Hi All, This is doing my nut in!! Some geezer's supposed to be sending me a replacement loom for my auto/man conversion. It's the last part that I need and I (and my mechanic) have been waiting for it for over 2 weeks now :-( still not been sent. I'm not convinced it ever will be - cheque went in post almost 3 weeks ago, don't think it's been cashed yet but Gnat West are offering their usual crap web service at the mo' so I can't check. Does anyone know how to adapt the loom from the auto TT to make all the electrics work with the manual? I'm sure it must be possible - anyone tried it? Failing that, anyone got a Manual one gathering dust? Or anyone in Brist…

There are a lot of companies that supply bits and bobs for the Z in the USA ,these are generally cheaper than what we can get it for over there. Saying that when you add on the postage and the dreaded tax, then the savings aren't usually that great. I've got relatives in the US, so if I ordered something and got it sent to them and they then sent it on to me, would that be a way of avoiding the tax? Anyone know? Cheers, F.T.

My rear passenger tyre keeps going down. I have taken it to my local tyre place and they testing it and there is no puncture and the valves are fine. Could it be possible that the alloy is actually leaking? I know it can happen but is this what it is like? Today my rear was down to 12psi :( and it was at the correct pressure about a week ago, yet there is no visable nail or hole and the valve is fine and there is no puncture. Any ideas what it could be? Stuart

After test driving both a 300ZX and Fiat Coupe, and considering the horror stories about keeping a RX7 on the road, I am leaning towards buying a Zed. I received this from Jason at Bonsai cars... I was wondering about looking at RX7 turbos as well as 300ZXs. Anyone had one/Driven one? What are they like for reliability because I've heard some horror stories? I don't car too much about the 16mpg I just don't want too many £2000 repair bills. I've also heard they NEED an engine rebuild at 60,000 miles! Any thoughts?

My mates after a custom leather full interior for his Skyline-blue 300ZX. Think he really wants silver?/blue piping, but think he may opt for something else. Anyone got anything of interest as I think he just wants rid of the cloth. It doesn`t do the car justice! He`s also got a red 300ZX for sale. Think it`s L-reg. got tan leather ,after-market alloys, looks fantastic. £6995. Can find out more tomorrow if anyone`s interestd.

What's the best way to get the car running at maximum boost and know you're not detting? I've seen a detonation warning gauge on a site somewhere and wondered if these are any good? Am I better getting an exhaust gas temp meter instead? I've got a boost controller so safety boost is mostly bypassed. Had one engine die from possible detonation at high revs and don't want it happening again... :(

HI All, I have a friend in the auto trans game, he has been doing them for more years than I can remember, about 20 I guess. I called in to see him today but he was not in, on road test. I spoke to his mechanic who gave me the price of about £1000.00 for a guarranteed rebuild, (12 months) full rebuild not a repair, inc torque converter and labour in and out. He is based in Aylesbury, Bucks, on one of the industrial estates. I can possibly get this reduced if enough people are interested in starting up some sort of dialogue. ??????? Any responce????

After I get the resurrected beast back from jeff at the weekend the next job is going to be to get my exhaust blow seen to (quite a nasty one).. and thought I may as well start investigating exhausts and prospects of a de-cat job. Firstly, which is a decent system to go for? Jeff mentioned the Mongoose supplied by ZCentre is pretty good... Secondly is it worth having the de-cat job done, if so, by who, any horror stories, and how much performance gain is there? It's a mid 1990 H plate so legally speaking it's okay for a de-cat.

I've had a Celica for a few years, and I fancy a change so I'd been looking around and had been thinking of getting a Honda Prelude (2.2 VTEC). So, I took one for a test drive last week - OK, but not that much quicker than the Celica and I didn't like sitting in it. The dash was too low! I know that probably shouldn't be a big factor in selecting a car, but I just didn't feel comfortable. Cut to this week. I had arranged to meet my brother for an evening pub meal. I got there a bit early and was thinking of killing a little time when I spotted a ZX on a fore court at about £5.5. I've always liked 'em, but this one really struck me so I decided to check it out f…

Hi, What diameter gauges fit in the space below the radio? And where can I get the predrilled panel to accomodate them? Are there any other methods of attaching gauges apart from the A pillar method as the convertible has a different A pillar! The stillen centre shroud is too expensive! Anyone know of an EGT gauge that will fit in that space, that shows peak hold or history and has a warning feature? Mark

As some of may know, I'm going to picking up my zed next week, only problem being it arriving in Southampton - it'll cost a fortune to have it delivered to London!! Only idea I have so far is to book an MOT near home and drive it back - I think this is legal, even the girl at the port suggested this. Of course having no plates will attract a lot of attention and I'll probably get pulled over a fair few times :( So... does anyone know where I can get trade plates that will be valid for the day or week? Or better ideas? Thanks in advance, James
