General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Further to my last request for info on a brake problem, the ABS light did come on today for approx 5 miles until the engine was switched off. Is it possible to disconnect the ABS untill I get it sorted?

Front of engine to the right of radiator in the corner with yellow top :confused: :confused: I know silly question:( ps i've still got that leak some one said it was the air con expelling moisture but it is still dripping very slowly not as much as last night:confused: :confused: any ideas Andy

Driving the car today lowish on petrol just below 1/4 tank and every time i took me foot off the accelerator to slow down the car kangarood applied a little throttle and all was ok , filled up with petrol and the problem was much better although still there a little bit Just had a new CAS connectror put on as the old one cracked and caused mahem every time i hit a bump, ie car cut completally out any bodies ideas would be appreciated The car is a 91 Auto

:( Headache..... After running my engine in with TotalSeal rings - I've apparently got a problem which haunts most toalseal users - oil burn, and lot of it! So.... I need some 88mm (which is 1mm oversize for the VG30) rings. Nissan only go to +0.5mm, Johnny @ GPS hasn't a clue, and my local engine builders only suggestion is the 200SX rings - which are the correct size and shape apparantly - can anyone confirm this? (88mm, 1.6 top, 1.6 scraper, 4mm oil) Any help regarding 200sx rings or where i may source some rings from would be much appreciated Cheers

Sounds like I may have to replace the clutch to sort out the release bearing :( apart form the annoying squeel, what other damage is being done? And considering I only have upgraded exhaust at the moment and don't plan on any performance mods in the near future ( want to make sure everything is sweet before modding) is it worth staying with stock or going for an aftermarket one like RPS from Smithy? Is there much difference is price? Thanks guys! James

Can anybody tell me how long it should take to get the injectors out? A local garage has told me it takes about 2-2.5 hours. Hopefully cleaning/replacing the injectors will get rid of the poor running. Was also told that the fuel pressure was running too high. Could the fuel pressure reg be faulty?

A mate of mine was going to buy a TVR Griffith but after testing one called me and asked how to find a decent Zed. I gave him a drive in mine last summer and apparently he aint forgotten. ( I think it was the Transformers soundtrack that pinched it for him) He`s seen one at a garage near St Neots in Cambs. but don`t know a thing about a TT Zed (94 import). IS there a chance that anyone here might be willing to help a future Zedder out? Any help would be appreciated as I don`t want him to end up with a nail.

I saw my first Zed in over 8 months as I was trundling into the office earlier. It was blue....never seen a blue one before! A BMW 318 Ti overtook me and I was barely through saying prat when this blue streak shot by me. That Zed was seriously moving!!! A41 between Newport and A5 junction....anyone here??? If so, congratulations! Made the beemer look a real ass.

drove home about an hours journey away, went in had tea, came out looked under car (don't know why:confused: )there was a wet patch passenger side towards the rear of engine bay, the fluid was not warm but cold and it was clear not dirty any ideas??:( :( Andy

Did anyone buy this months Evo Magazine? In the first few pages, amongst all the new & future car release stuff was a paragraph about a new patented BHP quick-fix. Kinda like nitrous injection, I'm no techie but it sounds effective... The system uses the car's airconditioning system to cool a body of fluid (coolant?) down to a low temp in a separate tank. Then you've got a button on your dash which dumps the fluid into your intercoolers, geddit? Hi guys, My car has recently started smoking a bit. At first I assumed it was the turbo seals, but now I'm not so sure. It doesn't do it first thing in the morning, or when flooring it, only when I'm stationary or just slowing down at lights, etc. It then lets out a smallish cloud of blue smoke and then the smoke stops. It also seems to only do it once on any given journey - this morning it was after driving for around an hour, the other day it was after 20 minutes or so. I decatted the car late summer last year and at the MOT in early December they mentioned that it was a bit smokey although it did pass the emissions test. Any ideas? Thanks

For those for you that have the rear lights tinted. Can I ask how you did it ?. Film or spray ? I wanna do mine as they kinda stand out a bit now I got the windows tinted.

I would like to fit this spoiler to my 300zx 2+2 (when the car arrives from japan!) but stillen only advertize it for a 2seater and all the pics of different cars i have seen on the internet have it fitted to 2seaters. Hi RS*R Lowering springs for a 300zx?? (z32) I know where there are a set for sale, the people dont know how much it will drop the car, they just know they are good springs. Does anyone know how much they go for?, how much they lower? and how good they are? Also, can anyone tell me a good recommended amount to drop my 300zx? Thanks Tom
