Had a look at a Zed today that was for sale. It's exhausts looked like slightly bigger versions of the std system and had Jasma written on them. Does anyone know anything about these, for example are they straight through? They sounded deep but not boomy! Thanks Jon

Today dealt with a zed with a very poor tick over and also very reluctant to rev above 2000rpm arrived in the workshop, all usual checks found nothing wrong so on to a compression test. All three of the right hand bank cylinders had a zero reading! After stripping the the front of the cam covers off all was revealed, the right hand inlet camshaft was some 30 to 40 degrees out! Now I have seen this before when an old belt has lost some teeth or the belt tensioner has failed but there was plenty of evidence that the belt had been changed and the tension was ok? after further checks when removed the belt was NOT a genuine Nissan part, in fact it had no mar…

are the little plastic clips that go over the end of your springs necessary? do the just stop the spring wearing the rubber out?

Hi, I've seen a black 300ZX around my area, in the North West in Tyldesley/Astley. It's got a private reg, which I will not state, and up untill today, I haven't noticed the R33 GTR alloys on it. Anybodies on here? Regards, -Elliot

Help with the steroe swop over if you can guys. On the back of the UK tape player there are 2 blocks. One contains 10 holes with 9 filled with wires, the other block has 6 holes, 5 are used, 4 of them are for the rear speakers and then there is a green wire that goes to the clarion amp in the rear speaker compartment, but I dont know what to do with this wire as my Kenwood doesnt have a wire for this? Do I just need to send a live current down it to power the amp up as I cant get the rear speakers to work and this is obviously because the amp is not firing up!!! Please help, I am tearing my hair out here!!!!:mad:

My main dealer has put 10/30w oil in my manual gearbox because the new 75/90w they put in previously caused difficult gear selection when cold. This oil has cured the problem, but I wonder if this oil is ok longterm for the box? What about putting Redline MT90 in??

doe's any one know where i can obtain after market replacement part's for my automatic transmission for my z...other than stock nissan parts from nissan.....some where close to hampshire??

Has anyone had problems with non-OEM parts for their Z? My mechanic tried to save me some money with a replacement water pump. 2 water pumps later,both apparently for a 300zx (z32) neither of them fitted properly,both too long.:mad: Now have to get Nissan water pump which will be a little bit more than the ones previously(£35). I really don't know which one to go for. I could go for the stock one but they don't seem to last too long. I could go for a paddle clutch but I've heard that your flywheel has to be in good nick which mine isn't! Also, I've heard that you have to rev the engine to set off smoothly & that they're a bit logical. ie. they're either on or off, is this true? I've heard that they don't last long either! Also there's a street clutch which is OK but costs $490 +$60 +20% rip off tax cos we live in the UK. Anyone know where I could get a clutch at a reasonable price or am I dreaming!!:confused:

Can Anyone help please!!!!! I have a '91 Jap 2+2 TT. The Speedo was changed to MPH but now when i go over 100mph (on private roads of course) the speedo goes back to zero!! The problem is with this is that the power steering kicks in and it all gets a bit scary......... I've had the inline convertor changed and this hasnt made any difference so it must be something else..... Any ideas?? Dan

Can anybody lend me a Techtom ? I need to find out for certain whether mine is Donald Ducked or whether it's my ECU diag port. Have faffed around with this for ages now and have no conclusive proof either way, although I feel it in my water that the most likely cause is an intermittent problem with my Techtom. Alternatively, anyone around my way-ish want to borrow mine for a week or so to confirm whether it works (or whether it damages their ECU diag port - LOL)

Anybody know a good firm in the UK who can do a good respray job using those cool 3-tone paints like the TVR ones... and a rough idea on a quote. Quite fancy that cool silver/blue one TVR use on the Tuscan a lot...

Problem started few weeks ago. When car is cold and turn it on. Revs go up to 1500 then drop down down down and finally car shuts down. Before the only think I had to do is press the gas a little for 1 sec and then car was operating normally. Now it got worst and I have to press the gas for some time to prevent the car from shutting down and even sometimes this is not enought. Might still shut down. Idle sensor? Maybe? Any similar experience?

Hi all, Just last week I purchased one of these wonderful cars. I have been looking for about a month and plumped for one remarkably close to home considering the distances I was getting on the Autotrader online ...dorset, bath etc! If anybody could advise me on a slight problem with my Z ....upon startup when cold it will squeak for about 5 minutes, until engine is warm then it goes away. My own thoughts it could be the fanbelt? I took my car to a local garage and he said it is not the fanbelt and it could be the bearings in the pulley? Hello Mate, Been doing a bit of research and apparently Mobil 1 oil filters are the bollox of the dog variety!!! Could you find out if they do one that fits the z and maybe if they do one that is larger in capacity and flows and filtrates to the same or higher spec than the original? All the Best, Mark

I read about the code 34/safety boost thing and wondered if mine wasn't running to full potential , even though it seems damn good , hard to compare etc. Cheers Phil

hi when ordering an o2 sensor is the american passenger side our driver side or is it the same even though they are left hand drive??

Hi all. Just a few questions. First i was looking into getting a new steering wheel for the Z, i've got my eye on a nice momo one. I know that i'll need a boss for it but what can i do with the cruise control buttons? Can i just disconnect them cos i never use them anyway? Next is my gear knob, the one thats on is really tatty, and i'd quite like one to match the new wheel, but it'd look stupid cos the gator thing attaches to the bottom of the original. Would i have to buy a new gator for it or can anyone recommend one that's near enough a direct replacement for the standard one? Lastly, and i know this is really quite sad, but where can i get a sun strip for the fron…
