here goes,had my zed for a while then the rad sprung a leak,had it recored,then the water pump went n took out belts as well so was all replaced,then the top water hose on the rad split n also was replaced,this was over about a 2 month period.And just to top it off on thursday the rad burst down the right side popping out the seal,so i think the twats who recored it didnt do it properly,so it was sent back n them n they say tuff luck not fixing it because my water system is running to high a pressure n its not there fault,could this be true or r they just trying it on,help me please ................................

Speaking to Vinz on the blower and he said SE were painting a Z in this colour,and he loved it,anyone got any pics? cheerZ Mac.

Hi all, The radio reception on my import is rubish - I get a very inconsistent radio 2 (I'm getting old!) and very few other stations. Apparently the car has the adaptor that connects the UK stereo to Jap arials so I'm not sure what esle to do. Any thought? Andy F

Hi, I've got a knock sound/feeling coming from the front of my ZX TT. It's gradually getting more frequent and happens when I break and then lift off the brake pedal or just as I start pulling away. I recently had replacement front pads in the hope that this would stop the noise, but it's not made any difference. Cheers, Andy

ARSE!- Just bought my beautiful imported ZX Twin turbo and it all looked sweet.....that is until yesterday. Steam started coming up from the engine (passenger side, somewhere below the battery) and I found a puddle of rainbow-ish-tinted water on the ground. I'm hoping that it's just a hose/conector that's sprung a leak and the steam was from where it was dripping onto a hot engine part....but then again..I don't really know much about the motor yet. Any clues anybody? Or does anybody know at least how I can check? HELP!!!!!!

Hi All, After lurking for some time, I have deicded to bite the bullet and ask for the vertiable hen's teeth.... If anyone is selling or thinking of selling their UK Z, please let me know. Cash is waiting for the right car. I am looking for any good UK example preferably that has been unmolested. I have been viewing Auto Trader for some time, but know that most of the guys/girls on here are jolly good eggs and can be trusted slightly more than Mr R Geezer from Auto Trader. I have just replaced the battery in my Zed - see previous thread. I checked the voltage with the engine idelling - 14.6V - so only the battery was dead and the alternator was fine. So not having driven it for four days I jumped in and off I went. OMG!! I was all over the place - the Zed was acting like a teenager! (or was it me?) I had noticed a drop in performance over the last year but I had put this down to the fact that my Zed was almost a teenager itself and has almost 70K on the clock. I guess that the drop off had been gradual and I had not realised how much I had lost. In addition my radio found a whole set of new stations that had also been lost!? …

Please can someone shed some light on what I am doing wrong! I've got an avatar that TT Tim has sorted for me via e-mail. Took the car out on Saturday, filled up at my usual shell garage and as i went to pay the guy behind the counter said what a wicked Cavalier i had and what kit did i have on it. (twat), Should have known that my day would go from bad to worse........ Picked me mum up as she wanted to go for a spin and had my first challenge since owning the car from a white scooby who drove 6 inches from my back side goading me. Anyways put me foot down on a straight road all the way to 110 and the guy stayed 6 inches from my back side all the way WTF. as the bends started coming up slowed down and he went past. Has anybody got any examples online of the look of the car minus the spoiler, with the Zcentre (or other) skin kit over it? Trying to get an idea of what the whole car will look like. Got the usual problem with winter where the spoiler's paint has just flaked off left right and centre. Thinking about ditching the spoiler and getting the skin done, but not sure about lines of car.. I've got a silver Z32... opinions and examples please!?! :)

Just an open "thank you" message on the forum to TonyCarter1234 who very very kindly popped over to mine yesterday from Daventry to help me try and get my ZX back on the road. Got further than before, but alas still broken, got started, reved passed 3,000 revs but Sloooooooow accelerating, max speed somewhere around 40mph.. and it took an age to get there. Limped over to Tony's yesterday and then had it recovered to Jeff at Zedworld, where it's now in his capable hands.. But just wanted to say thanks to Tony, and to everybody who responded to my various pleas for help. Cheers lads Lee

Like most of us I only get the Z out during the winter months when the weather's nice and dry. In the UK that means very rarely. The last time was 2 weks ago. So yesterday the sun's out and it's dry. I head into the garage to bring the beast out, click the button on the Sigma to unlock the car. Beep and the car's open. I jump in, put the key in the ignition, turn it, all the lights come on and....... nothing. 2 or 3 seconds later and the alarm goes off. I go thru the whole process again and again and the same thing keeps happening. So I give up. This has not happened before. I'm pretty sure it's not the battery. Anyone got any idea what could be wrong????

