I noticed that we get pages on threads now instead of having a huge list. But I have noticed that when you log on and all the updated threads are in red, you read one click back and they are all yellow again so you dont know whats new. Stuart

Been doing some research and if you have an import and are unsure of the exact date of manufacture then there are some big clues available - if you're prepared to look. This is reasonably important to me because my car was initially given a J plate rather than a K when it was imported, so this is all part of the evidence I will submit to the DVLA. 1. Seat belts have a date (year) printed on one of the little silver labels 2. On the rear light interior cover mouldings giving the month in which that batch was produced 3. On a label on the underside of the boot sound deadening giving what appears to be the date of inspection 4. On the top left hand s…

I have original body skirts/bumpers etc. and sometimes find it very difficult to avoid hitting the ground when leaving some petrol stations/mulit-storeys/turning at bottom of steep hills etc. How do you guys with even lower (and expensive and nice) aftermarket skirts stop this from happening ?

You may know this, but worth a mention... The rim on the edges of rear wheel arches can hold a lot of mud/dirt which dries hard. This can of course hold water next to body and cause rust. So regularly check wheel arches and scrape out dirt with hands.

Hello, I just obtained (for free) 1987 300ZX no turbo. The engine seems OK, the tranny needs work, the tops are missing, body has no rust, the car has been rear-ended, I plan to replace old lights on the back with round ones from Corvette, Supra, or Skyline. (whichever I can fit) I need all help possible to locate parts, and any tips possible from anyone who has similar vehile, or did the job. Other than getting it to run (first priority) how do you guys go about general restoration, locating parts, etc. I will be coming up with more detailed info, and questions, but I would love some head-ups of what to do and what to avoid. Also, I plan to kee…

Just crusin round Heathrow airport when my 300 suddenly developed a deathly squeal. When i checked under the bonnet, the fan seemed at a funny angle, causing it to collide with the belts and me coolant was gushing on to the floor! Is this the water pump? if not, answers on a postcard please! could it have caused any damage to the engine! and finally, do all 300's look as mean as mine on the back of a recovery truck!!!!!!!!!!Had the car 2 weeks and on first name terms wiv most AA employees

Just had a set of four Toyo Proxes fitted (265 35 18 back and 235 40 18 front). Got them for £528 including delivery and VAT, plus £30 for a local garage to fit them. I can honestly say these are the best tyres I have ever bought for my Z. I've had Pirelli P-zeros which were bloody awful. I've had Bridgestone SO2s (I think!) which were OK. I finally settled on using Yokohama AVS sports which I found great and used for about four sets. But after reading someone's opinions on the Toyos on here, and bearing in mind they were cheaper, I decided to give them a go. Glad I did. Brilliant tyre. Loads and loads of grip. Very progressive in the dry and the wet. Little bit…

...that when your out and about that 'other' sports car owners will never look at you or your car? . The only people that look are bystanders or the ones driving mondeos etc. etc.? Just wandered how many of you lot have noticed the same thing or is it a'regional' thing (doubt it?). Tony
