Sounds quite bad, thought i blew me engine, have i? does any1 no what it could be? The knocking sounds like when u hold the end of a stick to a bicycle wheel..... thanks jaz

Guys, Popped out in the Z tonight and the second fan came in after a few miles no warm air out of the vents spotted the gauge move off the norm so i stopped the Z at once!!!!!. All the water had gone?????got some water from a pub and got the Z home without any movement on the gauge. As i put the water in, it slowly disappears and still no warm air, whats happening? no sign of it underneath. Ken Z

Im getting a strange gurgling noise from the near side around by the bulkhead. I've had this problem before and apparently there is a valve down that way that needs bleeding now & then. Does anybody know what this might be & where i can find it.

Hello all, i'm in the market for a 300zx. I have found one that is within my price range, but has 160k miles on it. The engine has been replace due to a broken timing belt, and the new engine has 19k miles on it. It has a new clutch in it, and the interior is aftermarket. I would like to know if there are any other areas that i need to have checked for repairs, or if any major work is coming my way soon, such as a new transmission or suspension. Thanks, if you could email me I would appreciate it. whtmike102k@hotmail.com

I have a 90 zxtt 2+2...I was driving down the M5 last week at approximatley between 120 and 140mph for an hour or so during the early morning, when all of a sudden the car seemed to jump out of gear and the rev counter shot right up while using o/d. i slowed down to 90mph turned the o/d off it was fine while in 3rd gear until i put the o/d on again and i reached over 120 then it slipped out of gear again....i got it home..the next morning i checked the autotrans fluid level which was ok,then took it out for a test drive to see if the box had just a temparary fault but had even worse problems...it wouldnt change from 1st to second or to 3rd gear unless i took my foot off t…

Hi, after the long thread re sandwich wrapped headliights I drove mine last night and the dipped beam, whilest not very deep is OK, in fact it is on a par with my Xantia diesel runabout, which has good headlights. Mine is a '93 series 2, maybe they improved them? Anyway thats it really, just thought I would say.

Hi guys I've got a funny rattle coming from the engine... I had teh cambelt changed a couple of months ago and about a week after it had been done it started to develop this intermittent rattle. The rattle's got progressively worse and is now there all the time. It doesn't sounds metallic like tappets - it sounds to me more like a plastic rubbing on plastic noise, but a definite rattle. And it rises with the RPM. I'm thinking maybe the monkeys at the Nissan dealer have put a belt back on or something and its rubbing on something else..? I though it might be the fan but the noise is defo coming from the vicinity of the engine block ... Any advice m…

Hey guys! Just to prove that our cars don't necessarily have to be the petrol guzzling monsters we all know them to be: Drove down to Torquay on Friday afternoon to spend a weekend with the godchildren. It was a 198mile door-to-door trip which took us about three and a half hours (including a half hour break at Wimpy's for a much needed burger). Drove the car around there on Saturday and Sunday and then back up to Birmingham. I filled the tank up with Optimax before setting off on Friday and have managed to make the complete round trip on it! That is a good 410 miles driven on about 12 gallons of juice (the empty tank indicator has not come on yet so I reckon I …

Hi All, I'm having a bit of trouble locating any clutch servo circuit hoses with good price and availability. There are five of them and they run from the intake manifold balance tube to a couple of vacuum tanks, a 3 way connector and check valve to the clutch booster. Can anyone suggest any reasons not to use standard pipe such as 8mm fuel hose which seems to be of similar construction but is a bit more flexible. Anyone got any data for the sort of vacuum created in the inlet manifold? If I knew what sort of vacuum the pipe needed to withstand I think I'd be able to source appropriate hose. At the other end of the clutch circuit I'm short of the flexible h…

tried changing the shoxs on my car yesterday.. WHY IS NOTHING STRAIGHT FORWARD? started on front, undo bolts at the top, undo bolt at the bottom, prises shock out only to see the hub jump up several inches. upon looking at the hub and seeing that it has moved upward because it is sprung by the anti roll bar, i see that i am already doomed to fail as there is no way on this earth that i will be able to lever the hub down far enough to bolt on the new shock.. however i'll worry about this later as the old shock has a knackered bump stop and a shagged dust cover so new ones must be found.. trip down to halfords, " u got any bump stops? or universal dust covers?" …

Thanks for the advice of the calipers. They were on a helix so turning them did do the trick. Funny thing is, at one point it got a bit scary cus I had bent a rachet extension, snapped a screw driver in half and broke a 4" G-Clamp in half to I assure you, the information was very well received. Cos