Morning zedders, Getting desperate to get my zed back on the road now 'cos I miss driving it. Will cost me ~£500 to get my zed up to the zcentre (from Hampshire) so that it can be 'fixed' up and be driveable again. So my Q. is, is there anywhere that specialises in zeds nearer to Hants that I can take it to and know that it will get treated right?. Cheers, Tony

On the way to the POD today I was gunning it in third a couple of times and when I got to 5,000rpm it just stopped revving and slowly slowed down. I didn't do it all the time but just a couple of times. When I got there I noticed that one of the turbo pipes on the nearside turbo wasn't on very well at the front of the car. I tightened this up and it hasn't done it again since. Would such an air leak cause this problem? Ivan :confused: :confused: :confused:

Hello all What is the range of engine revs to be expected when starting the car from cold. Mine goes to about 2000 rpm when it starts which to me is far too high. It does creap back down to about 1500 rpm after maybee 30 secs but initially i think too high. Any help appreciated Cheers John Crisp

Seems like THE topic at the moment. If I go on boost at half throttle and ease off a bit the dumping from the BOV's doesnt seem to be in synch. One is slighty ahead, this causes the car to surge forward quite a bit. Ive also noticed that the noise (i presume from the turbo's (turbo) on spool up seems to be far louder. Apart from this the car runs ok and there is no sign of any tell tale smoke from the exhausts. Any ideas on the surging and if the turbos are getting noisey would this be a good time to rob a bank even though im smoke free? Oh and I get code 55 so everthing else appears to be ok?

i have just bought a soundlab amp it is 2x125WRMS or 1x250WRMS so what sub(s) will it run am i better off getting 2 subs (will it run 2) on one and which? thanks ps its not for the z its cor my corsa z is my dads

Whilst trying to open the drivers side door ( lock a bit stiff ) I managed to bend the titanium key , luckily I also manged to remove it from the lock without snapping the bugger. I have no spares and don't want to risk snapping it at another attempt. In the long un i should fit some remote device and/or get the lock sorted. In the meantime I'll go to the local key cutter and try to get a replacement cut. I know there was some stuff about this on the forum a few weeks back but couldn't find it ( yet ) Are these keys easy enough to copy , whilst a tad skew , or should I contact Nissan , bearing in mind I can't drive the beast until a get another key. Just checking my oil level today on may Jap NA. The dipstick seems to say ok but when i took off the oil reservoir cap - there is no oil visible. Should i be able to see oil looking down the hole like when you look down the radiator cap and see coolant?? The car is on a slight slope - but nothing big, back end of the car is at the lower end of the slope. Its a pain in the ass having your driveway on a slope :) Thanks Barry.

I notice last night that when I hit the gas, head light power drops nearly 30-40%. Battery is replaced 2 months ago. I used more amps than before. Everything was fine until last night i guess thats why i noticed it. What kind of problem might cause this?

Hello agian guys! Seems like ages since i was last on here...:eek: Hope all is well!! Guys i need help and some info on turbos, recently my engine just collapsed on me so ive decided to get it rebuilt:rolleyes: So whilst the eng's out, might as well do the usual and get me T's upgraded.....not that ive got spare cash lying around or anything:D :D Which is y i need to know which 1's are the best to get power wise etc. I need them to handle over 400bhp easy cos im also getting forged pistons, bearings, uprated gaskets etc etc.... all info much appreciated! cheers jaz

When stumbling through the mass of automotive bits and bobs that I have accumulated over the last few years I found a small K&N filter. Looks like a crankcase filter which I may have had for an old cooper s engine a few years OK. But it is new and very shiny and surely would look better under the bonnet of my Zed as opposed to the floor of my garage. Any where benefit from a nice and shiny chrome filter with an outlet of 12-15mm without stretching it, maybe 20mm with some persuading?:confused:

hi folks, no, not a speed question. Just had entire cooling system overhauled - piece of mind etc.. AND have noticed the following, which is a little worrying. before overhaul, took AGES for warm air through vents and needle to even move, let alone reach 'normal' operating temp. NOW it is a halfway (normal) with semi warm air after approx 2 miles/5mins of 'easy' driving - i.e poodling up the road with the usual plumes of condensation out of arse end. is this normal for all your zeds, or has the garage forgotton to connect anything - needle doesn't move any further and all levels havn't depleated once normal temp reached. so. is something shagged…
