came across Toyo proxes C15 ONLY THE NEXT SIZE UP AT 275 35 18 For £128. each and they rate at 4.7 out of 5 and the ones i put on the front rate at 4.2 whitch is still a good tyre. You see , what would you lot do ? bigger tyre and cheaper or stick with whats on the front and stay with the 265 and pay a little more, but the other tyre has a better rate?

Keith (KJZ32) and I really do get about. Yesterday we left Keith's place at around 12:30. We went to see Mikey Bean in Doncaster to collect an exhaust and some clocks for Keith and I (Great to see you again Mike, and thanks for the much needed cuppa bud). From Doncaster we went to Leicester to see Baz to collect an engine for Keith (cheers Baz was good to see you and thanks for the tea). We then travelled to Derby to see Mark Derby to drop a drive shaft off for him, (good to see you buddy) your Zed is amazing. We then drove back to Keith's place where I picked up my car and drove home, getting back for 02:00 this morning. We start again on Monday, with a drive to Ma…

Hi All Just a quick question as I'm about to pick my Fairlady up (needs a flatbed). It needs a new battery (1.1V) and it's an auto, is it one of these autos that needs power to move? Someone told me some autos wont move without a power supply (news to me but not about to disagree). Andy
