ABS Light

Further to my last request for info on a brake problem, the ABS light did come on today for approx 5 miles until the engine was switched off. Is it possible to disconnect the ABS untill I get it sorted?

    If the ABS light is on then in effect the ABS is switched off!

    No, the problem is, is that the light coming on is intermtant. Therefore, I want to switch it off completly untill I can get it sorted
