On the Z I'm hoping to purchase end of this month, the bloke thinks the roof is leaking but my mate who's a mechanic & did some work on it recons it's the window not seating properly 'cause of some broken plastic thing in the door which he's gonna fix. Can the leaking Targa be a big problem to sort out if it is this? Cheers.

No this is not yet another thread debating headlight mods. I simply need to know how to change the headlight bulbs? Had a look under the hood and couldn't even figure out where to start (born techy can't you tell..) Can anyone point me to step-by-step instructions, or give me a clue??? While your at it, how are the fogs changed? Cheers

Hi folks! Ok, went to have a look/test drive of a 200SX - it was sold. Cue salesman to ask "what about a 300ZX? they're a lot more fun."... One LONG test drive later (on my own :rolleyes: ) and I'm hooked! It was an Import 2 seater targa TT, red, standard - new auto box and 55k miles... Question - before I go hand over some cash, is there anything in particular to look for on these cars?... also, what about a lot of the Jap import/dealers here in the South west - any to avoid, or any to head straight to?? Help much appreciated folks...... JFF :D

Hi everyone, I was away last week - hope you're all doing great. Anyway - I've decided I'd better look into replacing rear spoiler, as oem one is starting to perish. I know about the Z centre stuff, any ideas and addresses for Essex, Herts or nearby for rear spoilers? I've also attached a pic of my 300zxtt with the '99 spec f/bumper for you to see. So - finally I'm posting so I guess I must be serious. Here's the deal: I'm nearly 24, and currently drive a saxo VTR which I've owned for over 2 years - the car handles beautifully, and has been a joy to own. However, I feel the time has come to change it for something with a little more power. I don't want to spend a fortune changing the car and can't see that there's a more value-for-money sports car than a used Z when you combine performance and good looks (other options: fiat coupe 20V turbo = not sure about looks, fiat reliability, Scooby turbo = non-coupe looks and higher price). Current brakes are looking tired. Feels like at least one piston is sticking, pads are low and disks look worn. So I'm thinking of upgrade however on a budget. I have done a bit of a site search on Skyline front brake disk/caliper replacement which sounds tempting, but I'm not sure which ones to go with. ( If I can find any decent ones). I have heard of R32, R33 and R34 models being used. The main problem is I will be using stock wheels. If anyone has swapped these units or knows which is the best direct replacement for a UK 1991 auto I would be very grateful for any info!! Are we talking much improved braking over the old units or should we just …

Got my Z back this week after going on 5 months. It's had a full engine rebuild with Ross pistons, Nismo steel head gaskets, oversized intercoolers (thanks to TimmyTurbo), and huge ballbearing turbo's (not sure exactly what they are; universal turbos built them and they have Garret stamped on them, but no recognisable model - GT25 , GT28 etc.) Only problem I've got now is fuelling - at 1.25bar its right on the limit of what the standard injectors and fuel pump can handle, so next week its going back to the garage for an uprated fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator to keep me going until I can afford my 750cc injectors. The end goal is to get around 500rwhp …

talking aircon I've got a jap-TT with aircon, but I can't seem to make the air come out of anywhere other than the windscreen vents. Nothing comes out the side vents or the under dash ones. Result = frost bite in the toes and red head ... I've tried every combination of button pushing I can think of. Am I missing a buton somewhere or has a fan/pipe/valve/heater matrix/what-ever gone?? all the dash controls appear to be working fine. lights come on when pushed etc. aircon is responcive to temp changes, but no air flow other than windscreen vents Any ideas :confused: Cheers Mark

Hi, Firstly I would just like to say that I love my zed after 3 days of driving it, the best car I have ever owned and found out today that I can lower the rear of the seat as well as the front, dead clever that although it is now like I am sitting on the road with a tuft of hair sticking over the steering wheel, cool though. I got about 250miles to a full tank, is this normal? If so, anyone know of any cheap petrol shares? Secondly, where can I get some small 'www.300zx.co.uk' stickers for my rear windows, I seen them on another zed and they look really cool. Third, I am taking out my stereo tomorrow and need something to fill the other gap where the…

doe's anyone know any where i can have my auto transmission over hauled at a sensible price...its a low milage box so it would need slight attention....and is there any way of cleaning or freeing a sticking gearchange soleniod...my second gear is not functioning due to a soleniod possibly sticking...as box overheated during a long run...Cheer's

Hiya, Carrying on from my post about selling my Zed yesterday, I've been thinking for a while that I could actually use it instead? For thos ethat didn't see my post yesterday, I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of mine because I don't use it. I do a 110 mile round trip to work every day and I use a Mondeo, so my Zed just sits around gathering dust and costing me money every now and again.. Bearing in mind it's got 79500 miles on it already, how do these cars stand up to the kind of mileage I have to do every day, if I were to ditch the Mondeo and use the Zed? Am I likely to experience engine trouble in 10K miles or so? Thanks for your help.. …

Hi all, This is my first post on this very active forum. So far the only active forum about 300ZX’s I know. So a small introduction would be appropiate. I’m a 21 year old student. I study Civil Engineering in The Hague (Holland, I’m Dutch). It’ll take another two years before I finish my study. Hopefully i’ll get a job with a decent income. My second car that’ll buy will be a 300ZX TT, at the moment I dont have a car. But when I finished my study I’ll buy the car currently owned by my dad. Hi, I have spoken to Bosch UK Technical Dept about a higher CC replacement for the Zeds injector! They say they have found a higher CC side feed injector ( the EV10 series), but without the actual physical dimensions and impedance of the ZED injector being available they cannot help me any further! Can anyone help? Also does anyone have contacts in German 300ZX forum as they would have probably sourced one by now if anyone would! Mark

Hopefully some one can help with the above called a couple of tyre places and they either don't wanna help or they don't know ???? I am running 265/40 ZR17 on the rear and 235/45 ZR17 on the front ...... At the moment there on 28 front and 30 rear got 100 mile round trip tom so want to make sure there right

Hi everyone.. I drive a "92ZX tt manual in Singapore.. Currently I'm facing some problems with my Zed doing sharp cornerings at high speed... and during launching.. I find that my tail is swaying.. I had been told by friends that removing the HICAS will solve the problem.. I had been looking at some HICAS eliminator on Ebay with Stillen specs.. but none could advise me on how to properly install the eliminator. I do have my own garage.. but my mechanic had not installed this before as Zed is a rarity here in Singapore... and furthermore, there's only two twin turbo 300zx in this island which the other is an auto transmission.. Could anyone advise on the installation, …

Hey like to say that i now own a zed!! (down side is dont pick it up till the 8th of march!!) its a jap import 1995 twin turbo just one querry so far (im sure there will be more in time!) there was no boost gauge in the car is this right for the later model cars or is there something strange going on??

A funny occurence and a question... Was trotting into the office today, behind an Escort, no geat rush. Didn`t see behind but a Mitsi Evo VII trying to make a point blasted past, engine screaming away, when a plume of blue smoke appeared from his tail..posible turbo seal perhaps...prat. Anyways, my zed with mods has around 430BHP. How do you folk think it would cope with an Evo or M3/M5 on a 0-60 basis. I am a bit of a grandad and very rarely use the turbos but do get a bit annoyed with the M3 factor, ie getting as close as possible to your rear bumper before overtaking. Stock 0-60 is about 5.6 secs with 280BHP, so how fast do you reckon a Zed can go with 150BHP…
