Having been lurking around the site for a few weeks may I say thanks to everyone for a lot of useful information. The "keys" thread was just one that has helped me understand what the keys I have with my new Z do .. and yes, I have a titanum one I'm glad to say. I do however have some questions now that I have had the beast for a few days. The car is a 1990 jap import, NA, 5 speed 2+2, cloth interior etc etc. A great canvas to start work on... 1. The car it seems to me is in good condition (I intend getting it looked at properly ASAP) but does seem to be suffering from having had too much sun, something I guess won't happen in UK! The dash for example has lifted in t…

Here's a thought, would it be possible to convert a Zed to LPG? or would it be virtually impossible! What kind of costs would I be looking at? Probably more than the value of the Zed right?:p

For all us peasants out there who are still on conventional dial up internet access... Iain was telling me that you can ring BT and tell them your dial up connection speed is tommy tank and request that they turn the gain up on the line and hey presto. I was getting 38000 bps and now after a confirmation text message from BT am getting 44000 bps. Fastest I've had it (ohhhh errrrr Mrs :D) EVER!!! Woooo hoooooooo! Much better and much faster. Mac Discount Plc. does it again. :D I wonder if he knows what this weeks Lotto rollover numbers are? :D

I'm off to Italy (Florence actually) for hols at the end of August. Thought I'd take the Z. I reckon on 2 days each way, so a couple of questions - 1. What route to take and where to stay for the overnight in each direction? 2. What bits on the Z might go snap that I could carry with me and what preparation would be important before going?

Hi All, To anyone who's looking for Z32 manual gearboxes for a conversion job, www.japaneseautos.co.uk (01995 605181) reckon they have a few manual boxes for about £200 - £300 - bargain, you could afford an overhaul too. They also have some imported gearboxes with warranty. If this is't 100% true please don't shoot the messenger :-\ I just came across them while I was trying to find some clutch servo hoses and check valve - BTW, anyone have these spare?? Cheers! RobH

I've got some AGX adjustable shocks and some blitz lowering springs to go on and I'm wondering if I'll need the camber correction kit. For anyone with the blitz springs, did you have any problems with tyre wear at all? Cheers Vijay

I made the mistake of buying from http://www.kobemotor.com/ The car was very poorly described to say the least. I am in the trade and the cost to put it into the condition as described is approaching £1000.00. They even got the mileage wrong, how I dont know. Actually I do, they dont give a sh*t. They have offered me £50.00 refund, as if that would make any difference. Please tell everyone that you know to pass this on so. I ask this because I dont want them decieving anyone else. They should not be in business and the more people tell others the more likely they will go out of business. I can tell the whole story to anyone who sends me email.

Just got a non turbo 'Fairlady' jap import. Runs sweet but when I pull away from a standing start, the car hesitates before going. This also applies in reverse. Any help on the cause and how to stop it would be much appreciated.

I think it's time for a new clutch as mine slips like a good 'un. Is the best place to get them from Courtesy Nissan? I'm guessing i should probably get the clutch disc and pressure plate or does it tend to be just the clutch disc that goes? Labour hours? Cheers Boyzies

I know it's been said here before but I now know first hand how crap the stock temp gauge is. My car decided to lose it's coolant yesterday and I was shocked when the temp gauge went from normal driving temp to very near the maximum in a matter of about 15-20 seconds while I was doing a steady 60. Luckily for me I managed to pull over and I don't think any serious damage has been done. I just couldn't believe how quickly it moved! I would recomend everyone go out and get an aftermarket temp gauge so you can have some sort of warning if your car overheats. That's next on my list (well after a timing kit:( ). Vijay

Hi Guys, Since the series 1 PTU is prone to failing, does anyone know if a series 2 PTU fits on a '90 300zx without any problems ?. I'vebeen told by a reliable source that my misfiring when warm may be the PTU on its way out. Or does anyone enjoy fixing broken PTU's :D. :(

no funny comments..... i am really distrubed and need serious feed back. let me set the picture its was 2am and i had dropped this girl i was seeing home. i was driving back when i noticed a red fiesta with turbo zooming around. at first i took no notice but then i pulled up to a set of traffic lights and guess what? it was there. he strated reving away indicated he wanted a race. i intially thought theres no point but then then my 3litre twin turbo got the better of me. the lights turned orange and he started to edge then they turned green and the race began. i had my foot halfway down on the pedal, my turbo was kicking in, so was his. we were neck and neck …

Hi I recently posted a message on this forum about buying direct from japan and picking your car on the basis of three pics! I had different views about it from different people on the matter, so then i went and did it!! Ive just been offered this car: Red, 5speed, manual, twin turbo, late 1992 (k), 23,000miles, full black unmarked leather, excellent bodywork, aftermarket spoiler, sideskirts and mirrors, 18inch split rims (volks racing), aftermarket exhaust (s/s) I have seen the pics and it looks mint!, now assuming that everything is genuine (i.e. Milage!!) can anyone give me an approx price on what they think its worth?? Thanks for your tim…
