I've never understood why you can't tow an auto? What is it about them that makes it a no no? Would have though if it's in neutral it wouldn't matter.

Post frenzy tonight :D Right, i only have 225/45/16 front tyres yet the driv side wheel rubs slightly on the arch liner when turning sharp left. i think the liner is pretty smooth ie not sticking out, what can I do - 16" and rubbing goddammit?! I'm sure ripping the arch liner off would be bad, and I'm not *that* bothered by it, but it'd be nice to fix :) Thanks in advantix Pete

Help !! I tried to change the fuel tank today on my UK 300ZX TT. Got the old one off OK. But I can't get the new one on properly. The 2 straps won't stretch to the bolt hole under the bumper. You'll know what I mean if you done one before. Is there any technique involved in getting the bolt through the strap into the bolt hole. I'm about 3cm short. Any help greatfully received (and a discount on your next order!!) Thanks AndyZ

for anyone who may have attempted this.. Are they a straight swap? ot are there a few wires to change around. And if anyone knows which wire is for the fog-light warning that would be great. Passed the MOT today, so hope to get round to doing this in the next few days. Cheers, James PS talking about MOT's, had to go to three stations before I found a ramp I could get on! and even they had problems :(

...Is there a product to keep the leather interior silky fresh and supple? Kind of like an automotive Oil of O/Ulay. Cos I've notice the odd dry patch. And while I'm talking moisturisers - why do car dealers put that cacky waxy stuff all over the dash?! Had it on my old Astra and it just attracted cat hairs and made your fingers feel greasy. DON'T DO IT!! Cheers Pete

Hi again folks Engine running/performance thing cured. Seems that the wire I found dangling under the front bumper was a connection for one of the sensors. When I connected it up, the ecu must have started to relearn settings, cos the more I drive it, the less evident the problem is.....thanks for all your help though. Another problem tonight though....came to drive home and...no lights....eventually nailed it down to a 10 amp fuse in the drivers footwell....replaced it and poof! it blows again. Any of you come across this problem before, or do you thing it is a bad or wet connection somewhere? Thanks Steve

Hi people, I would really appreciate any feedback you may have on this one. Last week I parked up and after about 2 minutes with the engine off, steam started coming out from the engine somewhere below the battery. So I have just got the motor back from the garage who ran a coolant check, pressure check and a number of other tests, they said it was AOK, so I thought it might have been collected water (?) (I had Jet Washed the car that day) that had ran down onto the engine when I drove up my steep drive at home. But I've just driven it home and the same thing has happened again, it doesn't happen straight away (about 2mins after its parked) and it steams for abou…

Might be a bit hard to answer this one - cos the stock oil pressure gauges aren't really calibrated... But I saw on another thread talking about knackered oil pumps and noisy hydraulic-ing at idle. Well, when the engine is idling, I'd say the pressure is in the bottom quarter of the gauge with Mobil 1 oil, but about midway when the engine is over about 2000rpm. It sounds healthy enough, doesn't really have heavy oil consumption (despite having 125,000miles). Is there any way to tweak up the oil pressure relief valve on these pumps? Thanks for any advice. PS Anyone want any stock wheels?

Can you tell any thing from the cars chassis number? I am only asking as i have bought an import and am just wondering if the chassis number means anything as in year of manufacture, model. When i had my 911 the chassis number told me the year of manufacture, body style and where the car was manufactured. Ray

Hi Guys + Gals, I want to put a CD player in my Jap ZX, coz the one it came with doesn't have the band width for our FM stations, but there are 2 sections for the stereo and I (obviously) only need to install a standard UK stereo. Any suggestions? Is it possible to get a plastic cover to just clip into the redundant gap? WHat have the rest of you import ZX owners done? Cheers peeps

I'm just about to order a sub box for the Z - not that I even own one yet but still! I just want to make sure I get one that will still fit in the boot OK, so can anyone tell me how deep the boot is from the bottom of the rear window to the floor please? From what I can remember from my old Z, I think it was about a foot and a bit, but I need to be sure. Cheers :)

Ok, I need to find out if my paranoia is getting just TOO ridiculous or not.... When you accelerate in your Zed (in normal traffic flow) do you get the turbo boost indicator to 0 or over? Mine is an auto and to keep up with normally accelerating traffic, I have to get the indicator to 0 or just over. Is this a mark of the autos changing up as soon as possible or what? It takes me about 8-10 seconds to get from 40-50 in third without going into the plus half of the boost gauge. Just wondering folks....come on, tell me I`m being just a little too neurotic here.....

After my post about my car behaing badly at idle and sometimes when cold shutting down I decided last Sunday to try few of what u guys told me and so far everything seems to be ok. The only think I did is to remove the Air Idle Regulator (Dont know if this is how its called) that closes after five minutes. I opened it and cleaned using WD-40. I also use WD-40 for all the connectors. Then I also discovered that one of the engine vacuums was disconnected (this causes erratic idle i know for sure). After putting it back I start the car and so far is working fine. Tip: I aslo cleaned my engine with WD-40. You wont believe how clean it gets. I used it ev…

Hi all. The saga with my ZX continues. I was sold this car with the Speedo totally inaccurate. 2 journeys to the garage and still no joy. Back in on friday where hopefully it will be fixed. The garage in Liskeard is now going to be investigated by Trading Standards and possibly the police as when you buy a car from a garage it must be road legal and if not contravenes some construction and roadworthy act. My home insurance wants to sue them for compensation now aswell. so: When buying a car, before you sign any docs or hand over money, take the car out for another test drive to see if anything is missing or broken. If so you can reject the car under the sales o…
