Anybody know a good firm in the UK who can do a good respray job using those cool 3-tone paints like the TVR ones... and a rough idea on a quote. Quite fancy that cool silver/blue one TVR use on the Tuscan a lot...

Problem started few weeks ago. When car is cold and turn it on. Revs go up to 1500 then drop down down down and finally car shuts down. Before the only think I had to do is press the gas a little for 1 sec and then car was operating normally. Now it got worst and I have to press the gas for some time to prevent the car from shutting down and even sometimes this is not enought. Might still shut down. Idle sensor? Maybe? Any similar experience?

Hi all, Just last week I purchased one of these wonderful cars. I have been looking for about a month and plumped for one remarkably close to home considering the distances I was getting on the Autotrader online ...dorset, bath etc! If anybody could advise me on a slight problem with my Z ....upon startup when cold it will squeak for about 5 minutes, until engine is warm then it goes away. My own thoughts it could be the fanbelt? I took my car to a local garage and he said it is not the fanbelt and it could be the bearings in the pulley? At that point he had lost me as my 'under the bonnet' knowledge goes as far as the windscreen washer reservoir! I mus…

Hello Mate, Been doing a bit of research and apparently Mobil 1 oil filters are the bollox of the dog variety!!! Could you find out if they do one that fits the z and maybe if they do one that is larger in capacity and flows and filtrates to the same or higher spec than the original? All the Best, Mark

hi when ordering an o2 sensor is the american passenger side our driver side or is it the same even though they are left hand drive??

Hi all. Just a few questions. First i was looking into getting a new steering wheel for the Z, i've got my eye on a nice momo one. I know that i'll need a boss for it but what can i do with the cruise control buttons? Can i just disconnect them cos i never use them anyway? Next is my gear knob, the one thats on is really tatty, and i'd quite like one to match the new wheel, but it'd look stupid cos the gator thing attaches to the bottom of the original. Would i have to buy a new gator for it or can anyone recommend one that's near enough a direct replacement for the standard one? Lastly, and i know this is really quite sad, but where can i get a sun strip for the fron…

Hi, I have noticed some people running with no front number plate, especially Supras with big intercoolers. I am thinking of doing the same, with speed cameras NOT on my mind. Anyone have any idea as to the fine/points situation. I think its just a producer and take the car to the MOT station to prove its back on.

I've found a disconnected wire at the back of the engine bay, in the middle. I've got no idea what its for and why it might be disconnected, and the Zeds running sweet and everything seems to work?? I've taken a pic of it but cant work out how to attach to this message (I think I might have to be a paid up member to do so!) so does any of you bloody helpful nice people (creep creep) mind if I email the picture to you?? If not, any wild stabs in the dark appreciated. :D Thanks Mark

FFS this site goes down for a week or so, and everyones brains fall out :D I've NEVER seen so much SHITE posted ANYWHERE. Just look through the first page and check out the tech replies etc. Now I aint saying that you shouldn't post if you don't know what you are talkin about. Just had the results of first analysis back from Jeff re: my zed... bloody buggered to say the least. Might even be staring at replacement engine for the thing... Passenger side Turbo has completely gone... amongst other things Many thousand pound bills begin appearing in front of my eyes at this point.... I think I'll just go cry. Will update you all as soon as Jeff at zedworld has given me the low down on where I stand... God help me........................................................

here goes,had my zed for a while then the rad sprung a leak,had it recored,then the water pump went n took out belts as well so was all replaced,then the top water hose on the rad split n also was replaced,this was over about a 2 month period.And just to top it off on thursday the rad burst down the right side popping out the seal,so i think the twats who recored it didnt do it properly,so it was sent back n them n they say tuff luck not fixing it because my water system is running to high a pressure n its not there fault,could this be true or r they just trying it on,help me please ................................

Hi all, The radio reception on my import is rubish - I get a very inconsistent radio 2 (I'm getting old!) and very few other stations. Apparently the car has the adaptor that connects the UK stereo to Jap arials so I'm not sure what esle to do. Any thought? Andy F

Hi, I've got a knock sound/feeling coming from the front of my ZX TT. It's gradually getting more frequent and happens when I break and then lift off the brake pedal or just as I start pulling away. I recently had replacement front pads in the hope that this would stop the noise, but it's not made any difference. Cheers, Andy

ARSE!- Just bought my beautiful imported ZX Twin turbo and it all looked sweet.....that is until yesterday. Steam started coming up from the engine (passenger side, somewhere below the battery) and I found a puddle of rainbow-ish-tinted water on the ground. I'm hoping that it's just a hose/conector that's sprung a leak and the steam was from where it was dripping onto a hot engine part....but then again..I don't really know much about the motor yet. Any clues anybody? Or does anybody know at least how I can check? HELP!!!!!!

I have just replaced the battery in my Zed - see previous thread. I checked the voltage with the engine idelling - 14.6V - so only the battery was dead and the alternator was fine. So not having driven it for four days I jumped in and off I went. OMG!! I was all over the place - the Zed was acting like a teenager! (or was it me?) I had noticed a drop in performance over the last year but I had put this down to the fact that my Zed was almost a teenager itself and has almost 70K on the clock. I guess that the drop off had been gradual and I had not realised how much I had lost. In addition my radio found a whole set of new stations that had also been lost!? …

Took the car out on Saturday, filled up at my usual shell garage and as i went to pay the guy behind the counter said what a wicked Cavalier i had and what kit did i have on it. (twat), Should have known that my day would go from bad to worse........ Has anybody got any examples online of the look of the car minus the spoiler, with the Zcentre (or other) skin kit over it? Trying to get an idea of what the whole car will look like. Got the usual problem with winter where the spoiler's paint has just flaked off left right and centre. Thinking about ditching the spoiler and getting the skin done, but not sure about lines of car.. I've got a silver Z32... opinions and examples please!?! :)

Just an open "thank you" message on the forum to TonyCarter1234 who very very kindly popped over to mine yesterday from Daventry to help me try and get my ZX back on the road. Got further than before, but alas still broken, got started, reved passed 3,000 revs but Sloooooooow accelerating, max speed somewhere around 40mph.. and it took an age to get there. Limped over to Tony's yesterday and then had it recovered to Jeff at Zedworld, where it's now in his capable hands.. But just wanted to say thanks to Tony, and to everybody who responded to my various pleas for help. Cheers lads Lee
