Don't suppose someone has the wiring diagram kicking around anywhere? I've trawled through the archives but the only link I found was dead. I'm refering to the one where you convert the inner brake lights and use a relay to keep them working when the fogs are off. Thanks, James

Just wanted to say Hi, after joining you for the first time. I am currently driving a Saxo VTS which whilst it reasonably nippy it's not powerful enough for me now nor does it feel much fun, so from the research I have been doing on the net it looks like I have found a perfect car in the Twin turbo ZX! :D I just wanted to ask you guys a little about the car as you are all experts. Hope you don't mind :) 1) I have been told to avoid Imports, due to insurance and to make sure any car I get has a turbo timer, is this correct? 2) What should I look out for when viewing TT's? 3) What are the running costs like, is servicing madly expensive or ca…

Hi All, I have a problem with the auto box on my car. I have lost 3rd and 4th gears so it appears a full recon of the box is in order. Should I go for a standard recon box at about £1250 or an SE fast road rebuild for £1850. I am currently pushing about 380 horsepower. Has anyone had any experiances with either recon boxes or the se fast road rebuild?? Finally: Anyone know where I can get a HKS ALC for my uk spec car and also where I can get an external oil cooler for the uk 300?? and any idea's on the sort of prices I should be paying for them. Cheers guys.

Hi Jeff, I am back from Cyprus tomorrow night and was wondering if you managed to get hold of the steering coloumn surrounds (top and bottom and whatever screw are needed) and also that carpet part you mentioned under the surround near the pedals. I will call you thursday morning after a good nights kip wednesday, I need it believe me! Hopefully, the fault I have is the problem with the coil packs (thanks BB members for your assistance) which I will check when I get up on thursday but I will call you all the same to see if I can pay you a visit to collect the surround. Mark.:D

Firstly, AT LAST - the site's working again! Secondly, picked my car up from PPS on Saturday - eventually! Here's the story.... Basically I booked the car in for the round light swap and the addition of a mid level rear wing back in October! There has been disaster after disaster over the suppliers of the wing and I have waited and waited. Eventually, I took the car in at the end of Jan - supposedly the spoiler would turn up the following week. I went skiing, came back and .... no spoiler. Suppliers had let Pete down AGAIN!!! 3 weeks passed and I really needed my car back. The lights and tailgate skin were there... just no spoiler. Soo.... …

Right. Penis that I am, I let the engine run low on oil recently and now I've got some mild big end bearing noise. So these have obviously taken some damage and I'm thinking about rectifying this before things get any worse. Now opinions are very greatfully received on this as I'm not sure how to go about this or even if it's worth it. I've done this before on other cars from underneath with the engine in place. Does anyone know if this is possible, worthwhile and workable on a Z? If so, how easy is it? Pulling the engine isn't an option as I'm too busy etc. So opinions please. Can it be done and how easy? Cheers all Mike

Hi All, The clutch booster which I'm fitting to my car looks different to the one in most of the diagrams I've seen. Anyone know if there's two models? I'm a bit concerened I may have the wrong part. Diagrams show the unit having a grommet fitting into a recess where the vacuum feed enters - mine has no recess and no grommet (?) Cheers! RobH

I have a Corsa which I am trying to get to be my daily driver, but the driver wheel is badly cambered in. We have changed the strut, wishbone and balljoin but its still bent in, quite badly. I noticed today that the drivers wheel seems to be more towards the back of the wheel arch while the other is in the middle of the wheel arch. You get what it mean? What could this mean? Is the frame bent? Any help please on what to do with it. Stuart

Anyone know where to get these apart from Nissan? I have a couple that are a bit sticky due to corrosion. I'd already re built and the calipers, cleaned everything done the seals and even painted the darn things but after a trouble free year I had signs that one front hub was always hot and it seems to be because the 2 sticky pistons on one side are causing the pads to drag the disc a little. The pads have worn to the rusty bit on the piston and when I took the pads out for a looksee I could see fresh rust under the dust cover which is obviously the sticking point. Still stops great and doesnt pull or anything but one side hot and the other cool bothers me. C…

Down the east Lancs dual carrage way coming back from Salford where there are about 5 sets of lights and a few roundabouts on a national speed limit road. First set of lights I just had fun, the TC was on 10% The Jag was next to me but I didnt take any notice. Next set of lights I wasnt really bothered but I noticed the Jag driver really trying. So floored it when he was about 2 cars infront and blew past him. Next set of lights, I hear his engine reving, not having any of it I waited till the lights went green and then floored it. It was like he was going backwards and I did him again at the next set of lights. After that he pulled up behind me every time. :D Su…

Got to be vaery careful here, but i only bought my Z from a garage in Liskeard, Cornwall 3 weeks ago, with a brand new MOT and service and the speedo is registering 130mph doing only as a guess 50mph!!!! Can anyone let me know if selling a car with a speedo not working is illegal and if the car is deemed then unroadworthy? Would it have failed its MOT? Am i driving illegally? The garage concerned said it would fix it but to date has made no effort to get the car back in. Does anyone know what the problem is (may have asked before - sorry) and where i can get the part from so i can tell this garage where to get it before i go to my solicitor and sue them. …

Apologies for the recent downtime. The OS was suffering frequent kernel panics, which were becoming closer and closer together, and more and more annoying... We have moved the entire site to a backup while the server undergoes a complete reinstall. from linux98me to linuxxppro :D hope your cold turkey has been bearable ;)

Where abouts is the lock number stamped on the lock barrels? I have taken the door lock out and removed the barrel but theres nowt there! Is it cunningly hidden? Do they only stamp the lock no on the lock for the boot? I have a nice new blank key and I'd rather try and get it cut from the computer (using the lock no) rather than matching it to the rather worn titanium key. Any advice appreciated. Nick

I was wondering what it is that finishes off a turbo. Seems to me that a manual driven hard gives the turbo the hardest time with the pressure shocks and turbine decelerations each time the throttle is slammed shut at max boost while you change gear. You then depend on recircs or bovs to ease up on it. An auto doesnt do this because you keep the throttle wide open all the way up the gears. The only time you "shock" it, as it were, is when you lift off suddenly at max boost. So maybe turbo life is more related to how many max boost gearchanges the car gets rather than simply mileage.

Hoping to purchase a Z at the end of this month & obviously running costs are an issue to think about. My cousin was round tonight & reminded me that his dad does LPG conversions. Will this run ok with the Z, can the engine still be tuned when running on gas? If it will work I can probably get it done pretty cheap (ish). I've been on the SXOC for 18 months or so & never heard it mentioned but I wonder if that's just 'cause of the cost of conversion.

Hello all. Completely new to all this bulletin board kind of mullarkey but as I`ve lurked for a while I thought I`d better register and post seeing as how i`ve now got car to talk about. Love it to bits. 1991 import and, as far as I can see, totally original with 55k. While the weather has been a bit dodgy up North its spent a lot of time wrapped up warm in the garage waiting for the sun. Stand and look at it a lot and drag everyone else in to look at it. Only has the original stereo in so still having to use tapes-remember those? And favourite for driving to.............The Rezillos-Can`t Stand The Rezillos. Dodgy I know, but hey... Anyway. Far too much for first po…
